The wall mounts for this could be better and the holes do not match up will standard wall joist distances. Would also like to disable Google Assistant without having to first setup google assistant. Overall sound quality is great especially when using HDMI audio Passback. Only annoyance with this is that you have to change the input to then get the audio from the HDMI device hooked up on the passthrough.

Hi. I had a couple of Klipsch sound bars. They were great quality with nice subwoofer. This sound bar has comparable sound. Subwoofer works great. I plugged it into the arc hdmi connection on the back of my LG tv. It works great with my DishTv Hopper3 and Amazon Firetv Cube. Does come with Google Assistant but don't use that much. Make sure to use Movie sound setting. It's gives the best overall sound.

I was a little skeptical about of what quality of sound would actually come out of this sound bar. I've always had a high end system with 5.1 surround sound Tower speakers. But decided to try this soundbar to see if I could clear up some space in my living room. I was totally amazed at how well it sounds. Next I want to add the wireless back channels. I highly recommend this sound bar. Needless to say my 5.1 system is up for sale.

Let me start by saying the majority of our house has Sonos speakers (Beam, Sub, multiple Play 1) so my review is slightly jaded. I bought this to accompany a 65" LG C9 OLED in our loft/game room. Setup was super easy, the LG recognizes it instantly & all functions are great. Sound when listening to normal TV is just ok, with no exceptional benefits, the same when streaming from BT. Where it comes alive is listening to Atmos content watching Netflix. The spatial sound while using Atmos is fantastic & makes watching movies enjoyable but there's such a small amount of content right now recorded in Atmos. The rest of the time I'm super bummed. It's ok for a secondary room but if you're looking for daily use, I would recommend a Sonos soundbar & Play speakers as surround or even just the Beam by itself.

The upward facing speakers are a real step up from just your average forward facing speakers. Sound quality overall is great and it works perfectly with my LG B9 OLED ! I do wish I went with the later model but hopefully it goes on sale.

You do not need the rear speakers. Very impressed with the Dolby Atmos content.

No need to add surround sound into your house. Purchase this LG Soundbar System! We keep the sound setting between 9-12 depending on what we are watching because otherwise it is too loud. The sound quality is amazing - movies, regular TV shows, or just music. Instead of using my bluetooth speaker and Apple phone, I have this paired with my new LG TV and listen to You Tube music videos.

Unit was very easy to setup with my new LG C9 tv. Sound is good. Look good too.

This soundbar delivers. Throws sounds all over the room when watching movies. I can't count how many times my kids or I have heard something during a movie that we swear the sound came from behind us. Very cool pairing with my LG 55" OLED TV. Next up; going to get the wireless rear speakers to complete the tri-fecta. Don't walk, run to BB and grab this soundbar.

Read the summary. Sound is very good but it’s like watching a 1960’s Godzilla movie, where the Japanese guys are talking a mile a minute and the words come out: Godzilla after you.

Great sounding soundbar, sub is perfect. There are better atmos setups out there, but I got this on sale and worth the money I spent. The sub does lag at times, might be my internet or setup locations.

I bought a 65" LG TV for the family room, great picture but the sound could use a little help. After looking around for a sound bar, I came across the LG SL8Y on sale at Best Buy. Listening to it in the store, I was blown away by the sound it produced. It was a perfect pairing for my 65" LG TV, great sound for the great picture.
