The unit feels a bit flimsy but is holding up well. The USB cable does require 2 inputs side by side so this might not be a good option if you are using a laptop that is oddly laid out.

LG external USB Disc rewriter

But it doesn't Turbo Tax disc, etc. It also requires I reload software to read the dvd each time I look at a movie.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm using this in a weird scenario (in Linux) and this worked with no issues. my Pioneer model that I purchased a few years ago started having problems recently with some discs, but this was able to read them no problem. The price does seem like it could be a bit high, but it does drop to more reasonable amounts from time to time, so keep an eye out for that. Keep in mind that you're going to need to available USB ports.
