Ok for voice in very small rooms, but…
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lack of midrange and low frequency reproduction makes this sound so thin and cheap. It just doesn’t have the drivers or firmware to do a respectable job in any place but a tiny room with a low ceiling. Pros: Channel separation. Setting up the device is very easy. Well packaged.

Returned the same day
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible. Just terrible. I drove an hour and a half away and the same back so excited to get these to just find out they were not good. At all. That fifth up firing atmos speaker did nothing but make the system sound terrible. Steer away from these if you can.

The S95QR is a powerful immersive system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to get LG’s flagship soundbar for 2022, the 810W 9.1.5 S95QR. It’s a complete set with sound bar, sub woofer, and rear surrounds. You can see full specs on LG’s website. LG lists key features as: Meridian audio, Atmos & DTS:X with upfiring front (including center) and rear height speakers, high res audio (24bit/96 kHz), HDMI passthrough for 4K Dolby Vision & HDR10, WOWCAST ready. There are 17 total speakers with the set. Step #1 was to unbox the soundbar. I was a little surprised about the plastic feel. The build is solid, but the perception was less than premium. The soundbar fit nicely under my 75” TV. LG states best match is 55”-65”. I like the design of the rear speakers. They aren’t flat, but instead the fronts are angled out for more dispersion and the upfiring speaker is angled slightly forward. The sub is tall/narrow with a front port and side firing speaker. At 7.9” wide it can easily find a home. In addition to the speakers and power cords for each (which I feel should be longer), in the box is a remote, wall brackets, HDMI cable, and 2xAA batteries. I set it up to couple with my LG 75QNED99UPA TV. Using the LG Sound Bar app, it was easy to get the S95QR up and running. The speakers connected to each other automatically. What’s next was the all-important test of its sound. I chose to use apps directly from the TV as cable always seems to have some degradation of sound. I watched clips from several movies I had seen that were all Atmos from Disney, Prime, HBO Max, and Netflix. I also listened to some music videos off YouTube. My test room has a full Atmos setup with receiver so I felt this would be a good comparison. I never would expect a soundbar to be as good as a component setup. I was more than pleasantly surprised at how immersive the sound is when watching movies. It can crank up loud. The sub performed well with some decent punch. I did feel the upfiring center channel does provide better overall speech performance than front firing. The rears enveloped sound from behind, and I did hear the Atmos upfiring sound bouncing off the ceiling. The soundbar handled music well too. In general, I found the S95QR to be sonically clean and tight with no distortion. Voices were clear, bass had oomph, and all the various sounds could be distinguished. I would definitely recommend this soundbar. It’s ready out of the box with the sub and rears. The design enhances the overall sound. #LGSoundbarInsiders

Well done, LG.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got the LG S95QR! Here's my thoughts so far. First my background... I used to have the LG SN11RG, the dialog was very poor during action sequences, however it was very immersive, but I still returned it and got the Samsung Q950T. The Q950T was easily better. 2 year's later, I saw the specs of the S95QR and I was very intrigued. Saw some Youtube reviews (very few) and decided to purchase it. Worst case is I return it and buy the Q990B. Ok... So far, I am impressed with the sound system. First thing I did was play the exact same movies that I had issues with the SN11RG. Dialog on Greyhound (Apple TV movie) was clear. Next was Matrix, and Aquaman. Dialog was again clear. I would say it's equal or very close to the Q950T. The S95QR is much more immersive than the Q950T, and the subwoofer is boomin. Again, much better than the Q950T. Watching race scenes from Ferrari vs Ford was fun. I found the LG app to be better than Samsung too. I played a couple of DTS:X movies such as Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom, Harry Potter: Goblet and Bad Boys 3. The first 2 only displayed as DTS:X, but Bad Boys 3 displayed IMAX Enhanced, and there was definitely a difference, it sounded like an Atmos movie. I don't know all the audio IMAX Enhanced movies are, but it sounded nice. Also, no disconnections like I had with the SN11RG and Q950T. I'm definitely happy with the S95QR and I highly recommend it. I would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Great soundbar
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was kind of skeptical before I purchased this soundbar for the high price. But now that I have used it for about 1 month, I am very satisfied I made this purchase. It pairs seemlessly with my C1. This soundbar system is outstanding! It is very clear and the bass is punchy. You can hear all the different channels working when you are watching in surround sound. Also it gets very loud, and it makes all content sound much better. Primarily I use it to watch movies in 4k, and this is where it really shines. Dolby atmos sounds amazing on this system. The rear speakers get very loud and I am hearing these channels very clearly. I had some trouble hearing low talking from the center channels at first, but after a little bit of adjustments on the app and the TV itself it sounds fine now. I had a lot of trouble connecting to the wifi with my android phone. Luckily I was able to get it connected using my wife's iPhone. The app is much easier to customize the sound then trying to use the remote.

Stunning Immersive Sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely Outstanding. Matched up to my LG OLED G2 83". This sound system really performs! Hooks up super easily, the rear speakers are Bluetooth and connect nicely. The last sound system I had was a BOSE 321. I was hesitant in the beginning, wondering about sound quality differences switching to LG. But this system is very impressive. The sound is Smooth and defined. Utilizing Dolby Atmos, movies are so immersive. I live in a house, and set the volume to 90 for movies (not recommended for apartments/condo's at that level), regular tv is loud at 10. The subwoofer performs very well and I have it diagonally in a corner and sounds best at 12 feet away. Other reviews state that the led display does not shut off. Using the LG Soundbar app, you can set it to turn off. Look no further, buy this S95QR Surround sound system today!

LG G1 + S95QR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After doing a lot of research, I decided to go with this soundbar over a Sonos Arc or a Sony HT-A7000. * If you have a small car, have this system delivered. The box is quite large. I ended up having to go back home and get my wife's SUV because the box wouldn't fit in my car. Setup was a breeze. All components found right away. Installing the LG Sound Bar app on my iPhone was quick and easy. App found my sound bar right away. I like the app, especially for switching audio modes and controlling the volume. It is easy on the G1 to output via ARC and to enable eARC via Settings. After doing this, the display on the sound bar correctly showed E-ARC. Immediately after doing this, I ran calibration via the mobile app. Calibration didn't take long. I don't feel it changed things too much vs. factory settings. My first test of the sound bar was to stream a Dolby Atmos movie from Disney+. It sounded terrific in cinema mode. Second test was watching a live NFL game. It sounded great in Sports mode. I haven't tested music yet at the time of this review. My only gripe thus far is with the marketing material from LG hyping the integration of the S95QR and certain LG tv's (of which the G1 is included). This has to do with the TV Sound Mode Share. Supposedly, by having this on, you tap into the audio processing power of the TV and it's supposed to result in amazing audio coming out of the sound bar. This has not been my experience. The audio coming out of the sound bar sounds horrible to me when this setting is enabled on the G1. Play the same Dolby Atmos movie with this setting on and AI Sound Pro vs. this setting off and Cinema mode selected. The latter sounds far better. It is possible I don't have something configured right. If that is the case, I hope someone can offer a suggestion to resolve. If not, I hope LG fixes this in a future firmware update.

Pleasantly Surprised
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was skeptical as I do not have EARC on my B7 OLED and didn't have luck with my SN11RG and poor performance. I hooked this bar up and I had it on AI mode watching tv and it was awesome/ some channels that had old game shows and shopping channels put the Cinema Mode on to fill room with sound as those stations have poor sound quality to begin with. I then went to Disney Plus to watch The Mandalorian and Atmos was awesome had volume on 14 only as in an Apartment and sound bubble was great and speech was clear even in action scenes. Have Panasonic UB820 connected to bar and DTS X and Atmos movie blew me away this bar is a great and shows that LG has listed to consumers and really started to bring sound bars up to par with other companies. Some things I did notice coming from the SN11RG the bar it self is noticeably smaller but the sub and rears seem to be larger and the bar is a lot lighter then previous generation and I am sure that is due to recycled materials being used to make the bar. The only thing I didn't care for is they went back to a material/mesh for speaker coverings and got rid of the medal grill that was previously used. Overall i am satisfied with this bar and use future firmware and support for bar will be great.

Great Sound Bar System pairs to LG G1
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound is great from this sound bar. The rear speakers adds a depth to the room that was missing in my setup. I have it connected via e-arc between my TV and soundbar. Both communicate flawlessly and I only need my TV remote to control the soundbar. My only gripe is the setup. The instructions that come with the sound bar is terrible. You essentially have to add it to Google home so that it can connect to the wifi. From there it can update the firmware. There is a lot of settings within the LG app and you have to tinker to find your ideal sound. I love there are settings like voice, cinema, sports that help adjust for different TV viewing.

Convincing Surround and Decent Atmos Performance
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this system to replace an S90QY because I wanted the better rear surround speakers with Atmos upfiring. Otherwise, this is the same soundbar and subwoofer. I was lucky to get a great price on sale. The improved rear surround speakers make all the difference in creating a convincing surround sound bubble and directional audio is clear. You will have to tweak some of the settings to get it to sound the way you want, but there are enough controls in the LG soundbar app. If you want to set and forget, just run the AI room calibration and set the sound mode to AI Sound Pro and the soundbar will take care of the rest. The AI room measurement and calibration works well for most cases. Standard mode with +5 Treble, -5 Bass will give you a natural and more accurate sound as it was intended. Cinema mode exaggerates the audio, but provides a good sound bubble around you. Bass is quite effective, just make sure your place it at a good location in your room, or you will have to do the sub-crawl to find optimal placement for the bass signals to bounce off your walls. Try the settings out for yourself to match your taste and room setup.

Very good!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This soundbar produces awesome sound (not on par with audiophile) for the money. Unfortunately i had to return the first one as HDMI input was faulty. The second unit was perfect for intended purposes - very easy to setup, integrates well with LG OLED TV, clean install - not too many wires (rear speakers wireless)

Excellent additon to the LG 77” C3 OLED
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought an LG C3 77” OLED TV a couple of weeks prior to purchasing the S95QR system. I had been using an older Samsung Q-series system with the new TV, but felt something was missing with the two different brands. I read tons of reviews trying to make an informed purchase to match the new tv. The older reviews on the LG S95QR weren’t all that satisfying. Then i found some recent (60 days or so) posts on Reddit. Posters there were singing praises for the latest firmware update LG had for the S95QR. I took the plunge and purchased it. All i can say is, wow! Awesome, seamless integration with the LG C3 TV. The new firmware incorporates LG’s WOW Orchestra. The system allows the use of the tv’s speakers with the S95QR. Setup is easy and straightforward. I suggest you read some of the Reddit posts regarding how to maximize bass using the soundbar’s AI room setup. I followed the recommendations. When watching movies with Dolby Atmos the sounds fill the room. Bass is great during explosions or bass heavy music. This system is soooo much better than the Samsung it replaced. I feel my money was well spent with this purchase.

Great soundbar.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to pair with my new 77” LG C2. 2 of the best purchases I’ve made in years! The set up was simple. The sound is awesome. Much better than my older Klipsh sound bar. The wireless rear speakers are great. I had some doubts about latency, unfounded. This isn’t a cheap unit, but screw it. We are worth it.

Best surround sound bar system on the market.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this system to replace the JBL 9.1 true wireless. The JBL battery powered rear speakers just can’t stand up to these. The rear speakers have plenty of size and power. The sound-bar itself is wide enough to be able to differentiate left, right and center sounds. The sub sounds up to par with the rest of the system. I would put this system up against any other on the market. A little pricy but still better than paying 4-5k for a receiver system.

Nice upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nicely surprised! I upgraded to this sound bar and it KICKS! Super clear and nice thump. Some ppl were complaining about the base. Yes, if you leave it out in the open it does not sound as hard. I basically put it in the corner and have the base facing the wall. Makes a HUGE difference. Also remember that some streaming services only let the volume go up to a certain level, so the best way to test it is to put in a blue ray and listen to the FULL capability! Also linked up with my lg c1 tv very smoothly.

Good soundbar but app needs work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me get this out of the way. The soundbar sounds really nice. I have been using it now for over a week and it does a great job on all the content I have used thus far. Having a high end home theater setup as well I was pleasantly surprised of how well it performs for a soundbar. Build quality is also very good and solid. I would prefer it were metal instead of plastic but it still feels nice and solid. Something I don't care for is the mesh material on the soundbar, sub, and surrounds. Dust over time could be an issue along with pets possibly. This is no different however form many speaker grills. Overall though I think most will find the quality very nice and solid. Now for the not so great part. The LG Soundbar app is where I found most of my complaints and issues. First, owning several LG products I was disappointed to find you had to use a different app instead of the LG ThinQ App. Why have so many products in one app LG including your TV's yet have a different app for the soundbar only? This could easily be added to the LG ThinQ app and avoid the need for another setup. Besides the app I found the tone controls to be basic. Basically Treble and Bass sliders only for tone. It would be great to offer a full EQ option if preferred as well. To be fair LG is not alone with tone options in soundbars so not a big deal. The real issue for me however is linking to Alexa from the app. No other app, service, or device I own have had this issue when linking to Alexa. All updates on my phone and soundbar are up-to-date so that shouldn't be a problem. It seems to be an issue around security with multi-factor authentication like a parameter is not being passed properly between the services but not sure at this point. I have looked through the forums and online but haven't found a solution so far. Could be something I have setup for security in Alexa but again not sure. Regardless it seems only to be with this app. That being said, as good as this soundbar sounds I will still return it if I'm unable to resolve the Alexa issue before the return date deadline. After all, I want all the features to work even if it is just the Alexa link.
