This drive is very slim and unobtrusive and does its job well! Super easy to connect it to my iMac and was able to play multiple DVDs without needing to install any additional software. The drive tray ejects when connected to a computer OR by using a simple paperclip into a hole in the front (similar to how SIM cards are ejected). It has very few moving parts and will likely last awhile because of it.

Exactly what you look for in a DVD/CD drive; one that just works with no hiccups or headaches. I have yet to experience any issues with the drive. Read speeds are good, write speeds are good. Great drive for the price.

Easy to setup, works wonderfully and very versatile

When my father recently passed away, I discovered he had tons of CD's on which he stored photos, music, videos and other family items on multiple "CD" formats. My laptop does not have a CD drive, so I purchased this external unit. It worked immediately and I was so pleased. I've also used it with my IPad.

I bought one of these LG - 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW drives several months ago. I started using it right away with my laptops. My kids 14 and 17 saw how much I used it and found you can also attach to most newer tvs through the USB port so i bought another to keep in my bag. These drives are easy to connect and use and very light weight. I have used with music cd, dvd movies and used to backup pictures from older computers.

Purchased this but have not used yet but happy I purchased it to have all the tools in case I need them.

For the Price this item is excellent. I use it for my MacBook and Lenovo Laptop. Its small, Light, Quiet, and does the job. What more can you ask for?

This drive is inexpensive but a solid performer. There is really nothing to ding it on except that it is a light-weight external drive. Being an external drive makes it a bit of an awkward thing to deal with if you don't put it on a desk with extra space. My wife and I take my laptop with us on trips and watch movies on it using the drive. We will often lay in bed with the laptop on my legs and play a movie. The drive, then, has no stable platform for it to rest on. This isn't an issue with this drive alone. It is an issue with all external drives. The problem really comes in due to the light-weight nature of the drive. While this is a plus for carrying it from place to place, it makes it even less stable without a desk to put it on. Aside from this (minor) issue, I have absolutely no complaints about this drive.

This unit works and performs well! It is fast, quiet, and super easy to use. The included software is a breeze to install, easy to navigate.

Since most new computers do not have a DVD drive and I needed one to view files backed up to DVD's I purchased this drive. The DVD drive is easy to connect with the enclosed USB cord and recognized by computer via Windows explorer. DVD drive is slim, compact and easy to use . Fast to read, transfer and copy computer files or to watch movies. DVD included with drive contains additional software to print labels, play movies, edit photos and videos.

The burner is a nice burner for the price. It gets the job done I’m a fairly quick speed. I am using on a Mac and setup was pretty much plug and play.

None of my laptops have a CD drive so I bought this. Works great, computer recognized it immediately.

I LOVE this thing. It sounds goofy to say about a DVD drive, but let me tell you, it's the best 20 I've ever spent. I love physical media and have so many CDs I want to put on my itunes, so this puppy saved me so much money and effort. Love it love it love it!!!

This DVD writer actually works well, considering the fact that I had went and got a higher price item and it didn’t exactly meet the iOS needs of my computer, my laptop, but when I came and got this was the one you had in stock at that time and was actually closing time worked really well so I made a really good choice and quality is great customer service was great even though I was the last one in the store. I’m literally made it there seven minutes before closing and I was treated like a very very value customer which I am but that just odd me the most it was excellent service so I always go to Best Buy.

light weight and compact price was good didn't take to long to receive it

This works perfectly with my laptop computer. It's so simple to attach and use, and the price is great. It's so easy to hook up to my laptop and so easy to use.

For those of us who still have or use large CD collections, it makes it possible to rip the CD's onto computers and/or SD cards. Works great!

Work great for my set up my music is on cd so i have to use the burner to transfer
