Ok so yes this is considered a budget player. That said I've had it for about 18 months and use it quite often and it's never failed me once. Discs load quickly, everything plays just fine. HDR and Dolby Vision work great and look beautiful on my tv. I don't use the player for streaming as everything is on my Roku tv but the streaming of YouTube does work just fine. Playing music through a USB port or reading a burnt disc is a non issue as it plays everything just fine. If you can catch it on sale for $150 like I did it's a steal of a deal! Does it perform like a $500 Panasonic? Of course not. But it does perform and performs well! If you want a solid 4K player that's a step up from your Xbox but won't break the bank this is your best option.

    A great 4K UHD Blu-Ray player!

For years, we've had a 4K TV but we had been using a standard blu-ray player (though, to be fair, this is due to the fact that we do use streaming services quite a bit). We recently decided that we wanted to buy 4K blu-rays of our favorite movies and, as such, we needed a new player. This one didn't disappoint. It does a great job of playing all of our discs (DVD, blu-ray, 4K blu-ray) and the user interface is pretty good (although it's not as good as that of, say, our Apple TV 4K). The player itself looks nice in our home theater setup. My only gripe -- and this is a fairly minor one -- is that the remote control isn't the best. It looks a bit cheap and and we've found that we have to be fairly deliberate when we point it for it to be effective. That being said, we got this on sale for about $179 and it's proving to be a tremendous value. The only metric that I can't really comment on is the long-term durability of the player since we've only had it for about a week, but I'll try to update this review at some point in the future. All in all, this is a solid 4K blu-ray player at a great price and I'd highly recommend it.

I haven’t used it much yet, but I really enjoy this 4K player the times I have used it. It is easy to setup (basically plug and play). The video quality is great when paired with a 4K TV. I previously had a Sony 4K player and this was on par with it in every way.

I wanted a player with Dolby Vision support. My receiver and monitor were capable, so I hooked this player up and...wow! The colors are just as good or better than streaming UHD Vudu. There is a charm to physical media, so now I get the charm and Dolby Vision too.

This is a great BlueRay player. It even makes your BlueRays that aren’t 4K like a 4K. I’m very impressed. The only extra I would add is the player is much larger than the standard blueRay players

Very good for the price. Very good visual and sound quality. Remote could be more user friendly. Have to figure out on your own what buttons to use to perform specific functions. Easier to just use the machine’s own buttons.

I own disks therefore this is a must. Problem is it does everything the tv already does besides playing disks and you pay for it. I just need a great 4k player to complement my tv not replace what the tv can do. This is far to over priced as is its competitors. I wanted and need a 4k player. There are too few choices and I'm taking it out on this review. Today you have region free options. Know your region in the world. A or B or C etc. Then buy discs locally in stores or when you shop online make sure it tells you what region it is before you place your order. If your region A then buy for region A. Newer player options that say region free let you play anything. You don't want to pay hundreds for this any region option if you don't have to. Technology has stalled for 4k blue ray players. They should be much cheaper as of 2020 and there not.

If you are looking for a great no frills 4K Blu-ray player, this is right on for that. Don’t bank on getting many apps on this, it only has a couple and doesn’t have a way to add to it. If you lose the remote like I recently did, you can start and stop via the player itself.

Puts out a beautiful picture, software is nicely responsive, and the audio is great too. The only things I would ding it on are 1) it does not have an Amazon app and 2) the remote control isn't backlit or particularly ergonomic. So far I would definitely purchase it again.

This is a great no frills 4K blu-ray player. Has wifi for the live feature on blu-ray movies. Dual HDMI output for those who don't have a 4k UHD stereo receiver. Fast loading times for movies and good playback quality. Cheaper player I have found that has dolby vision capabilities.

I chose this vs waiting for PS5 or another as I was pairing it a new LG OLED and I wanted simple compatibility. It is a no-nonsense 4K DVD player. Easy to setup and pair. I attached it to my Denon 2700 AVR. No complaints.

Overall this is a great 4K player. Pros: Great playback quality, not noisy, temperature controlled, large and comfortable remote control, quick navigation, smooth disc tray, trusted brand Cons: Akward powering on and off, takes a few presses of the remote. When turning on and off with the front buttons on the face of the machine, it sometimes doesnt register. I suggest never pressing the eject button when the machine is off, it sometimes will lag and do nothing, sometimes pops out the disc tray and pulls it back in fast. In short, use this machine gently and with proper conduct in exact fashion it should be used, and you get wonderful quality!

Just upgraded to 4K blu ray combined with my 4K tv bought a few 4K movies and it is amazing the difference in picture quality. I’m very happy with this player. Only downside is it is larger than our last player but it is not so big it becomes a deal breaker.

Yes. It’s a 4K player. A lot more money for slightly more quality. And who buys discs anymore?? Good to have if you happen to pick one up. Super basic, no bells and whistles - but great if you really want to see who shot first.
