LG offers a wide array of products at pricepoints that are accessible to everyone or that cater to discerning gadget guys. In my opinion this is one of the top 10 phones made in the last 3 years. Its better than the galaxy s6 on all specs and on par with the s7. I dont consider the s8 an inprovement. This phone is fast, reliable with great features and a nice camerra. Nothing that i dislike.

It's fast and easy to use in one hand, once activated the system can actually update to Android 7, which is the most recent Android version. The fingerprint sensor is accurate and fast, the cameras are amazing and fun to play around with. It charges very fast too, you can go from 0 to 100% battery in a little over an hour with the charger that comes with the phone.

For $200, I didn't think for a second that this phone would become an instant favorite -- Even surpassing my Note II, Note 4, & Note 5. Amazing camera, unrivaled battery life, performance/snappiness is top-notch, screen resolution is unbelievable; It doesn't fall short in a single area/field! Getting this device for $200 (+Tax) was an absolute steal.

I decided to go with the unlocked LG G5 instead of paying big bucks for the current models. I upgraded from a G2 that I have had and loved for 4 years. I couldn't be happier! Great camera, great battery life, and still had an IR blaster (Unlike the G6 or S8). Awesome phone! I also would like to commend the local Best Buy Mobile for setting up my new sim card.

Good phone but be careful near water...

I bought this phone because of the removable battery module, which is very convenient - with an external charger and several batteries you literally never have to plug it in. However, the battery slot in the bottom is quite susceptible to water damage - mine got splashed near the pool and was DOA even after 3 days in the rice. I have a lifeproof case for it (which I now have on the replacement phone) but it's so difficult to remove that it almost negates the convenience of the battery swap, plus I'm afraid that repeatedly removing the case will affect it's water resistance. Aside from that it's a good quality phone, on par with the iPhone and Samsung upper-mid models. The button on the back takes a little adaptation, but not a bad idea. If I had an easy-off waterproof case, I'd be totally happy with it. cob

This is my 1st LG and I can't be more happy with the phone. Screen is ridiculously sharp, camera is not like Iphone 7's but does the an amazing work plus the wide angle second lens is really useful, phone is fast, well designed, and the best price/quality you can find right now. 100% recommend if you like Android of course.

I have now had this phone for a few weeks. I have had a very good opportunity to fully check it out. Here are my thoughts. I have not tried any of the modular accessories, so I can not comment on them. I am totally sold on the "knock knock". Coolest way to get into your phone ever. You can even set up a "knock knock code" for unlocking your phone. The "knock knock" is basically just double tapping the LG's screen when it is asleep, and it wakes up. It also works in reverse. Simply double tap the screen (away from your apps) and it will put the phone to sleep. So efficient and easy. Fingerprint sensor is flawless. I just love it. The fit and finish are very good, considering the entire bottom of the phone comes off. Great to have a phone I can replace the battery. I also love having an SD slot for extra memory. I moved over my SD card and it worked great. The fit in my hand is terrific. My last phone was slightly wider, and it was very difficult to use with only one hand. This phone is perfect for one handed use. It might be a bit big for women to use one handed, but I would think that would be true with nearly all cell phones over 5". The screen is very clear and has wonderful color. The camera takes great pix. I love the selfie cam and front cam. Both work great. I love being able to say "kimchi" and the selfie cam takes a selfie. My nieces and nephews think it is the coolest thing ever. This phone fits inside my pant pockets and shirt pockets so much better than my bulky previous phone. Thumbs up to Best Buy for getting the LG G5 unlocked, even for Verizon! And for having a very competitive price on it. I have already bought a bunch of super cool accessories for it. I love the new "C" usb charging cable and the fast charger. It also recharges wirelessly, but I have not purchased that accessory yet. Bluetooth is super fast. I downloaded the LG transfer app to my old phone from the Play Store, and all the info on my old phone moved over to my LG, Soooooo easy and fast. WiFi is screaming fast and connects to the latest standards. Love it. My old phone did not have "Smart Cleaning" on it. I use that a lot to keep my phone from getting clogged with unwanted files. The G5 is smooth. It transitions fast and smooth from task to task. Running multiple windows are not an issue. Running multiple apps have not been an issue either. I must tell you about what I DID NOT like about the phone as well. First of all, I had to run down to the Verizon Store to get a new SIM card. The G5 takes a Nano SIM Card, and mine had the old style. Luckily there was no fee or charge for the Verizon Store associate to get me a Nano SIM Card and get me up and running. This was actually an inconvenience, not something I did not like. Battery life is only okay. I am not a heavy user and it will last me a bit more than a day. It is okay for me, but if I was a heavy user, I would be owning a spare battery I think. I was hoping I could purchase a waterproof case that is an actual case, not a glorified zip lock bag. I have not found a true waterproof and shockproof, all in one, case. So now I own a shockproof case and a separate waterproof case that looks like a glorified zip lock bag. Oh well. These are for sure not deal breakers, and honestly, I really don't mind that much. To sum it up, this has been a great experience so far. I have been telling everyone how much I enjoy this phone. It feels very "Premium" in my hands, and when I use it. If you are wanting a last generation phone, for a great price, this phone should be at the top of your list.

All thou it is last year's model, lt is a flagship phone for half the price of the newer model. Solid metal body with ability to swap out the battery. The battery lastest just as long as my old Galaxy S5. Smooth sailing, even games with its fast processor. And the finger print sensor is outstanding.

Excellent phone value! I travel outside the US quite a bit, so having an unlocked phone at a reasonable price is a plus. The camera is great, with the normal and wide angle options. Flash could be better. Learning the little differences from my previous Samsung, but has good interfaces and functions.

I really like this phone, it has all the performance and features I was looking for without breaking my bank. The phone is fast and had about 4-5 updates when I first turned it on, It seems that LG is good on updating phone's security and Android in general. phone calls are clear and crisp, and the Speakers are loud. I haven't changed any audio volume setting because of factory settings already loud an sound excellent. I did also Purchase and OtterBox, a Samsung 850 EVO plus MicroSD card for the phone to store additional videos and pictures. This phone is just the right size for me, Screen is easy on eyes and colors are great. Features on the Phone Really make this a great purchase for me, I Leave my phone and hardly ever shut it off. Battery lasts a long time, I got on 24 hrs standby with some light browsing, a few background apps, and several phone call for less than ten minutes and the phone was at 69%. I like that it's a world phone as well, I have the option to change carriers.

My LG G3 was the best phone I've ever owned, better than Apple and Samsung imo. It died almost 2 weeks ago. Should have been dead a year ago after it spent 20 minutes in water and survived. Not bad for a non waterproof phone. So, I wanted a unlocked phone and Best Buy had a good price on the G5. First thing I noticed was that texting seems like an older version, not a big deal. I use Google maps for directions daily as my drive to work can vary a lot with traffic conditions and I depend on alternate routes and knowing what traffic lies ahead. Well, I realized I was not getting route info or traffic conditions or similar eta's, etc, After spending some time trying to figure it out I discovered to enable Google maps I have to turn on airport mode and then turn it off and then I will get route info. I have to do this everytime I go somewhere, it's annoying. Still looking for a permanent fix. Also, the volume is not as loud as the G3, and I loved the volume buttons on the back of the G3 and the head phone input on the bottom where it should be. The G5 has volume buttons on the side, which to me has always been awkward, and the jack on the top which I don't care for. I don't understand why LG went backwards with a newer model. I guess I should have done my homework as a lot of other folks have expressed similar concerns in reviews.

This is a nice Android phone with great Camera capabilities, especially if we take into the account the price that we paid for. I like how fast is the this phone. The only thing that I didn't like about it is that it did not come with headset or a Bluetooth earbuds.

Had to replace my Verizon LG G5 but Geaksquad did not have one so they sent me a gift card. I found the unlocked version for less than the Verizon phone and the two year service contract was even half the cost. Very good battery life without all the bloatware.

I bought this G5 on sale for less than half of what Verizon is charging my wife for hers. Didn't plan on using any of the special available options. I bought a cheap Poetic Infinity case which keeps the phone nice and thin. I use Tracfone, and chose to get a new SIM card instead of making the guys in the store trim my old one down to fit with no guarantee of success but may have lost my triple minute feature due to that decision. My G4 gave me good service and I expect the same with this model. Good camera, video, storage and slightly larger display. than the G4.

I picked this phone for the IR blaster and wide angle camera. Swapping battery feature is nice, but I haven't used it yet. I don't plan on using LG-Friends hardware options. I switched to this from an HTC M8 and the LG G5 is lighter and faster, not disappointed. Except I am disappointed with lack of FM radio. Moving into this phone from another Android was easy with LG's transfer app. It's very light, but feels sturdy. Very fast for games and apps. Bluetooth and wifi work fine. Fast-charging is fantastic with either stock wall brick or aftermarket version I bought. Battery life seems very good for my needs. Using Case-Mate Tough Case, fits great and interferes with zero features or signal.
