Excellent UHD DVD Player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this player for several weeks. It has played flawlessly and is fast in operation. It does not have many apps other than the usual Netflix and a few other. This was not important to me as I use Roku for my apps. As a UHD DVD player it is highly recommended by me.

Cumbersome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the LG as a Christmas present - matching LG TV figuring ease of remote, linking, et al. And that's my complaint. Picture is GREAT; ease of set-up GREAT; as for streaming - EPIC FAIL. The player remote will turn on & link to the TV automatically but not shut off / return. The Netflix password is not remembered thus you must log in with username & password each use. Don't tell me this isn't possible - have a Toshiba that performs this seamlessly via a Sony TV! Should have taken it back but it was a present . . . .

Nice player with Dolby Vision.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to play 4k disks with my LG smart TV, and they work well together. It does play Dolby Vision with no fuss. This full width unit seems more substantial than some other brands. No display other than a power indicator, but it does have tray open/close and play buttons on the unit itself. I do like having the power supply in the unit; no bulky external power module taking up space on the plug strip.

A solid 4K player
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for the HDR, as it supports more than the comparably priced Sony at the time. My main complaint is the lack of additional apps, it comes with YouTube and Netflix and that's it, seemingly no way to add more. And the Netflix pulls ads at twice the right of my integrated Chromecast if you're not logged into Premium YouTube, so it's like they're subsidizing the cost of the device through ads, like new TVs do. All in all, still glad I went with this model: 4k is crisp and blu ray looks just as good. Hasn't been a single disc it couldn't read.

Can't beat the value
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great player and value for a 4K player. Easy to set up. The width makes it too wide for most cabinets. Love the picture and sound that I get with my 4K tv and 5.1 sound system.

Awesome Product
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG UBK90 replaced the Sony Blu-Ray Player that I purchase in April 2010. I just unplugged the HDMI Cable and power plug from the old player and plugged in the same HDMI cable into the new player and powered up. The set up was the same that I had used on the old player. Buttons on the new player are smaller but I seldom use buttons I use the remote. The LG UBK90 remote is a smaller version of the old remote that works in sync withe the new player so I am using the old remote for now. So enough said about easy of use. The picture quality surpasses 5 stars. I know I got a great deal for my money that included a 6ft High Speed HDMI Cable, a large screen cleaner bottle (200ml) and a 1 year extended warranty that I know I will not need. Another great LG product.

Great 4K BD Player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The top reviews are pretty spot on, so I'll address some of the concerns a few have raised: This player has not frozen on me once. I played only two 4k movies so far, Infinity war and Thor Ragnarok. Not a singe hiccup. I have it paired with a Vizio P65 F1 and there are no issues at all. I did buy new certified HDMI cables for the setup of the new TV and the player. I believe many problems with 4k TVs or players are due to people using old cables. My unit is very quiet as well. Yes, there's nothing fancy about the design and built of the unit and the interface is very unappealing. And to me, the fact that it only has netflix and youtube is a plus. I don't use apps from my players and I like the fact that the unit isn't bloated with them. Non-issue for me. Overall I would recommend it.

Great 4K player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was choosing between this and sony but decided to go with this one. It is bigger than the sony equivalent. This has dolby vision which is what i was looking for a player. The quality is good. It plays quietly. Not a lot of features.

Excellent and Easy to use Bluray player with 4K.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent Blu-Ray Player. Even my older DVD and non 4K discs appear better displayed via this player. Very easy to set up and use. Minor point. this player will not shut off entirely, but has a red standby light. I hooked it up to a switchable power source so I can completely shut off all electricity going into this player. This has no impact for most folks. However, I was sharing a HDMI switch between this player and a Roku device. Since this Blu-ray player never shut off, I could not switch to other devices connected to my HDMI hub. That is why I rerouted the power cord for this Player so I could completely turn off the electricity.

Movies are better with this Blu-Ray Player!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this along with an LG OLED TV and am blown away by how great movies look!! Before buying this, make sure your TV supports Dolby Vision. It's not worth spending this much if you don't have the technology to truly enjoy it. The player also produces amazing digital audio! There are lots of other bells and whistles that I don't need or use because my TV and streaming device share similar technologies. So...if you are looking for a 4K Blu-ray player with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos capabilities and have the other equipment to make it work, this is a great piece to add to your home theater system. If not, there are very capable players out there with much better value.

Solid dvd player, highest marks for quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does what it is supposed to do, and the price wasn't too outrageous. It's kind of a shame that I couldn't find as good a device without all the redundant streaming wifi stuff, though. All I want from this is to play dvds in top resolution and sound, and it totally does that. Since my tv, and all my streaming devices, can handle the streaming/online load just fine, adding the capability to the dvd player seems a bit too much gild on the lilly. Still, it is a very nice piece of kit.

Great 4K option
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great stable 4K player with the advantage of playing Dolby Vision content. For those still utilizing a 1080 display yet want the advantages of the better audio tracks this player down converts very well from 4K.

Great 4k player
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome 4k blu ray player the main reason i bought it is because i wanted it for the Dolby Vision and let me say if have a 4k Tv with Dolby Vision then you need this player cause 4k blu rays with Dolby Vision look amazing the only reason the 4 stars and not 4 is well build quality is nothing special at all its all plastic not heavy at all these blu ray players there just not made like they use to be there isn't even a display on the front of the player these if you want good build quality on a player you need to spend like 500 bucks but if your on a budget then this one works really good.

Solid player. No frills.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was excited to get this home and hooked up and be able to stream direct without having to cast anymore. No-go, as there are only two streaming apps accessible with this player and neither of them are ones that I use. I assumed that there would be a browser app so I could go to websites for my accounts like Disney+, etc. But no browser app at all. Cannot access any of my streaming accounts through this unit, therefore, it is NOT a streaming player for me. And it won't be a streaming player for many buyers unless you are looking to stream one of the only two available apps.

Solid 4k player
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read all the reviews, talked to a BUNCH of folks and took the plunge with this monkey. I had just purchased a LG OLED tv and this player was on sale. It has everything I want. I stream using the TV so it doesn't matter to me that this only has Netflix and UTube. I wanted a solid player with doldy atmos and picture and I'm very happy with this one. I played some older Blu-ray discs I have as well and they look awesome. Prometheus, regardless of story quality, looks like a new film. sucker punch:same. All the 4k films I have played so far are knockouts. Worth the 199.99

A Great LG Blu-ray Player
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the LG Blu-ray player to be very easy to set up and to use in general. The picture is faultless. I haven't tried streaming through the unit yet. I don't have a subscription service to a Hi-Res audio source. But the sound from all the Blu-ray discs is excellent. And I am very pleased with the build quality and Best Buy's price. I would recommend this unit to anyone for the sale price of $200. It's a bargain at that price.

Works Well and Has Dolby Vision
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this 4K Blu Ray Player with my OLED 4K TV -- a great pairing! What I wanted was a 4K Blu Ray player that will play everything I throw at it (4k Blu Ray, 1080p Blu Ray, DVD, CD). This thing just works. Older content (I still have a lot of DVDs) look about as good as you can expect. And this has an excellent implementation of Dolby Vision (so you can take advantage of discs that support that advanced HDR format). The player automatically recognizes when a disc has Dolby Vision, and switches Dolby Vision on and off accordingly. Only real negative: the user interface is very dated, but that's not something that I care about.

Great 4K player. LG fixed their issues.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This player is much better (though probably the same model rebadged) than their last 4K player. The UP-970 had issues with vibrating disc drive that could annoy you during a movie because it was so loud. They also had Dolby Vision issues. If you didn't get the updates immediately; you missed out. This model is ready to go out of the box. No vibrations this time and Dolby Vision installed on the latest firmware. One of the cheaper 4K players on the market. Grab it when it goes on sale.

Great and affordable Dolby Vision blu-ray player
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This LG 4k blu-ray player with Dolby Vision exceeds my expectations in every department. It also also plays very nicely with my LG C2. Fantastic picture quality and performance for DVDs, blu-rays, and 4k blu-rays. Tv must be capable of Dolby Vision to engage that mode. A fantastic, affordable option for those looking for one of the best cinematic home experiences possible.
