Super value in a large computer monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG MyView 34-inch curved monitor offers incredible value for its price. With its expansive screen and desktop space, it's ideal for various computing needs. Casual gamers will appreciate its performance in games like Fortnite and Call of Duty, with the curve minimizing the need to turn your head from side to side. The half-moon shaped stand is a space-efficient design that has a minimal footprint, allowing for additional storage space under the screen.vvThe curved design enhances your viewing experience by reducing neck strain. The built-in WebOS Operating System lets you use the monitor as a standalone TV, streaming services like YouTubeTV, Netflix, and Amazon Prime without needing to power up your computer. The included remote makes navigation a breeze, and switching between WebOS and HDMI inputs is seamless. One con of the monitor is port placement. The power cable and HDMI ports are positioned so that the cables protrude from the back, which can be cumbersome. Traditional monitors have ports that face downward, conserving space behind the monitor. In conclusion, for those seeking a versatile monitor for work, school, light gaming, and streaming, the LG MyView 34-inch curved monitor is an excellent choice. Its unique WebOS integration sets it apart from other monitors in its price range, offering features you didn’t know you needed. In summary, you’ll be hard-pressed to find another monitor with such comprehensive functionality at this price point.

Nice monitor, no height adj. and tracking issues
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My testing included viewing various streaming services, general internet usage and gaming. It does take a while to get used to a curved monitor if you haven’t used one before. The size is a big plus. The only issue with the size/layout is that Word formatting becomes somewhat distorted. I have the display at 150% (you really have to enlarge or the words are tiny) but Word likes to cram everything into the middle of the page. It is really irritating when working on Word documents. Another issue is all of the data that is collected. You have to connect to your internet to use any of the streaming services through the monitor. If you disconnect the internet from the monitor, you can watch using your PC to stream and the monitor to view. The color saturation is very good and the refresh rate was fine. I opened some pictures from vacation and they were very vibrant on this monitor. Watching a movie from streaming was very nice and the widescreen highlighted the cinematography. I only tested using moderate gaming. A fast paced game might have issues. The height is not adjustable and with the curved monitor stand you won’t be able to place it easily on another stand. You can tilt the monitor but it just isn’t the right height for me. After a few days, my neck hurts. The monitor is nice and most people will like it. I just need a height adjustment and no tracking.

Nice monitor
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a widescreen monitor for productivity that could double as a smart TV and this does the trick. The monitor has bluetooth and is big enough to work with multiple documents open at once. I was considering a 38" but after seeing this monitor I think a 38 would be too big. The only downside is that this monitor has no thunderbolt port so I had to buy a USB-C to HDMI cable to get it to work with my Mac, and I have to charge my Mac separately. I was worried it might be too pixelated for me but it's not, I'm able to work with Word documents without noticing much of a difference. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase.

Lovely monitor for basic everyday use
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the LG MyView 34-Inch UltraWide Monitor, and it has completely transformed my workspace and productivity. The ultra-wide screen provides an impressive panoramic view that’s perfect for multitasking, making it easy to work with multiple windows side-by-side without feeling cramped. The 3440x1440 resolution delivers sharp and vibrant visuals, which is fantastic for detailed work, watching videos, and even light gaming. The color accuracy is superb, and the screen’s brightness is more than adequate, even in well-lit rooms. It also has excellent viewing angles, so colors stay consistent across the wide screen. I particularly appreciate the on-screen controls, which make it easy to adjust settings without fiddling with awkward buttons on the back. The stand is sturdy and provides a good range of adjustments, but I’d recommend considering a monitor arm if you need more flexibility with height and tilt. The built-in speakers are a nice bonus but aren’t particularly powerful—fine for casual use, but you might still want dedicated speakers or headphones for the best audio experience. Overall, the LG MyView 34-Inch UltraWide Monitor is a game-changer, whether you’re working on spreadsheets, editing photos, or simply streaming content. It’s a great investment for anyone who values screen real estate and visual clarity.

Sweet Curve...100Hz...What else do you need?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using a 34" Samsung VA 1440p 75Hz ultrawide monitor attached to my laptop. When I am web browsing or doing work I never get comfortable looking at the monitor. I never can find the right spot and the outer edges of the monitor feel far away. So I said let me try a curved monitor, not to curved but just enough where sitting in the middle of the screen the edges feel closer (because they are) to my viewing angle. Curved is it for me! What I like about this monitor: -I can actually turn off the monitor with the remote control -the onboard speakers are actually decent (and I can control master volume with remote) -I am able to adjust the color profile to keep my eyes from getting tired -does not appear to use PWM to control the backlight -the stand takes up less space than my samsung non-curved monitor -has vesa if you want to mount your monitor -This monitor rocks in gaming (100Hz on call of duty was super fluid) -monitor stand was easy to install The not so good: -Using the onboard software is slow (the smart tv function webOS) -the monitor is super bright (have to look in settings and turn off auto adjustment) -LG tracks you through webOS (turn off the "Do Not Sell My Information" -has ads (can be turned off in settings) -no optical in for audio (does have e-arc -no usb-c power cord -no display port (only 2 hdmi ports) -power supply not built into monitor (comes with small wall wart that is 3-prong) -stand only has tilt function (no height adjustment) Sustainability: LG uses way to much Styrofoam. Ditch the plastic bag for the remote, printed material, and hdmi cable. I think this is a good buy for any gamer, video/picture editor, and office work. Not to good for solidworks or architecture only because of the curve. Also when unboxing, there is no screen protection on the screen. Try not to scratch the screen.

It's not just a monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whether working, browsing, or gaming, I continually find myself opening tab after tab, and running out of screen space to place them. That's why this LG appealed to me. Setup for the unit went quickly. The mounting flange of the stand cleanly snaps into the back of the screen, and the base of the unit has a captive screw to attach it. To power the unit there's a transformer brick, and unfortunately, the plug is built into it. I wish these things would be abolished, they either cover an entire wall outlet, or take up half of a power strip. Whether it's your TV/Sound system or computer workspace, you end up needing two or three power strips to accomodate all the plugins. If you plan to use the WebOS services the LG provides, you'll need to download the LG app - this is all done via the setup screens, QR codes are provided to simplify the operation. A remote is provided with quick access buttons for Amazon, Netflix, & Disney+; whatever services you plan to use can be logged into. I thought the whole process was straightforward & intuitive as opposed to what I've experienced with other Smart TV's, tablets, etc. Picture quality is excellent, and has a multitude of adjustments available; similar to your Smart TV there are tone adjustments for viewing movies, gaming, as well as blue light limitations. Speaker quality is good, it's not soundbar quality, but not tinny either. I initially set this up outside of the workspace I intended it for, and that left me in a bit of a quandry. Not a bad one, mind you. The problem is, this monitor does too many things! I set it up while watching Sunday football on my big screen tv, and I said, gee, wouldn't this help me make a sports bar out of my media room? Especially given the state of streaming nowadays. You can't switch between watching programs without logging in & out of services. What I figured is I can watch network tv and Thursday Night Football on Amazon at the same time. So, for the rest of the football season at least, I think I'll be leaving this monitor where it is. That's what I told my wife, anyway! This LG puts a lot of performance & capabilities at a more than reasonable price level, I would recommend it to those looking for more screen real estate, and have the bonus of using it as a supersize tablet/laptop/tv.

Better viewing than I could have imagined
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a upgrade from a 32" monitor and you would think that wouldn't be a big change but oh how wrong. Unlike the 32" monitor, this one has a 21:9 aspect ratio so there is a LOT of horizontal real estate. Couple that with a 3440x1440 resolution and you have an incredibly crisp and clear image. This combination allows for me to have four windows open and still easily see anyone of them. It has the WebOS built in so connection to your favorite streaming service is pretty painless. A bonus is the LG ThinQ application integration. Since I have other LG appliances, I was able to add the monitor which then allows me to use the app as a remote control. The monitor does come with a remote so you're not required to use the app but I would recommend it. It did take some time to get it added but all good once it was complete. There are a number of adjustments you can make to video and audio to suit your tastes and what you're doing. Video games were fluid without ghosting or artifacts. Now there were a few things that kept me from giving it 5 stars. 1st, the instructions or lack there of. I appreciate trying to keep things simple but a little bit of a description would go a long way. 2nd, it has two USB ports on the back but both are USB-A ports. Why no USB-C? Lastly, there are connections for two HDMI devices. This isn't so much of an issue as a "wish I could split the screen between the two inputs". But is is nice that I can connect my work laptop and easily have dual screens without the need of another monitor. An integrated camera would have been nice but definitely not a deal breaker, especially at the price point. There is a lot to love with this monitor and I would think almost anyone would be happy with the choice.

Good monitor, ok streamer, does neither perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG 34” Ultrawide Curved MyView smart monitor is an odd choice for someone to use for content consumption, and also a bit of an odd choice for a PC gamer. It’s a hybrid device that is ok at both, but would only be recommended if you are space constrained. (but it's an ultra wide, so very specific space constraint) The coolest part is being able to use a controller directly connected and use some game streaming services! Overall as a monitor, the MyView is good, 3440x1440 at 100hz on a solid VA panel looks good, playing Forza Horizon 5 is a treat vs normal 16:9 resolutions. You’ll need to mess with the settings to get everything looking as good as possible, I had to mess with the sharpness to get text looking correct for my average eyes. As a streaming device, it's hit and miss. You can get full good looking video on Netflix, but most streaming services are going to have black bars on the side as it cuts down to 16:9 size. (The Lincoln Lawyer looked great! Also I only tested streaming video, I did not have any streaming gaming services) I could see a college student getting good use out of this display, or someone in a cramped apartment that wants an ultrawide without spending a crazy amount. If you really want a good streaming/good gaming monitor, I would recommend looking for a regular 16:9!

Great Monitor !
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great monitor overall, my only issue is that some apps get warped due to how wide the monitor is. I have tried using the settings to fix this with no issues. However, this is not a big deal for me as I don't really use it for media.

The new wave
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was on the fence between ultrawide and smart monitor. Saw this release and decided to give it a go. Primary (85%) usage is for work which thus far as been what I'd hope. The remote and smart features allows me to take quick breaks and enjoy some downtime without having to move around. I tested some gaming just to see what it was like and it was enjoyable although I'm not a hardcore PC gamer. Would like if the sturdy stand that came with it allowed for vertical adjustment, but that's a small knock. So far, very happy with purchase. Curve is not as obnoxious as I've seen on some other monitors.

A very good curved monitor for a great price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty darn good monitor so far. I purchased it because I really wanted a wide curved monitor for my macbook that wouldn't break the bank (say, vs 2 mac studio monitors). Of course you compromise in resolution and sharpmess but for most of what I'm doing, this will suffice. Kind of annoying though how it won't wake up from sleep, I have to push the button on the remote each time.
