LG has a new laptop... the Gram. This is a 17" Core i7 (13th gen) laptop with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Gram is the lightest laptop that I've ever owned. It feels solid despite it being as light as it is. The i7 processor is fast and when you couple it with 16GB of RAM and the NVMe SSD, the overall system performance is amazing. The high resolution display is clear and vibrant. LG certainly did a great job with the display. The battery lasts for many hours while actively using it. It also supports USB-C charging. It comes with a USB-C charge cable and charge block. The charge block is small and would be easy to carry in your laptop bag, but you can also charge it from a USB-C power source. You don't necessarily have to use the charge block that comes with it.
The ports on the outside are 2 USB-C 4.0 Gen 3 (thunderbolt/USB-C), 2 USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, MicroSD card slot, headphone jack, and an HDMI port. Additionally, it has a built in Webcam, microphone, and illuminated keyboard with num pad. It has an Intel Xe video card that is more than capable of supporting a high resolution display, however, the Xe isn't going to do exceptionally well with graphic intensive games, but will with just about anything else short of that. Everything is snappy when running photo editors, browsers, etc. At no point did I experience any problem with applications running slow. The Gram also delivers a wonderful audio experience via the built-in speakers.
If you are looking for a large display, high resolution, long battery life, lightweight, easy charging, and support for USB-C 4/thunderbolt in a laptop, then take a look at LG's Gram. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for those features. I'm very happy with the Gram and believe that most people would be. This is definitely an option for you if you are looking for a new laptop.

GREAT LIGHTWEIGHT LAPTOP

This is the first update to my old laptop in about 4 years. When unboxing I actually thought they may have forgotten to put the LG - gram 17” Laptop in the box. Weighing in at about 2.5 lbs, it's more then half the weight of my old laptop. The rest of the unboxing is just removing the ultra lightweight power cord and fast charging block. LG also makes charging very simple. No carrying around a 6 foot cable with a huge power block in the middle.
A quick look around the outside before opening and you will find 1 HDMI port, 2 USB-C ( one will be needed for charging) and 2 USB-A ports. There's also a SD Card slot and a headphone jack. The case looks great brand new. It's shiny and reflective but after several uses, fingerprints start to become the design on the top. It will need to be wiped down after every use. When opening the case you see where the light weight of the LG - gram 17” Laptop comes from. I almost feel like I need to open it gingerly because it you push/pull to hard you actually feel a little bending in the lid. I hope this was put through tests by LG because I could see this being a problem in the future.
Opening it up you notice the brilliant colors and sharpness of the 17" non-reflective screen. The Keyboard and number pad are full size and backlit for low light typing. The track pad is good size but leaves plenty of room on the sides to rest your hands while typing. The matte finish on the keyboard is much nicer then the finish on the outside of the laptop. Getting to work is easy with the face recognition or fingerprint reader.
The processor performance is what you would expect from Intel's core13th Gen I7. From watching videos, to office work and zoom meetings and everyday web surfing, the LG - gram 17” Laptop performs amazing. The Intel Iris Xe Graphics is sufficient for some video and photo editing and light game playing. The 16Gb of DDR5 ensures fast data transfers and the 1TB of storage is plenty for all your docs, pics and media.
I absolutely love this LG - gram 17” Laptop and now take it everywhere unlike my old laptop that was cumbersome and heavy to drag from work, to home, vacations, etc. I hope the construction stands the test of time so I don't have to update for another 4 years.

Capable computing designed for mobility.

Everything about the LG Gram screams work on the go. From its light weight, ergonomics, internals, as well as security features, this is a highly capable computing machine that can be used in highly mobile situations. And although some of the screen blurring security features seem a bit gimmicky or clunky they can be easily switched off.
My computer use tends to be office type/ work from home type needs. I have a few work programs running in the background, as well as run zoom meetings, plus I have more than a few tabs open. I also do some light photo and video editing. Mainly process RAW files and video files from my mirrorless camera. For the most part the LG Gram can keep up with my resource hungry usage.
It renders my video quicky and processes my RAWs fast.
I really like the design of this laptop. It has a very roomy track pad. Usually, I always pair an external mouse with laptops, but the pad is very large and responsive that I don't really need to in this case. No accidental right clicks when I meant to left click. With room enough on the pad to reach either corner of the screen without feeling like I'm thumbing through a paperback book. A separate number pad is always a plus. When this laptop is the preferred choice for my less than tech savvy parents as well as my little nephew to play his Roblox, it gets high marks from me.
Probably the only hiccup is with some of the Glance features. Using the camera, it can detect when you are away from the screen and lock the computer. I like this feature and can see the benefits in a school or public setting. The speedbumps are with the smart screen feature that blurs the screen if it detects that you are looking away from the screen. While fun at first and beneficial is some situations, I found it sometimes would blur on me mid-use unless I had the perfect angle when facing the camera. Several times I needed to adjust my head or screen angle to unblur the mt work. Mildly annoying but luckily each separate Glance feature can be toggled on or off, as well as switched off entirely right from the home screen so any frustrations with it can be remedied quicky.
Everything else felt well withing normal ranges. Battery life depended on usage and heat buildup felt manageable. All in all a capable computing machine.

Amazingly thin & light with power to spare

This is quite the piece of technology. Upon unboxing, I had to marvel at the thinness and super light weight, it's really more in the category of a pad rather than a laptop. Yet, it has all the goodies of a modern laptop - 1TB SSD, 16 gig memory, multiple ports, full keyboard and num pad, and of course that gorgeous 17" screen. What's truly amazing is they managed to package an 80WH battery inside - where is it???!!!. My overall impression is that while I was sleeping laptop technology jumped ahead 5 years!
It does have its drawbacks however - this is not the laptop if you're expecting to play the latest 3D shooter with amazing frame rates. But for everyday use, it's more than capable, and if you're on the go, the battery life is as good as it gets nowadays. One way you can tell is that it doesn't generate heat, and is super quiet - no fans blasting out on high speed. Seems LG has spent some time on power management. This is reinforced when you look at the charger - it's relatively tiny as opposed to the "bricks" that come with most laptops.
One feature I do appreciate is the full size keyboard with separate number pad. I've looked at a few 17" laptops, some manufacturers have chosen to do away with the num pad; or even more annoying is changing the spacing on the keyboard - I do enough mistyping on my own, I don't need help from an oddly spaced keyboard! I'm also a fan of the full 5" touchpad. You've got all this extra space on a 17" laptop, use it!
There is one thing of concern to me; I've included a photo of just how flexible the screen frame is. Just the simple act of opening or closing the lid induces some flex. I'm not deducting for that, I'm going to assume that the screen material is tolerant of some flex and will not suffer in the long run. Was the weight such a consideration that a stiffer aluminum frame couldn't be allowed? We'll see.
Overall, I'm very happy with the package, and would recommend to those in the market for something less than a 6 or 7 lb laptop, but more than the pad they're currently moving about with. It's a very good travel companion.

I bought this to replace an older Gram because of its more up to date specs (13th gen I7, ddr5 ram, and Wifi 6e). So far it is working fine and fast for my day to day computing activities, and the display is bright and colorful. LG has updated its update and support apps as well. The only reason I took a star away is because the provided power source has too short a cord. I bought a much longer usb c to usb c cord to replace it that works fine. Disappointing that LG couldn't swing a longer cord for a laptop this good.

Well, this is one nice laptop..however it's not quite premium to me. The first thing you will notice is just how light weight this laptop is for it's size. I mean, it's like you are not even holding a 17 inch laptop at all. It is so nice that, it's almost unreal. So the term gram fits this very well.
Next, the build quality is what I'm not to found of, as it just feels a little to low quality. It does not feel like it matches the price of this laptop. Cheap is the word, it feels cheap. Almost hollow. However, that does not take away from the performance at all.
Keys are solid when typing. Camera is good enough for some zoom, or online calls. Battery life is better than I thought it would be, and the charging is very fast for such a small brick.
Even with the few things I don't like about this laptop, it's gonna get the job done for you. I have done TONS of typing, and long emails...and it feels great.
I price could be a little lower, but overall...I like it and I'm sure you will too. Try to catch this one on sale, it's a perfect buy if you want a larger screen Windows laptop.
