This is a great compact projector. I use it for outdoor movies and the video quality is awesome. I hook up a pair of HK Onyx speakers to it through the bluetooth and it links up ever time I turn it on.
I highly recommend this projector for the price, video quality, noise level and, it’s a smart projector too!

This was my second purchase. In April, 2018 I had bought LG PH550 for my daughter. That 2 year old 720P model had impressed me so much, I bought this newer 1080P version as gift for a friend who was visiting me from India!
I have spent a couple of hours with this projector to show my friend how to use it. I am just as impressed with this newer model also. Bright colors that pop, ability to handle multiple inputs, Bluetooth connectivity with speakers to make it truly portable 100+ inch HT setup. Built-in battery with 2+ hours run time make it easy to put it in your bed, project the image on the ceiling and view a movie without tripping over wires.
Just one thing you have to be careful about is ambient light. Perfect for night time or dark room where you can view 100+ inch image. However, picture will be difficult to watch or washed out in a bright room.
Overall, highly recommended.

It arrived in the right time to replace my 1 yr old (almost $2K) projector which was noisy, big and ok with resolution. First of all, this LG PF50KA is a portable projector that has more attention to the features of being portable. It has internal battery (tried it for 30min) that can be handy sometimes. It is indeed loaded with options and features from casting through WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity, LAN, USB, HDMI.. to even having a TV tuner integrated. The remote control coming with it is quite impressive with a lot of options and features. I use it to project on regular white walls. Nothing special! Despite that, the resolution is very acceptable for what it is. It has a very impressive feature (that was not available in my old one) is with projection distortion auto-adjust (check the attached video). It is a good feature indeed since you don't have to do it manually. Focus adjustment is quite good bringing the resolution to an optimum shape. In general it is very easy to use.
What I like the most:
- A lot of connectivity options. Smart TV features already in.
- Battery back-up operation for portable usage
- Auto distortion adjustment (caused by projector tilt)
- BT connectivity to wireless speakers
- TV tuner included
- Low noise (relatively) and low emitted heat
- Good resolution and rich colors
- Remote control range is quite acceptable
- Light weight, small package
... and some more to discover every day...
What I didn't really like so much:
- the very small power button in the back! I think it is not the best
- Doesn't have a tilt adjust hardware. Mainly made for flat deploy
- When turned on, it will go to white noise TV mode. I can't figure out yet how to change that.
Over all, it is a very good piece of technology! Good to have for office quick presentations, home fun and even some outdoor fun (projecting on big walls). Very efficient and can be easily compared to more expensive ones.

I really love this little projector. GOOD >> Light, super portable, excellent clear & bright picture, number of connections, battery is definitely a great feature! CONS >> fan noise is pretty darn loud & blows such hot air (heats the room!) which affects placement, range of remote detection very poor - almost need to be directly in front or will not register pressed, there’s big delay when pressing remote to when unit actually responds, the USBC will not mirror its input, native mirror option does not work with Apple devices, LG software to mirror is very clunky and difficult to use, and volume up/down will not work with some bluetooth devices like my Airpods, as it only outputs one (non-adjustable) volume setting.

- Simple to use
- Portable
- Full 1080P Native Resolution
- Type C (connect phones, laptops etc.) works great!

-

This little projector has changed our family movie experience. No longer are we constrained to any one room with a TV, but we can take this powerful little projector anywhere, whether there is an electrical outlet or not! It is crystal clear, comes with built-in TV and streaming apps, has its own rechargeable battery, contains a useful variety of ports, and has an easy-to-use yet fully functional remote. It’s only weakness is its rather pedestrian sound from its speakers. But at least it has speakers!

This projector is definitely a great value if you want a smaller more portable projector. It is very user friendly, especially for those who are familiar with LG and may have their tv's. Even though it is only 1080p, the picture quality is very good and you are able to customize the picture to fit your needs.

I bought this project mainly to use in my bedroom in place of a traditional tv and to play around with the kids. Unfortunately it just did not live up to the expectations I had for it. Pros and Cons are as follows.
Pros. Compact size. This projector is definitely compact and would be very easily to travel with.
Another pro the built in battery. It's nice to be able to unplug and take it anywhere around the house. However the battery life doesn't last anywhere near advertised.
I did like the fact that it comes with a tripod mount. This has been more useful than I thought.
Cons. The cons for this projector made it unusable for me. LG's APP platform is old, outdated, and bulky. In 2023 I could not get Prime Video on this thing. How? Amazon is one of the biggest streaming platforms. This project has been on the market for 6 years at the time of my purchase, so this says to me that LG cares not about updating this platform and that my tech is out of date before I even opened the box. Because of this I had to use a different streaming device which defeated the purpose of me buying a projector with apps already installed. The APP interface is bad so I probably would have ended up doing this anyway. This also made the set less portable.
The remote and projector user interface creates a clunky and slow experience getting through settings. Seems like not enough thought went into the usability.
Poor sound quality. I wont say I expected a lot from this unit but it's like cinema sized visuals with cell phone quality sound. So count on picking up an external sound source. It really sound like a cell phone in a box. No debth at all to the sound profil. If you're using this for business the internal speakers may be fine. But for in-home cinema they wont cut it.
The deal breaker. Not enough light. I've never had a projector so I thought 600 lumens would be good enough but this thing washes out badly in the smallest amounts of room light. Even at night which is when I use it most. And in my room it sits further back from the wall which only exacerbates the wash out issue.
With the cons noted, I just could not keep this projector. I can't believe LG's charging 699 for this. Unfortunately I'll have to loose out on the restocking fee, so do your research on a projector that will work best for you.

Perfect portable smart projector

Everything a bigger and clunkier projector does, this one does but it comes does even better with extras. I love that this is considered a smart projector. It comes with LG's appstore that allows for Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, and other great entertainment apps. Being bluetooth enabled, also is great to hook up to some speakers without having to connect wires. Just having the portability alone, is the biggest plus compared to other projectors. It may not be as bright in lumens compared to the bigger projectors but it is still 1080p and has a max size of 100". Sound from the speaker leaves a lot to be desired but again, use an alternate source for better results.

Just used the projector for the first time and it's been great. The lighting is bright and it is clear. I cant wait to use this more often. The bluetooth and wifi option is a plus! I do like how there is a good amount of battery life. It is also amazing how the SMART features are built in saving me from having to put a roku or similar devices in the projector.

I was skeptical at first about its size. But this projector puts out excellent quality video and photos with amazing results from such a small unit.
Some of the features that make this projector shines over others are built in battery, Bluetooth, and my favorite feature: WiFi.
Yes, it has a built in WiFi which allows you to connect to Internet and watch whatever content to your desire!

This is the first projector I ever owned so it is difficult for me to adequately review it. I will though share a few pros and cons:
1. Pros: great image quality (much, much better than I expected); very compact and not too heavy; has smart TV function; is bright enough so that I can see the projection during daytime (I have big windows).
2. Cons: louder than expected (but not too loud); the battery life is horrible (mine lasts for about 30-45 min); the built-in speakers are pretty bad (I ended up buying the LG XBOOM PL5 and both devices work perfectly together); it's a little tricky to adjust the lens (but if you get it right, the picture is really sharp); the projection always seems to tilt a tiny bit to the left side
All in all, I think this is a good projector but it is overpriced. On the other side, I do not know how the quality of more affordable projectors truly is. What I can say is that the image quality is really great and that's the main reason why I kept it.

I has this projector for a short time and with my familiarity with LG TV I thought the smart feature plus the antenna would make it simple.
The firmware on the projector is different then TV which only allows you to essentially purchase everything and not be able to download Netflix, Hulu, prime, etc.
The picture quality is nice and a very quiet motor along with the portable capacity, but it is more about 1.5-2 hours depending on volume and lightning.
I wouldn’t buy this for a home theater let alone outdoor usage. Other options perform better and offer better quality
Also this has a restocking fee when/if you return. That part of the product is hidden within Best Buy pages which as an elite member I found very frustrating.

I originally bought the Insignia™ - Slim-line Pico WVGA DLP Projector thinking that all battery projectors are similar. I was so wrong. The LG completely blows all other portable projectors out the water. The quality of this projector is awesome. It’s like having an actual LG tv. The menu and set up is exactly the same. I paired it with a Sony XB speaker and it’s amazing! For the price and portability you can not go wrong

The OS on this is really old - version 3.0 of LG webOS. This is about 2 years old and no updates on this, even in 2020.
Navigation is slow and it only has 500mb approx. inside for installing apps, but that should not be a problem, since the app store is a joke. Extremely limited number of apps , and none of them of any quality.
You cannot use this to cast; no good apps for this. You can use PLEX though but PLEX is not for me. I would highly advise getting a streaming stick.
This is a great Full HD projector - the picture quality when projected on a white wall, is great. But that is it. It is expensive for what it is, and it seriously is not smart. Under 500 USD would make more sense, and LG should seriously provide a software update.
Longevity and LGs service is something to be seen.

Worth it.
Portable projector, small size can be easily carried in a backpack, I miss that there is no lens cap, other than that very good picture quality in dark room, in daylight not so good though. Well worth the price, this has replaced my bedroom tv for more than a year now.
