Just wanted something to be able to watch old dvds and blu-rays and this gets the job done!

It is USB 2.0, BUT it utilizes TWO USB ports if you need the speed. Easy to use, and your OS will recognize it immediately.

This drive works with macOS without software install. I'm very happy have this. I recommend it and would buy it again for myself. My system: 2017 iMac 27 inch. The LG external disc drive is powered by the USB cable. Some reviewers mention this drive seems fragile. I think it is fine. Certainly not rugged. But it is an optical drive with precision laser technology. It should be handled with care. I bought it to copy school movies and pictures that were given to us over the years on Blu-Ray and CD. Before we get too far into the future, I wanted to get an external drive to copy those files to an SSD and backup online.... before optical disc technology disappears like VHS tapes.

Needed an external burner for a Surface Pro, and decided to try this BluRay version. It installed with no issues, ran well, fairly quick, and ran using Windows 10 built in drivers. Still testing it out, but a good buy for the price.

I bought this to use with my new HP Spectre (which does not have internal drive). So far, everything I've tried has worked. Comes with Power DVD software which I had used on previous computer and liked it. Have not tried to create an Blu-Ray yet.

This blu-ray writer was a great investment and a great addition to my laptop. It is very fast and reliable. I burned my sons football games this year to a Blu-ray Disc. The resolution was unbelievable!!! You won't be disappointed.

I had a lot videos on iPhone and cameras and wanted to edit and enjoy them in blu ray disc. Super easy to navigate and burn in half the time! Playable on all devices including Xbox and PlayStation

I bought this external drive just to watch Blu-ray discs on my laptop and it works great. Easy to download the software. Virtually plug and play. Just make sure you have two USB ports next to each other.

I usually play videos on this. I use it to write a couple times, but all in all does what it suppose to do. I don't go on my computer much anymore but It still works till this day.

I received the LG external DVD blu-ray drive. Everything works perfectly. Burns blue-ray disc. Recommend Kirk

Bought this to replace my ten-year-old ASUS gaming laptop when it died. I'm very impressed by the improvement in both graphics and sound. I play Elder Scrolls V with all the high-end graphics mods installed, and it's awesome. Big selling points for me were the RAM expansion capability (comes with plenty at 32 GB, but that can be doubled as needed) and the spare M.2 slot for storage. Graphics card is about as good as anything currently available. This system is VR capable and should be more than capable whenever ES VI gets released. Battery only lasts about an hour when playing video, so plan on staying plugged in.

Works excellently for Blu-Ray disc burning and ripping.

Using this with my HP ZBook 14 Mobile Workstation Ultrabook. I have already burned a batch of discs on it without trouble, and playback is great. I was surprised by how light the drive is, yet it feels relatively sturdy. Adding to keeping it light for traveling, it does not have an external power adapter (thank you LG), but you will want to have a couple USB ports alongside each other on your computer if you are going to use the supplied cable without extension adapters, since the cable is one of those dual ended ones that uses one USB connection for data, the other for power. If this is going to be a deal breaker and you are looking for a burner, but not necessarily a Blue-ray unit, look at the LG SP80NB60 (LG - Ultra Slim 8x Max. DVD Write Speed External USB DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive) - it uses a single USB port.

This drive works great to play blu-rays on my new iMac that does not have an optical drive. My only complaint is that the software included did not include blu-ray software for a mac so I had to download software for a third party.
