Have always been used to having a laptop with a CD-ROM drive. Now, with a laptop that doesn't have a drive, this was a purchase out of necessity. Very pleased with this purchase. Plug-and-play install, Nearly silent while in use. Small footprint. Would buy again

It is very compact and portable. It runs very well and can be brought wherever you go.

This product is great you can connect it to your computer, laptop, tv you can take it anywhere I take mine camping and vacations hook it to laptop watch movies listen to cds it can record, everyone needs one great for kids and young adults get one for everyone in the family and you can all watch and listen to what you want too not what everyone else is.

Tiny and unobstrusive. For the 69 year old that still makes a playlist at Christmas for a few friends and burns it on a CD. I also still have CDs that I love to play. Stuff I haven't loaded into my iTunes.

Great price on a good piece of equipment. Easy hook up.

My new laptop, like most now days, didn’t come with a dvd drive. I did have a couple of older software programs that still work well and I wanted to use, so I bought this. It works great, setup was very easy, very lightweight and fits easily in bag with laptop.

I love this product so much, I purchased a second one. It is very easy to use and can back up automatically at set intervals. It also comes in a lot of color options. It is a great value too....I can't imagine how a more expensive product would be better. It is extremely fast.

Easy to use right out of the box. Compact. Does exactly what it’s supposed to do, which is play CDs, rips, and burns easily.

I initially had an optical drive in my PC, but later removed it because I thought I wouldn't be using DVDs anymore. Anyway, it turned out that I do still have a need for a DVD reader in 2021. I picked this LG drive because it was the cheapest I could find ($24 as a sale price). Pros: -Slim design. It is extremely thin, light, and portable. -Quiet operation. With the exception of the initial seeking of the disk, the DVD drive is very quiet. The only noise that can be heard is a faint vibration or spinning sound. -Tray-loading mechanism. I personally prefer tray-loading DVD drives because they seem to be less susceptible to eating your disks or scratching them. I've had slot-loading DVD drives add scratches to my disks or have disks stuck in the drive, resulting in an uphill battle trying to retrieve it. With a tray-loading mechanism, scratches shouldn't be a problem and I believe there is a hole in the front where a paper clip could be inserted to manually eject the drive. -Matte finish. In my opinion, the matte finish was a great decision, as the drive won't be coated in fingerprints and is more grippy than other finishes. Cons: -MSRP. I believe that a DVD drive today should not cost over $30. Looking at the non-sale price of $40, I really don't recommend over-spending on a device like this. -Build quality. I think the build quality is average, but the plastics in the tray feel like they are drooping a bit every time I eject the drive. However, this all doesn't seem to be an issue. Overall, this DVD reader gets the job done pretty well. Again, there is no need to over-spend on a DVD drive these days, so I recommend that you get the most affordable yet positively-reviewed drive you can find. This drive, at the time of purchase, was the cheapest drive I found.

Laptops don’t come with CD-ROM drives anymore, but I want one for some of the things I do. This one is straightforward and does what I bought it for.

This unit works and performs extraordinarily well! It is fast, quiet, and super easy to use. The included software is a breeze to install, easy to navigate, and makes burning discs almost pleasurable, lol! I would highly recommend this burner to anyone needing to copy anything to cd or dvd.

Making the move to a new solid-state notebook/laptop provides the advantages of sleek, thin, fast, lightweight, 2-in-1 computing. With no internal CD/DVD drive however, the link to your CD's & DVD's is lost. This reasonably priced external drive restores that connection for another generation of computer use. It's size & weight are a nice match to the computer's sleek look and it serves as a good technology bridge between old & new. My 5-star rating is based on initial experience. Its durability remains to be seen, in that the lightweight feature is achieved with lots of plastic parts.

This is a light-weight, easy to use drive. It smoothly goes between Mac and PC. So far I've only used it to read CD/DVDs and am not sure about its writing capabilities.

This drive works well and required no extra installation set up, just plug it in and use it.

I remmeebr shelling out hundreds in the past lol this lil guy is amazing. Works right out of the box. Used it on my raspberry pi, and ahhhh so great to just see things work.

After my other DVD Burner died, I was trying to find one at a good price but they were too pricey for me. Well, I found this on sale and it was a really good buy. I had DVD video projects to do for family and to preserve precious memories on DVD, Well, This did the trick. The included software is a basic version without the advanced features. It does have some useful features such as the Virtual Drive, something I did not expect. But if you want to play movies with it, there are plenty of free alternatives out there. This drive is pretty quiet and got what I needed to get done, done. It's a little more bulky in size than the previous slim model I own but built very well. I also got to install my games that I own on DVD again on my computer so it was a joy to get into those again. This is by far a great purchase made from Best Buy and LG makes really good products.

great, small and affordable. I was able to view my old photos I saved onto a disc. Easy to use and operate.

Dont like the fact that new computers dont have a cd/dvd player or speakers. But this is an easy answer. I listen to audiobooks or music when working on the computer.

Thos worked exactly how i expected. I bought it, to copy music to a thumb drive for my car. Worked just fine.

I have not used my DVD player extensively so far, but I have played some of my favorite music with it, and it has been great. I'm glad I got this along with my computer.
