I'll start by saying the BR I copied are not protected. These were family videos that I've backed up onto blu-ray and copied for family. It was easy to use and quiet.

It’s kinda scandalous that one has to buy decoding software for another $40-100 along with a drive it to play overseas content, this is the best way.

I bought this LG external Blu-ray drive to replace a very similar LG external DVD drive that I'd had for years. I used that DVD drive to burn my entire Mystery Science Theater video tape collection to DVD, and to rip most of my 2000+ CD collection to MP3, so it stood up well to heavy usage. But while it was still reading discs OK, it was starting to have problems burning them. A need arose to be able to read and burn blu-ray discs, so I decided to make this upgrade and kill two birds with one stone. So far the blu-ray drive is working great. It's able to convert a CD to MP3 at least ten times faster than my old DVD drive.

Now that new laptops (and even desktops) are dependent on cloud storage, they often no longer have a drive for CDs or DVDs.....this accessory is easy to use and great to have handy when needed.

Love the new external Blu-ray disc player. Easy hookup and plays great on my laptop computer. Would recommend if your looking for a Blu-ray disc player!

This drive has worked very well thus far. It is fairly quick and I like its portability.

I absolutely LOVE this external drive! I had bought a different one from a different store and returned it the minute I saw this one available. This drive has done everything I wanted it to. I read the reviews before purchasing and decided it was exactly what I wanted. I have put almost all of my home movies on DVD now. It has worked with Windows 10. It works with my work laptop. I love it!

My child went to college with a new laptop and mko drive. This plays DVD and BlueRay and she can install programs from the university bookstore. The recording feature is a bonus.

I was looking to back up my DVD / Bray collection to my computer so I can watch through iTunes works great! The guy at the store was very helpful and walked me through the difference between several models! Would recommend highly

In the market for an external, portable bluray player/writer. The LG was perfect. Quality product and small enough to carry. (Wish it had a carrying case.....small issue).

I've only had one BR player since 2009 and its worked perfectly the entire time. As with purchasing an entire new computer package, I figured to add this portable player because I have quite a few Blu-Ray discs and can't play them on the included DVD player. The first movie I tried was a DVD from 1980 and it up converted it to a much better picture, sound, and resolution. Super glad I got this as it was discounted due to the large amount I spent on the entire new computer package. They didn't have it in stock so I had to wait to receive it at my house 4 days later. No issues or problems and looking forward to using this even more in the future. LG Looks Good, Life's Good Indeed!!

This product has been useful a few times for me my only downfall is that it can get loud when running a task.

it plugs into my gaming laptop very easily and allows me to watch BluRay movies.

Bought the blue ray before I realized my laptop isn't compatible with blue ray but I still like it to play music and watch non br discs. Great for traveling or sitting out on the deck.

Excellent Blu-ray, DVD, CD write. Well worth the money. I have it connected to iMac, no regrets so far. Created several data and audio disc.

This external blu ray writer is an excellent addition to my surface book. It takes very little space on my desktop. But the software that came with it is hard to use and seems to have some problems.

There really isn’t much to say. I needed a drive capable of reading blu-ray discs and this got the job done. It’s worked great so far and I haven’t experienced any problems.

This item is great however it used 2 USB ports and does Blu ray though Is great device and works well for windows or mac but just can't get away from using those 2 USB ports
