Customers have good things to say about the PuriCare 818's air quality and quiet operation, with many praising its ease of use and effective fan. While some find the size and weight to be substantial, positive feedback also highlights the purifier's sleek design and the helpfulness of its app. The performance is generally well-received, although the cost of replacement filters is a recurring concern.

Noticeable Improvement In Air Quality

The LG Aero Tower air purifying fan is well worth the price if you value air quality as much as I do. I suffer from allergies so high air quality is especially important to me. This air purifier is for anyone that puts a premium on air quality. As I previously indicated I am very sensitive to air quality, so this unit is a welcome addition to my home. Not only does it have a fabulously stylish look, but it also keeps the air clean and the room feeling cool.
The box it is packaged in is very tall and quite large. The tower itself is also much heavier than it looks, coming in at nearly 30 pounds. Setup consisted of a couple of quick easy steps. Just plug it in, download the ThingQ app and scan the QR code to pair. Since it is Wi-Fi capable, it can be controlled from anywhere using the App. The App is not required to use the device, but not using it will deprive you of the advanced features that the LG Aero Tower offers. Not only is it controllable by App, but it can also be controlled by voice from Alexa or Google Assistant.
After using it for 5 days, I am very impressed with its performance. The already good air quality in my bedroom has noticeably improved. I especially like that it gives me a measurement of air quality, temperature and humidity. The UV light should further assist in sanitizing the internal fan blades and air that is being circulated.
The fan noise is nearly imperceptible at the lower speeds. At the highest Turbo speed the fan is somewhat louder. I keep it on high at night because I subjectively like the white noise it creates as it helps me sleep. If a maximum cooling power fan is what you want then this may not be what you are looking for, as the HEPA filter reduces the air flow somewhat. This is not a design flaw, but is due to the effectiveness of the filter. The more effective a filter is, the more air flow is reduced. That is whyy many HVAC techs recommend not getting a high MERV filter, as it reduces air flow and puts a strain on the HVAC system. With that being said I am completely satisfied with the cooling capacity and I think most people will be as well.
The LG Aero Tower has a fabulously stylish look that will enhance any living space you chose to put it in. The remote control magnetically attaches to the main unit which is a nice way of keeping track of the remote. It can be controlled by the App, control panel buttons on the unit, or by the remote control.
As with any air purifier, the air filter will need to be replaced but the app will notify when it is time to purchase a new one. LG recommends the filter be changed once a year.

Twin Towers of air purifiers

The design is tall at 45 inches and heavy at 27 lbs. – making it a tad difficult to move around. I personally like the design but may not fit into everyone’s home decor. I have tested 4 other air purifiers from different manufacturers, and this is the one I moved into my family room. It is very quiet but powerful if need be and effective at cleaning the air. Simple use/setup and ease of filter replacement with 10-year motor warranty all add up to make it a very nice option in the crowded purifier field - and I recommend.
Unit was nicely packaged. Just pull up outside box, remove wrapping from around filter and fan blades in the towers and plug it in. Make sure you check the packing though as the base for the unit is taped to the top foam packing (I had to dig it out). I already had LG ThinQ app installed for another device so just clicked add new device and followed directions – adding to wifi was easy too. Apps main screen shows air quality/ and whether unit is on/off, shows room temp and humidity. You can control mode (wide/diffusion/direct), fan speed, rotation, set schedule display brightness and turn UV on/off. I found the app to be easily navigated and very easy setting up schedules on/off times.
All the unit’s physical controls are on the top of the towers controlling on/off, fan speed, mode, auto fan speed and rotation (45, 60, 90 140 degrees or stop). Certain buttons have dual purposes if pressed for 3 seconds or more.
Handheld remote is included as well. You can control on/off, fan speed, mode, info (on base screen), Turbo, auto fan speed, rotation and sleep timer. There are dual functions here as well using long press of 2 seconds or more controlling continuously change fan speed, product sound and display brightness. The handheld stores by magnet on the side of the unit.
The unit seems to have very good sensors and as molecule numbers are continually changing as we go about our day.. The unit is in our family room, which has an open wall to our kitchen, so it is influenced greatly by what/how we are cooking. We have a convection oven, and it really affects air quality when using it to “fry” something as opposed to baking, etc. I have mentioned on other purifier reviews that I wonder how many cooking particles I have breathed in over my lifetime, as when I grew up everything was fried in an open skillet on the stove. In addition to showing micron levels base unit screen changes color – green = good (PM10 of 54 or less and a PM2.5 and PM1.0 of 12 or less), yellow = moderate (PM10 of 55 to 154, and a PM2.5 and PM1.0 of 13 to 35), orange = unhealthy )PM10 of 155 to 254, a PM2.5 of 35 to 55, and a PM1.0 of 36-55) and red = poor (PM10 of 255 or more, PM2.5 of 56 or more and a PM1.0 of 56 or more)
This is the quietest unit I have used so far even exceeding my prior favorite Levoit 400S unit, and is rated for 818 sq ft.
Documentation states it has a HEPA filtration system eliminating up to 99.97% of fine dust and allergens. Unique to LG it also has UVnano LED technology. Using UV light, it is supposed to help keep the fan blades clean of bacteria, killing 99.9% while running. Replacement filter is listed at $99 on LG site.
It has a unique way of oscillating as the entire unit moves back and forth on the supplied base (that you must attach). Interested to see if any issues over time.
There is also an option to lock the units’ controls, which my youngest very inquisitive grandson won’t be happy about. But it’s too tall for him to access the top controls anyway so maybe I’ll just hide the remote.
1-year warranty with 10 years on motor if registered.
Between the app, device and remote control suffice it to say you can set it up exactly - running it when and how you’d like. Highly recommend

Easy set up. Its tall but has a nice modern look to it so not at all unsightly to have in the room. Mine is on a stool behind sofa, Easy to understand readings. Detects air quality and adjusts as necessary on the "auto" setting. Very very quiet. Wish i had bought 2 when they were on sale.

This is one of the best Air Purifiers I’ve tried. As not only does it clean the room, but it doubles as a fan, and is highly customizable. You can tell a ton of engineering went into this as they nailed a lot of the small things. It is larger and heavier than I thought it was going to be at 3.7 feet and 27 lbs. making it feel very solid and well put together. It can also move a serious amount of air. They rate it for up to 818 square feet which is more than most other air purifiers I have found at this price point. But the filter is rather small, smaller than any of the other ones I own which clean less square feet. They report it should be replaced (assuming “normal” use) about once a year. Filter replacements are quite expensive at $129.99 though.
You have three different fan modes. The first is very focused (like a beam for a single individual) called “direct” and is great for cooling down after a workout or from coming in from outside on a hot day, or keeping you cool at night. But the device itself doesn’t have air conditioning or heat so just takes the ambient temperature of the room. Then you have “wide” fan mode where instead of being very focused it spreads it out more like a normal fan. Last, you have a mode that closes the “fins” and pushes the air upward out the top of the device, so you don’t feel air moving around at all called “diffusion”. Which is my favorite and great for people who are sensitive like me to air flow or during the winter when it is cold. The fan itself is extremely quiet at the lower settings. They report 23 dB. For comparison the noise floor for a quiet room tends to be about 32 dB so that’s impressive. Even when set to high (fan level 10) it is quiet, I clocked it at 56 - 57 dB but is the correct tone that makes it seem even quieter.
The LED display looks good and provides a ton of information. At a glance you can see if UV is on or off, if you’re connected to wifi, the air quality of the room, and what fan setting you’re on. Which is more than I’m used to. By pressing the info button you also get how clean the air is in basic English (good, moderate, unhealthy, poor), the actual micron levels based on three different levels (PM2.5, PM 1.0, PM 10), and last the temperature and humidity of the room. Which is a new one for me as I’ve never seen that before and is one of my favorites. You can change the brightness from bright (100%), moderate (60%), dim (10%), and completely off (0%). When it is off, and you press a button the display will illuminate (at the dim setting) and then turn back off after a very short period. Which I like as I tend to use it in my room at night.
The device comes with physical touch capacitive buttons on the top along with a physical button remote. What is unique is that you have the same button combinations on both. You have your primary controls with dedicated buttons, then secondary controls by holding certain buttons down, and tertiary controls by pressing two buttons. Giving you a ton of customizability. Such as brightness levels, fan levels, fan type (diffuse, direct, wide), and oscillation (45, 60, 90, and 140 degrees), if the buttons are locked or not, and if it jingles or not when you turn it on/off. I did find that the oscillation is very slow and is one of my few cons. Along with that you can press a button to make it center itself and need to either wait for it to be centered and press the button or move it yourself (which I’m always hesitant to do out of fear of breaking it). The buttons on the device itself are capacitive/touch and are very responsive. The remote has physical buttons that feel great to use (mild pre/post travel with a strong satisfying quiet click) and is small, comfortable, and sturdy with an attractive design. It can attach to the side of the device if you want via magnets which is sweet. Last, with the LG ThinQ app you can connect to the device via Bluetooth/Wireless and have all the same controls. But I found the app to be rather slow (to connect but once connected is fast) and it tended to be faster for me to just use the remote or physical buttons to get something done. It also has a sleep mode which is interesting where you can do it for 1 – 12 hours at a time.
Overall, this air purifier/fan really took me by surprise and is a lot better than I originally thought it was going to be. My only complaints are that it is very large making it hard to place somewhere, is heavy making it harder to move around, with the modern look it may not jive well with some environments, oscillation is slow, and it doesn’t reorient itself automatically. Mine also came mildly defective as it was slightly tilted to the left and when you looked at the base you could see that the left side had almost no gap where the right side had a large gap. Thankfully, the fix was easy. I just laid the fan on its side and pulled mildly on the left side and it popped out to the original spot it is supposed to be in and it is now even. So now I have a large gap around the entire thing over a small one.

The LG PuriCare air purifying fan is the perfect addition to my living room. I used to have a Lasko tower fan in my living room, plus a separate air purifier. The fan eventually stopped oscillating and the air purifier was moved to the dog's room in the back of my house to help clean the air back there. This LG is just what I needed for my living room.
My first impression on the Aero Tower is how heavy it is. There is no chance of this thing falling over by accident. I actually had a bit of a struggle getting it up my stairs and into my living room. I was just caught off guard a little bit. Unpacking is a bit complicated as well since there are several items to remove in order to get it ready to use. There are several stickers and pieces of cardboard to remove, most in which to protect it during shipping. There is also a base that you need to snap together and then sit the fan on it.
You then power on the unit and it begins to circulate air. I then opened my LG app, which I already use for my OLED TV and ran the discovery option. It found the Aero Tower and installed the fan in a matter of a few minutes. It was actually so simple and was the easiest smart appliance I can remember installing.
The app shows you how to use the tower, it shows you your air quality and fan speed. You can set different fan speeds, or turbo speed. You can then turn on the oscillating speed and even set the degree of rotation. This was actually very cool as I had to lower the degree of oscillation in order for it to work to my liking. I then found the perfect fan speed for my warm living room and did not look back. I love this thing! My room feels nice and cool and the air is crisp. I do not regret this tower one bit! I cannot recommend this tower enough, everyone should have one in their main room.

The LG Puricare purifier has good size and airflow for both fan and air purifying use. The touch sensitive controls are easy to operate and a small remote is also included. The LG ThinQ app is another option that can be used to control and manage the purifier. Just make sure to download the official LG app, because there are a lot of third-party apps using the same name and similar icon.
Performance has been good. I have only used the unit for a few days, so I can’t offer any long-term observations but I like what I see so far. It has done a fantastic job on the dust and residue from recent home improvement work. Like other purifiers, the Puricare measures indoor air quality and adjusts filtering accordingly. The PuriCare contains a large removable true HEPA filter that filters down to 0.3 microns and monitors down to 1.0 PMI in addition to the usual 2.5 and 10 PMI found on most purifiers. It also has a UV sanitizing light underneath the filter. The fan blades are completely enclosed in the base, making it safer for homes with pets and small children. An optional anti-tipping plate is also included. The tower is pretty stable even without the base, thanks to it’s low center of gravity. It would take a pretty hefty push to tip it over.
Noise is tolerable. It’s not silent but is not overly loud, even on higher settings. The fan has ten speeds and oscillating airflow. Construction is solid and the unit has a notch to assist with carrying the fan. The LG Puricare is a decent competitor among mainstream purifiers and the tower design is functional while remaining aesthetically pleasing. It’s easy to operate, not too difficult to move and seemingly does a good job for the brief period I’ve used it so far.

The LG PuriCare AeroTower is a very tall and heavy (26lbs.) fan that can also clean the air in an 818 square foot area, let you know the current temperature, humidity and three different particulates in the room that it is in. The air in my home has always been pretty good so I don’t expect this to radically change that and the AeroTower confirms that my air is good. I do enjoy using it as a fan to keep us cool while we sit in front of it though and it does a great job of that. It is super quiet on most of the fan settings and even on the highest level, its not terribly loud. This AeroTower seems to do nearly everything, except heat, which is a bummer, it seems like the size of this and the price, a heating element could have been included in here since its biggest rival has that feature. That wasn’t a deal breaker for me though as I believe this has many features that still make it worth its price. There are four ways to control this, the first being the buttons on the top, which are limited in what they can do, for example, you can power it on, adjust the fan speed turn on rotation, change different modes (diffusion/wide). The included remote has a few more options but it is also limited in my mind. A side note, the remote can be attached to the side of the fan via built in magnets so you can always know where it is. The third and main way to control this is using the LG ThinQ app, which is a fantastic app. It works well, easy to set up and is simple to use. There are some ads on the app, but I don’t think they are too bad. I also use the app to control my LG TV, LG Fridge, and LG CordZero stick vacuum. Using the app allows you to really customize the fan and access all of its features. You can set the degrees of rotation, set up the wide and diffuser modes, adjust the speed of the fan, power on/off set schedules, turn on the UV Nano light, and preform smart diagnosis on the device to see if it is having any problems. This is where you can also view the status of the filter to see how much life is left and also more detailed information on the particulates in the room from PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10. Temperature and humidity are also reported in the app. Overall for air purifier in this price range, it does offer a lot, but lacks the heating element to make this the perfect addition to your home, besides that I still feel that it is a good price for what this can do and how well it is made and add the fact that LG warranties the parts for 10 years and you have a winner in my opinion.

Home air purifiers are a great thing to have to give you peace of mind that the air quality inside your home is as clean as it can be. This is especially important if you have dogs or cats. You want to make sure their dander in the air is not a problem. The LG PuriCare AeroTower is just the thing to check all these boxes. It has a lot of features and works in the background so you always know your air is as clean as possible without having to remember to turn it on. I've used the AeroTower for a solid couple of weeks and I'm really happy with the way it works and the overall air quality.
The basics
This is an easy air purifier to set up and it has a very modern look. It's quite tall and needs to stand on the floor (as opposed to a table top model), so you'll need to allow it some floor space. It's pretty much all plastic but it's also quite a solid build. It has a relatively small footprint so if you have large pets that think their small pets or small children, you can add the included larger floor base to it to give it a more solid footing. This is a larger circular disc that the AeroTower can sit on. It makes the purifier more stable when there's a chance that it may get bumped into.
The purified air exits from between the vertical fins, and to make sure it doesn't blow directly on you, it offers three mode settings. Wide, diffusion and direct. In wide node the exiting air blows out the front in a wide spread. In direct mode, there are vanes of plastic that come out of each of the fins to narrow the gap and create a more direct air flow. In diffusion mode, the internal vanes come together so that the exiting air is forced out the top. They all work as stated and which one you use will probably depend on where you place the unit and whether you like the air blowing on you or not. There is also an oscillation mode you can turn on if you want it to oscillate back and forth. The nice thing about this setting is that you can actually choose the how far the purifier rotates. 45, 60, 90 or 140 degrees. This is a really nice feature and lets you fine tune the rotation for placement in a variety of locations.
There's actually three different ways to control the AeroTower. You can simply plug it in and use the controls on top of the fins, or you can use the included remote control (which can attach to one of the fins via a magnet, so you can always find it), or my personal favorite, connect it to your home wireless network and use the free LG ThinQ app to monitor your home air quality from anywhere on the planet. Again it's all personal preference and they all work well.
Air purification
So, to understand how your air is getting purified, you need to read through the manual and you will see that the internal sensors will look at three different sizes of dust particles. PM10 (large), PM2.5 (medium) and PM1 (the smallest). Based on the dust concentration and overall particulate matter it senses, it gives you a quick color coded display with a basic one word display of either green – good, yellow – moderate, orange – unhealthy or red – poor. This lets you see at a glance how your air quality is.
In addition to that, you can look a little deeper and get the actual particulate count for each of the three different sizes of dust particles. This is cool to look at but I think for most people, the color indication is probably enough. On this particular AeroTower, you also have what they call UVnano. You can turn this additional feature on or off as you see fit. It's intent is to kill any harmful bacteria inside the unit so that the fan doesn't just blow it out at you. The circular replaceable filter inside the base is made up of a true HEPA filter, a deodorizing filter to help remove odors from cooking or other sources and an ultra fine filter to remove large dust particles. The filter needs to be replaced at the end of it's life span, which depends a great deal on how much filtering it does, and the display or the app will let you know the percentage of life the filter has remaining so you don't have to guess at when it needs to be replaced.
Overall
I really like this purifier. It has a huge amount of features that all work well. It's listed as an 818 square foot filter so it works well in a giant room or on the entire floor of a smaller home. It's easy to see if it's working by looking at the easy to read display on the front. You can see at a glance what your air quality level is. Every time we cook, it ramps up the air flow speed and we see the air quality level drop so we know it's doing what it needs to to clean the air. This is a really nice purifier with a modern look and plenty of adjustments to allow it to work well in any home or location.

LG - PuriCare AeroTower Air Purifying Fan is fan that moves filtered and sterilized air.
The LG Aero Tower occupies a unique, thoughtful, and functional niche in our home. It fulfills two extremely useful purposes. It offers comfortable air movement where it’s most useful and it also ensures that only pure, highly filtered air is moving around.
I’m always concerned that fans contribute to moving around dust and allergens in my home adding to my allergy issues. When someone says “fan” to me, I fully expect to have my sinuses block up within minutes and discomfort to set in.
I’ve also never depended on my air filters to move refreshing air around. After all, a typical air filter is designed to be hidden in out-of-the way locations where they wouldn’t be too useful for air movement.
The PuriCare AeroTower Air Purifying Fan changes all that and changed my mind. We like it a lot.
SETUP: Assembly is easy but requires some strength to lift and move this substantial tower. Be sure to strip plastic coverings away from the air vanes and hidden filter. Put the battery in the remote. There is an App and it’s certainly worth the minimal effort to put on your phone, it allows control of a few features. That’s it.
This 28lb purifying fan stands 3.5ft on its 10” round base. It’s doesn’t disappear, so you might as well place it where it serves your needs best. Controls are available on the top of the tower, on the remote control which conveniently attract magnetically to the top, side of the tower, or from the iOS or Android App. All settings are displayed on the 2” status panel on the front of the tower. This AeroTower is intended for rooms up to 818sqft.
OPERATION: The CONTROL PANEL provides 5 settings, ON/OFF, a SPEED button Up/Down (10 speeds), MODE button, an AUTO FAN button, and the ROTATION button selecting the angle of fan sweep.
All these buttons have alternate functions if you had down each button for 3 seconds. The MODE button also locks/unlocks the controls. The ROTATION button also initiates the WiFi connection. and a few combination button pushes add the ability to turn the sound off, turn the UV LEDs on and off, perform a SMART DIAGNOSIS, or reset the filter replacement. Don’t toss your instruction manual. The 10 tear motor
There’s also a REMOTE CONTROLLER. It has most of the previously mentioned controls, plus it adds a sleep timer. Holding several buttons for longer than 2 second modifies some of these functions.
Everything works as expected. The MODE button is the most unusual. It operates the sometimes hidden VANES which change how air is directed. WIDE results in a to-the-front breeze at the chosen speed. DIRECT closes the VANES slightly and intensifies the flow. DIFFUSION directs most air upwards and all around. Of course all air in motion has been filtered and sterilized by the UVnano system, enabled by pressing the Speed down and Rotation buttons on the control panel at the same time for 3 seconds (if it isn’t already on).
And there’s an App. It is pretty easy to set up and connect to WiFi, although I needed to use the manual approach. The only items I found useful were the ability to set some simple schedule routines and to run a Smart Diagnosis. Actual control access was not possible on this version of the App in early summer, 2022.
The Aero operates at extremely low sound levels, no matter which setting you have.
SUMMARY: The LG - PuriCare AeroTower Air Purifying Fan is an attention getter. It’s design is directly related to its function. It stands tall to creates a tall and steady stream of air, focused for added intensity or diffused, depending on the MODE. And all the air in motion has been effectively filtered and sterilized with UV light. In my home, that’s the only way I want to move air around. The result is kind’a like a trip to the mountains, but probably cleaner.

When I think about LG I think about many products but an air purifier isn’t one, until now! The blade free style fan has a couple of huge advantages especially if you have kids or pets. This style fan (though more expensive when you consider just the fan part) adds piece of mind that a young one or animal wont get hurt by a spinning blade. First thing you notice when unpacking and setting it up is this thing feels very well built and has some heft to it at almost 40 lbs.. For operation you can choose to use the included magnetic remote or connect the device with the LG thinQ app and gain more control and functionality. When adding the fan to the app, I recommend using the QR code on the back to set it up as it’s a much smoother process to get it online. The app allows you to monitor and control all the functions of the device from monitoring air quality to controlling the speed of the fan just to name a few.
When using it as a fan, it’s very quiet on all but the three highest settings. Even when using it on on the highest setting (turbo) it’s surprisingly not that loud. The fan has 11 fan speeds up to turbo and when using it as an air purifier it can be left in auto. When it’s in auto and you go to increase the fan speed, it resumes at the last speed you had it at before putting it in auto. If you’re looking for both an air purifier and a fan and want the piece of mind the blade free design gives you, the PuriCare is an excellent option.

Setup:
A majority of the time taken for the setup process is packaging. Once you cut the ties, you can slip the box off from the top. After, make sure to remove all the tape (follow the included instructions to ensure you do not miss any, especially the ones on the inner blades). Please read the instructions for the base. It is easy to use, but you do not want to set the device on it wrong and run the risk of injury or damaging the machine. I would highly recommend the THINQ application, which can be found on the app store of your phone (Android/iPhone). The AeroTower does come with a little remote to control it, and this can be stored magnetically to the side of the machine (top right fin). I prefer the THINQ app to control the device as I almost always have my phone on me.
Functionality:
The Aerotower has three modes: Wide, Direct, and Diffusion. Wide blows air straight out the front in a wide manner (hence, WIDE). Direct uses two blades to concentrate the air for a more direct airflow. Diffusion mode forces the air up. There are 10 overall speeds for the air and a TURBO mode. For me, I utilize 4 throughout the day and 8 at night. Overall, the AeroTower is very quiet and even at 8, I have no issues or complaints about the noise it produces. The AeroTower does have a HEPA filter at the bottom that filters out 99.99% of allergens and dust particles. It also has UVnano tech that sanitizes the fan blades, which is REALLY neat.
There is a small screen on the front of the tower that displays information like the level of air quality in your house or apartment. I do like this feature a lot (as simple as it sounds, its nice to know this information that you otherwise would have no clue about).
Overall, I love the device and can immediately tell the difference after running the AeroTower in my apartment. I am highly sensitive to dust and other allergens, and my allegories have improved (in a good way) significantly since I started using the AeroTower. Well worth the purchase!!

Looks great and works great

I’ve never had a bladeless fan before, but I really like this fan for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, it looks good, and I love that is tall and skinny but the base is wide enough to stand on its own without worrying about feet to add on that I always loose with regular box fans. There is a base plate that has screw holes that the directions say to use if you have infants which is nice as infants that use things to stand up can tip over things like dressers that aren’t secured properly.
Looks are definitely a requirement when looking at a product like the next import feature is the usability of it. I will say if you are interested in a high velocity fan that this isn’t the type of fan for you. It circulates air well and it feels good when you near it but it is far from high velocity. We have ours set on the highest setting (10) at night and it is perfect for that white noise and slight breeze that we want out of a fan. But of course, this is more than a fan as well. It is an air purifier; we had an air purifier and a fan in our room to try and help reduce the floaties in the air but his allowed us to get down to one nice looking compact device that is also a lot easier to control as it is smart and has a remote. This one says it is a great air purifier and I feel confident it is, but I don’t have a great way of testing that. It does tell us the air in our room is good though.
One of the features that I think I didn’t realize was good at first was the rotation, I like that its rotation is silent, with a regular fan you can hear the pitch change as the blades change direction, however with this is a more consistent noise which I appreciate.
Now the not so great, which is the smartness of it, it says that is compatible with Thin q, which it is and that is awesome, however, Thin q has Alexa and google assistant integration but not for this device (at least that I could get working). So, I don’t have voice control, if this matters to you then this may be a big downside but could be remedied in the future as well. If this isn’t important to you then I don’t have a downside to this device.

MEAN AIR CLEANING MACHINE!!!

The New LG AeroTower looks like something straight out of some futuristic movie but not as complicated. The AeroTower is pure 27 lbs. and 818 sq ft. of raw air cleaning and purifying power. The tower design combined with the bladeless fan and some fancy tech makes this one mean air cleaning machine. The AeroTower is the perfect air purifying fan offers different modes and setting that will fit in seamlessly in any room in your home. So, Lets go over some of the features of the New LG AeroTower Air Purifying Fan.
SETUP:
The setup process for this fan could not be any simpler, it literally took to about 10 minutes to set up and half of that time was removing this fan from its packaging. The fan does come with a magnetic remote controller that can be attached to it for safe keeping. The AeroTower can be used right out of the box, after removing the plastic from the filter, but to take full advantage of what this machine has to offer, I would highly recommend that you download the LG THINQ application. Once downloaded the tower is automatically picked up by the app and you can start your customization process. The application also shows you the air quality, humidity, and the temperature. The app also notifies if something is wrong with the unit and also when the filter needs to be changed.
The tower measures in at about 44in tall and about 11in in diameter. The unit weighs about 27 lbs. and can cover an area of about 818 sq. ft. The fan can be controlled multiple ways, either by remote, the touch sensitive buttons on the top of the tower, LG ThinQ application or your choice of either google assistant or Amazon Alexa. The fan has a really nice color display on the front which displays pertinent information, such as the current air quality, the fan speed and the air flow mode.
OPERATION:
This is where things start to get interesting with this air purifier and I must admit, it’s really cool. The AeroTower has three modes for directing the purified air, Wide, Diffusion and Direct. The wide mode is your normal airflow where the flow is directed straight out to the front. The Direct mode activates clear plastic walls that come out of the sides of the tower towards the center and they close slightly and the air flow is intensified for a direct airflow. For diffusion, the walls come together completely and the airflow is directed up and around. I must admit, this feature was really cool and actually works great. The tower has 10 speeds and a turbo mode. The tower is actually very quiet on all 10 speeds except for the turbo. The fan does get a bit louder on turbo but not annoyingly loud, but it does move some air around. At the base of the tower there is a HEPA filter that removes up to 99.9% of dust and allergens in the area as small as .3 microns. In addition to the HEPA filter, there is also UVnano LED that kills any bacteria on the fan blades for pure, clean and sanitized air.
I have been using the AeroTower in my home for a few days now I have set and running on auto on a set schedule from the app and I can honestly say that I can feel the difference in the air quality in my home. When I first plugged in the unit the air quality in my home was unhealthy and after running the tower for about an hour the unit started to display “Good” air quality. I did notice that when we start cooking in our house the air quality immediately downgrades, running the tower on auto adjusts the speed of the fan based on the air quality of the room.
Overall, I am very impressed with the New LG AeroTower Air Purifying Fan. Its modern look and design will fit into any home and in any room. The whisper quiet fan circulates the sterilized and allergen free air in your home, providing you with a breath of fresh air.

AeroTower of Clean Air Power

I was excited to receive the LG PuriCare AeroTower Smart HEPA Air Purifying Fan as the pollen and dust has been terrible this year and thought it may help. I have other air purifiers but this is the first unit with an fan as well. This is a big feature for our home as we need a fan solution to move cooler AC air around the house.
Unpacking - the box and unit are sizable but manageable. The AeroTower weighs just under 30 pounds so it is a substantial piece of equipment. Unboxing is straight forward by cutting the strapping and pulling the cover off the base/unit. There is tape and cardboard holding moving parts in place and a bag on the filter that needs to be removed before getting started. The battery needs to be installed in the remote control. From there the unit can be plugged in and is ready to operate.
Setup - Before turning the unit on I would recommend downloading the LG THINQ app. and connect the AeroTower with the setup instructions. Our AeroTower is placed on a balcony area outside our master bedroom. This is done to be able to clean the air in both rooms and to blow cooler air into our bedroom. At this point the AeroTower can be powered on with the touch controls on the top of the unit, the included remote control or with the THINQ app. The app was great since it provides additional air quality details, scheduling and easy to understand controls such as Mode, Speed, Rotation, screen brightness and UVnano operation.
Controls - As previously mentioned the AeroTower can be controlled with touch controls on the unit itself, the THINQ app or remote control. The controls are multi-functional when depressed for 2-3 seconds which provides for even more controls and customization. Controls on the unit are power, fan speed, mode, rotation (WiFi setup) and auto. The remote control's buttons mirror those functions found on the tower.
Function - The AeroTower has exceeded expectations in terms of its ability to purify air and work as a fan. The "mode" feature is one of my favorites as the fan output direction and strength can be adjusted from wide, diffused and direct airstreams. We use the direct setting and purified air is pushed almost 15 feet into our bedroom. Both the app and the LED display on the tower shows the existing air quality in a range from good, moderate, unhealthy to poor. When it was first turned on it was in the "moderate" range and has since changed to "good" with use over the course of a week. The noise level is very comfortable even when set to 10 on the fan speed. Turbo is a bit on the loud side, but we frequently use it at that speed.
The combination of the HEPA filter and LG's UVnano technology provides a piece of mind that air is being purified to the utmost degree. The HEPA filter is good for a year and is a snap to remove from the tower.
Pros:
- Great build quality and contemporary design
- Ability to purify air and function as a fan is bonus
- THINQ app is super easy to use and provides total control for the tower
- Quiet operation
- HEPA filter and UVnano technology combine to provide piece of mind
Cons:
- Unit is approximately 28 lbs. so it's not easily moved (although there is a built in handle)
Overall the LG PuriCare AeroTower has exceeded our expectations and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an air purifier system. It's loaded with features, provides air quality feedback and is a good looking unit.

Two-in-One, Both Air Purifier and Fan!

I'm totally impressed by this air purifying fan. I own another well-known brand's purifiers and have them in just about every room throughout my home. Yet, because of LG's brand reputation for quality and performance, I wanted to see how their purifier compared. And what I found was that while this LG PuriCare AeroTower Air Purifying Fan is not inexpensive, the quality is absolutely 'there' so it's more than worth it.
Setting up the air purifier for the first time was quick and easy. Just follow the included guides. Removing the packing materials is super important and needs to be done in the proper way. There is an app - LG ThinQ - which you're going to want to install on your mobile device. You can, of course, use the air purifier without the app since there are touch controls on the top of the device, but the app does have some handy features and provides greater detail to refer to.
And I can testify that this air purifier works. I had made pancakes in my kitchen one morning and have the AeroTower set up in the adjacent living room area. The display reading on the front changed from 'Good' to 'Unhealthy' and then to 'Poor' before the purifier "cleaned" the air, and within 10-15 minutes the air quality returned to 'Good.' I do not consider this to be a negative reflection of my cooking. ;) But rather, that the air in the two rooms had become a bit stuffy, and while not smokey, heavy might be a better word. And the air purifier registered that, as it should.
I really do recommend this LG air purifier/fan. It's quite simply awesome! There are just so many amazing features. In the handy (and easy to navigate) app, you can see a breakdown of what the device is monitoring, in real time - such as air quality, room temperature and humidity. You can change 'Modes', fan speed, rotation, display brightness, set up a schedule, view the status of your current filter, and run the 'Smart Diagnosis' feature which means the device does a self-diagnosis as a way to troubleshoot and check it's own status. Good stuff.
Replacing the filter is a simple and easy process. Plus, you only should need to do this once per year. There's the ability to schedule air filter auto replenishment through the app, if you so choose.
And there is even a remote control. On one particular magnetized spot on the side of the AeroTower itself, is a place to 'stick' the remote should you not want to use it or lose it. Handy.
Now, for something on the more 'fun and silly side' ... to me, this LG AeroTower reminds me of Sauron's Dark Tower from "Lord of the Rings." I'm actually tempted to get a glowing eye to place on top, which would in no way affect the air purifier from working as intended.
But in all seriousness, this LG PuriCare AeroTower Air Purifying Fan is a solid machine. Definitely worth it's higher price point, and should most certainly continue providing awesome performance for years to come (with proper care and maintenance). I'm thoroughly enjoying mine and consider this LG a wonderful compliment to the other (different brand's) air purifiers that I have in my home.

I recently purchased the LG Air Purifier and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations.
Performance: The air purifier's True HEPA filtration system is incredibly effective at capturing even the tiniest particles. I suffer from allergies, and since using this air purifier, I've noticed a remarkable reduction in sneezing and congestion.
Sleek Design: The LG air purifier's modern design blends seamlessly into my home decor. The touch-sensitive controls are intuitive and easy to use, making it hassle-free to customize settings to my preferences.
Quiet Operation: One of the standout features is the near-silent operation. Even on higher fan speeds, the purifier remains impressively quiet.
Smart Features: The smart features on this air purifier are a delightful surprise. I can control it remotely through the LG app, which comes in handy when I'm away and want to ensure clean air upon returning home. The real-time air quality monitoring gives me peace of mind knowing that the purifier adjusts its performance based on the air quality.
Energy Efficiency: I appreciate how energy-efficient this purifier is. It doesn't cause a noticeable spike in my electricity bill, even when running continuously.
Easy Maintenance: Cleaning and replacing filters is a breeze. The indicator lights and app notifications make it clear when it's time to change filters, so I never have to worry about subpar performance due to neglect.
