Purchased this to use on my surface i havent tied it out yet on the surface but have tried it on my desk top computer works great

I have a MacBook Air and wanted an external CD/DVD writer. The Apple branded one writes CD/DVD but for almost same price this LG one even writes Blue Ray - so I decided to give it a shot. I felt that it was very noisy while operating. It also took too long for the MacBook Air to recognize this device and it initially felt like the computer froze. I wish the Apple branded one wrote Blue Ray.

The LG DVD/BLURAY writer works as anticipated. This is the 4th LG device I purchased over the last couple years and I have been pleased with all of them.

I purchased this disc burner which was recommended to me by the Geek Squad. Downloading the software was a breeze and I was able to burn my DVD Home movie to it. It worked wonderful and burned the disc quickly. From when I downloaded the software, connected the burner and burned my first disk it was all within an hour. It burned the movie even though I had put the movie together using Movavi and burned the disc with the software provided by the burner. Wonderful!!!

Works well, except this does not read UHD disks. Descriptions are a bit thin regarding the differences between the players. If you want the UHD capabilities you need the next model number up, BP60N. Only had it a week, and not much use will go through it, so we will see how the reliability holds up. Im just glad someone is still making these devices.

The drive seems to be doing quite well, so far, though I am having issues with one Blue-ray disk that does function on my PS4. It is power exclusively by USB cables, but it requires two open ports to do so (though it may only need two for blue-ray). The provided cables are also quite short, so the drive may need to live on top of your computer in some fashion.

Nice Product. Good addition to my macbook pro works prefectly fine and cant complaint. It servers the purpose.

Ez install..this device allows me to watch some of my older movies that I couldn't find on the web...

Easy to use disk. I have not burned a disk yet. Uses two USB ports. Nice features on accessory disk.

Since many laptops now come without the drive, they are much lighter and easy to carry. This separate drive is thin and compact enough to carry only if you need it.

This is just what I needed to play blu rays on my pc. It cane with the software needed.

Easy to install, dvds play clear. Would recommend.
