The burner is very reliable and reasonably priced and does a great job on most media !

The items does provide access the movies, and I can project from the computer to my LG large screen TV. But it doesn't Turbo Tax disc, etc. It also requires I reload software to read the dvd each time I look at a movie.

This little Blu-Ray reader/writer is an excellent product for those with no optical drives in the computers at home/office. Plugs in using USB connection. Software load is easy and intuitive. This product is usable on Apple (Mac's) products and Microsoft-based computers making it very versatile! Plug it in, watch a movie; back-up all your pictures and music (or whatever else you want to!). (I am using it on both a Mac-mini and a Window's based PC)

I wanted a Blu-ray external drive and this was the best one I could find it works good I would recommend it

This went along with the laptop purchase my aunt and grandmother made. They are using it mainly for the bluray playing functionality, and love it.

Works like a charm. Nice to take and use anywhere where I want to watch and enjoy a movie.

Connected to my Surface Pro 3, works just fine. I'm able to watch movies as well as burn files, which was my primary purpose for purchasing it. Connected it and within moments it was ready to be used.

This device saved me on vacation, when my laptop slid to the floor and destroyed the DVD drive. Very simple to install and extremely portable.

This particular unit came wkth v1.03 of drive firmware and is compatible with the 3rd party firmware to allow UHD tipping. The unit feels a bit flimsy but is holding up well. The USB cable does require 2 inputs side by side so this might not be a good option if you are using a laptop that is oddly laid out.

It works with the laptop that I purchased it for and we haven’t had any problems as of yet, so I can recommend it to that extent alone.

What can I say...blazing fast, writes bly-rays and DVDs, and works great with my Surface Pro. Everything you could want in a drive. That is if you still need a drive these days.

Great to have external drive for DVD/CD since new laptops don't have them anymore. Blu-ray bonus.

Needed optical drive, why not get one that supports Blu-ray. Only wish they would use more recent than USB mini-B.

I was sort of skeptical of purchasing an external writer vs an internal because I have a laptop. This thing is durable, it stands up to me anyways. I was worried about power for the writer because reviews have said they need a lot of power. More than one USB port worth. This comes with a splitter cable with dual source male ends to use two ports for power and data transfer. Fast writer. Haven't tried blue ray yet but don't expect any problems.

Simply works as expected. Plugs in, spins, reads and writes.

Like the dark, sleek look. So quiet running. Suprised with speed, blueray and backward compatible to DVD and CD play and burn. Wish it had newer USB capability.

The hardware is fine. The software is a different story. Make sure your computer has the necessary specs or you could run into some problems.

i like the drive it works well with my mac but mac will only see the blue ray disk but will not play blue ray disks without additional software. regular dvds work well
