Needed something to play my physical media (CDs, DVDs, BluRay). Comes with software for your PC. Plug it in and it works great. It does take two USB ports on your PC... Luckily mine has plenty. This provided exactly what I needed it to.

This is an item I needed for specific programs that still have discs for my laptop.

The drive functions as expected, with as formats I tested. The software did, nothing. Would not load or play. Customer serviced did solve the problem by download a different program.

This Blu-ray DVD burner does everything it claims effectively and effeciently. I've been using it a lot. And not once so far have I been disappointed. It is convenient, small and for my laptop is perfect.

In this era of streaming it is becoming harder and harder to find players for our DVDs. As I work on the road, I need something compact that I can travel with and this fills the bill nicely. Thanks LG for yet another terrific product.

My new laptop did not come with a DVD/CD drive, so I figured as long as I needed to purchase an external drive to install computer software, I might as well get one that can play Blu-ray discs as well. This will allow me to watch movies if I were away from home. My son highly recommended I purchase this model because he has had a good experience with it. I don't think I would ever need to burn anything on Blu-ray discs, so I have no concerns there. The only thing I wish it had was longer USB cords, because my laptop only has 1 USB port on each side, making their cord too short. Luckily for me, I had a longer cable with a USB adapter connector in my desk drawer to use. No additional purchase was necessary. Perhaps LG needs to take that into consideration as laptops have fewer ports.

What I love that this device made everything so easy. You simply plug it in to your laptop or computer and it automatically detects the device and what needs to be done next in order to finish whatever project you may have. Highly recommend it for the price and everything it does

My old player was getting to be a pain and this one works great. Easy to connect and use and works well with my system (HP Omen) and software (Corel WinDVD Pro 12). It comes with software, but I just needed the hardware.

I bought this burner as well as a comparable Pioneer Blu-ray burner. I got 2 different brands because that's all that was in the store and I needed more than one. This works just as well as the Pioneer one - easy to use and got burn speeds as advertised.

This device is very simple to set up and use. It includes a disc with software and all that, but it is not required for its use. I've had this product for about 9 months and it's not showing any signs of age yet

I got this to serve as a multipurpose drive for my desktop computer as they don’t come with internal optical drives anymore. I haven’t had any issues with power as I have it hooked to a powered USB 3 dock. It reads CDs, DVDs, and BluRays with no issues and writes CDs and DVDs perfectly. I haven’t tried to write BluRays yet but don’t expect any issues.

This is a great external, USB Blu ray player. Compact, quiet light weight and does the job. I use mine exclusively to scan Blu ray operas (5.1 audio) into my lap top computer (MKv). NAS for later viewing on home ethernet. Good value external player.

External Blu Ray DVD + RW/CD - RW disc rewriter I have been wanting for a long time. I have not had a chance to use it yet. Typically I check with cnet before purchasing a product.

When I bought my new all-in-one it didn't have a CD player this unit really does all I need it to do. I have both Blu-ray and DVD's and I don't need two different players or recorders.

I bought this product for my work - I ended up purchasing the wrong writer (my fault, not the products) however, I found this to be easy to use, great instructions and to be functional. It's very light and portable.

A good product if you are looking for Blu-ray and CD drive for your PC if it doesn’t have one already. In order to use the Blu-ray features you must have a software key. There is a software key in the packaging, if you throw it away, the item is virtually useless for Blu-ray.
