The computer recognized the DVD player with no problem. Size is excellent, connectivity was easy. I did not install the provided software, so I have no information on that. After installation, the device was easily recognized and worked well with Windows XP.

They had me download a program that wasn't the easiest either. Tried and tried to play a movie to finally call them and find out it doesn't play blue ray and you need to spend much more for that. I could have bought a computer with the drive in for how much extra it would have been. Make sure you know what you want.

They tend to work better. Time will tell if it lasts. The noise while loading is really scary. Sounds like it may malfunction at any time.

Great external DVD player for iMac

I purchased this unit to connect to my new iMac. It works great and I haven't experienced any problems with it. The finish is high quality and it compliments the iMac.
