The downloads and reboots went through several cycles, but in the end, all works well.

Few errors so far, even on some really bad discs. Great drive. Through firmware flashing, you might also achieve reading triple layer BD-100.

The software that comes with it works, but it does want you to upgrade to a costlier version (I didn't). It's also loud on startup, but once you are playing a disk, it's fine.
