This device was priced well, worked right out of the box and is quick and easy. I played video from a DVD and it works great, no skipped frames. It looks sleek, takes little time to get started. I'm very pleased with this device.

This was a great purchase! Bought it onsale at a very reasonable price! I needed to put music on my laptop, from my CDs, to transfer to a USB for my car. Was a very smooth transition. I haven't tried DVDs yet so I can't speak on behalf. I do highly recommend this External Drive!

Super easy plug and play with Windows 10. Lightweight, very thin and works for both reading and writing CD's and DVD's. I remember spending over $500 on my first 2X CD writer back in the early 2000's. Tech has come a long way!

This DVD-R/W drive is very compact and easy to use! I was able to rip my old music CDs with no trouble.

The new laptops DO NOT have a DVD+RW/CD-RW Drive! I talked to a GEEK SQUAD technician who recommended the LG Ultra Slim Portable DVD WRITER. I bought the product, hooked it up to my new laptop, I'm very happy with the performance of the unit! BEST BUY and the GEEK SQUAD rock!

Easy to install. Works well with CDs. I haven't tried it with DVDs or RWs yet so no opinion there. It's very light so you would do well to use some double-faced tape to hold it in place. Not bad for the price.

This lightweight, compact DVD writer is much faster that I would have expected, and allows access to critical files and program installations that cannot be downloaded, or that are only available via Cd or DVD. This works perfectly, and is instantly recognized by Windows 7 and 8.x as an extra drive.

Excellent DVD Writer that I am using with my Microsoft Surface Pro (2017 model). Sleek design. Small footprint and low profile makes this DVD writer very transportable. Easily recognized by my Surface Pro as an external drive. Comes with CyberLink Media Suite software which to me was an added bonus in burning DVDs

I needed this external disc drive when the original built in of my HP laptop stopped workiing. I can watch DVD's and play CD's and view my old backed up files once again. Just instead install, plug in and play. Good brand, does the job and price was right.

I bought this product to rip all my cd's. This did it for me. Quiet, fast and easy. Definitely recommended for ripping music cd's into mp3 file.

Have always been used to having a laptop with a CD-ROM drive. Now, with a laptop that doesn't have a drive, this was a purchase out of necessity. Very pleased with this purchase. Plug-and-play install, Nearly silent while in use. Small footprint. Would buy again

I purchase this to have when I want to use some of CD/DVD Because I do want to watch while lying in bed. On my other lap top it had a built in one but I could never use it. Because it was always stuck. With this new feature I will not have a problem trying to open. Just plug it in and start watching some old movies on CD/DVD. :)

Great product, easy to install and use, I would recommend this product for price, reliability & performance. Great for traveling, very compact, light and durable.

You get what you pay for. This unit is very light weight and somewhat flimsy. It can be difficult to get the disc in and out of the tray. Pushing the eject button can be an issue because the unit is so light. It is a two hand job. It has functioned well so far. It has played video and ripped audio and video to the computer. Doing this and playing media from the computer is a better option as there is a read lag playing from the disc drive.

This LG product works good, however, I'm having difficulties registering my product, which I don't like!!

I love this product so much, I purchased a second one. It is very easy to use and can back up automatically at set intervals. It also comes in a lot of color options. It is a great value too....I can't imagine how a more expensive product would be better. It is extremely fast.

My new laptop, like most now days, didn’t come with a dvd drive. I did have a couple of older software programs that still work well and I wanted to use, so I bought this. It works great, setup was very easy, very lightweight and fits easily in bag with laptop.
