I wanted a CD/DVD drive to use with my Asus Transfomer 2-1 netbook. I only had one USB, this drive only requires one available USB port. I checked mostly LG and chose the SP80NB80 based on positive reviews and bestbuy price. For me it was plug and play, but Windows 10 does not have a DVD player. I did not use the included software but chose to download free VLC Media Player and it works perfectly. I have played CDs and DVDs without any problems. Picture and Sound are perfect and the drive is quiet. I am very happy with my choice and would recommend to anyone looking for a portable external USB CD/DVD drive.

Purchased this for importing CDs onto my 2020 iMac and it's perfect. I previously had the (overpriced) Apple Super Drive would randomly reject CDs and tell me they weren't recognized or would end up recording skipping/crackling artifacts onto the audio tracks. It was also super loud. This LG is the complete opposite. It's positioned at a fair price, super quiet, sleek, imports CDs quickly and I am amazed at how it is able to import some of my CDs and render over any little scratches that would play as skipping noises on the Apple CD Drive previously mentioned. The only con I can think of with the LG is that it does seem to pick up fingerprints easily but nothing that can't be wiped off. Very happy!

Least expensive double layer DVD/CD writer reader. It is light and small without needing heavy & large power adapter. Perfect solution for laptops. It also has LED light for status. And a real push eject button with safety eject pin are perfect hardware solution.

Works exactly as advertised and for a fair price. Idiot-proof plug and play. Needed one to record some old DVDs before donating. Will keep it handy just in case I come across any more during my stay-at-home reorganizing frenzy.

Started using LG brands in the last 5 years but so far they've been pretty reliable and competitive. It's lightweight and easy to pack for last minute movie-nights . The price wasn't bad.

This dvd/cd player works very well. Immediately it started to work without downloading any drivers. It is very quiet, small, and light so usable basically anywhere. The down side is I bought this to watch movies on my laptop, however it is without a program to play movies, so a 10-30$ program must be bought on top of it.

Works great with old CD's. Easy to plug into laptop and use. Very quiet.

Now that laptops and computer no longer have CD/DVD Roms, I found myself in need of one when our dentist gave us a CT scan on a DVD. This LG drive plugged right in and went to work. No issues or complaints. I kind of wish it had a cheap bag or case to store it in since I won't use it often, but very happy with it ether way and the price was super cheap. Thanks!

This drive is really good. Burns music cd fast. Burned over 40 cd's and it's still working great. The best thing, Best Buy had it on sale. So got a good deal on it.

Worked exactly as expected and used to rip old cd's to a thumb drive. Feels a bit flimsy but worked just fine for what I needed. No longer have a reason to write to a CD so that was not tested. In all, it was a good buy for the price.

I needed this to replace an older drive and use with a new computer. It is quicker than the old drive I had, It is seeing a lot of use as I have a backlog of CDs to add to my library since the old computer had issues and seems to have no issues. It also doesn't take much space

Compact, one USB hookup is all it needs. I've used Archival CDs, DVDs, Dual Layer DVDs, Government Issue CDs, (which usually don't work in anything), all worked with ease. The complimentary Software works super in Windows 11. The Unit is small, it makes pushing the (Eject) button hard to press. The USB cable is long enough for me to place the Unit on the edge of the table, hold it without pressing the middle of the Unit, and press the button. The CD/DVD Tray slides out with ease and placement of a disk is easy to do. The cost compared to features is a win win for me.

This worked as described. It allowed us to view some older DVD's. It's USB interface was easy. The drive showed up as an external drive in Windows file explorer, we opened the drive, selected the file and viewed it on a video player application. Easy.

I like the sleek look and size of the external drive. It's kind of pricey, but it has enough storage for ALL of my previous and oncoming files.

This Drive was simply plug and play, very easy to use and seems to be plenty fast enough. I have a few applications that require a disk in the drive for security and this drive has been performing fine.

Had no issues to install and us this CD player. The read is fast. The device is light weight so easy to be portable as I travel a lot for work. If you are like me that the Laptop the company gives you has not CD reader, and you need to read a CD, this DVD/CD reader does the job.

Easy to use and very lightweight. Just plugged in and used. Downloaded separate software to play dvd. Got it at year end sale at a great price. Works fine with my Dell laptop.

Works well with our MacBook Pro. The only trick is to restart the computer once in. After that it worked flawlessly.
