I loved the simple, sleek design. It fits on one of the cubbys in those giant square Ikea shelves. You know the one. My old one didn't so I had to replace it. Then I went and bought one for my mom for her birthday (which is this purchase). Still holding up!

We were excited about getting this Blu-ray player. Just got it in the mail today, and can't use it for streaming because it requires a direct cable connection to our router. I didn't see that listed anywhere. Sucks we have to now venture out to the store to return it and find something that will work.

I have had this LG player for about 2 months now. It has so far met all MY particular needs which was to have a great priced DVD player that will play Bluray DVD and upscale others. I have used it about 5 to 6 times and it has seamlessly played DVD's with great visual and audio quality. Setup was very very easy, remote is logical to use if not a bit on the smaller side, but that's not a big deal. It also has a USB port conveniently located upfront if you want to share pics or vids or even music that you have stored on a flash drive. It works great with my Samsung flatscreen an LED model right before 4K came out. Results are stunning great clarity and also worked will the LG soundbar I have paired to this TV as well. Does not come with an HDMI cable so be sure to have one for fastest set-up. Don't hesitate with this one if you just need a basic blu-ray player that is small and quiet and won't break the bank!!

It’s a functional Blu-ray player. Definitely need to be aware that its internet connectivity is wired only. The menus look pretty outdated, and it won’t give you the same experience as a Roku or fire tv stick. However, for the core purpose of playing dvds and Blu-ray’s, it does a good job. It’s small, has a simple remote, and easy to use. I generally think the Sony players are a little better quality, but this player is a good value.

I purchased this because I've never owned a blu-ray player, to my surprise it is also a dvd player as well. When I realized this I thought that there would be individual compartments for each mode, but its all in one!! Unbelievable price point as well considering what I have here. I LOVE today's technology, a click on the remote is all thats required. very easy to navigate, my movies are sharp and clear,

While this doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player, it's a decent option that will serve a budget-conscious shopper well. Even at this price point the picture and sound quality is superior to that of a DVD player. While the Internet-based apps require use of an Ethernet cable, those function smoothly as well and set-up was easy and painless. If you're trying to decide between this and a DVD player, do yourself a favor and just buy this option. In addition to being able to play DVDs, you'll have Blu-ray capability and streaming via Ethernet (no wi-fi capability at this price point) for only a few dollars more.

Wanted a small, not too expensive DVD player for our camper. We looked at several, they were a little big...and then we saw this one. It was around $50. The salesperson told us a little about it - and informed us it was also a blu-ray player. A bonus for us! Works great, easy to set up and use.

Bought this to have a blue ray player in living room as I usually use my PS4 in my bedroom. This is small, built well and decently priced. Perfect for my needs as I dont need it for its "smart" capabilities as already have the smart TV so cant attest to those features but for simply playing a BR DVD it's perfect, intuitive and easy to use.

This Streaming Blu-Ray player is an amazing quality piece of tech at a great price. I look forward to using it for months and years to come, enjoying quality family time with my children and husband.

I love this Blu Ray Player. I deduct one star since it isn't WiFi; which I knew going in, but I don't feel like hooking it up to Ethernet for updates. I find that when it comes to electronics LG stuff is simple and just seems to work, exactly what I was after. Bought this as a Black Friday special and a Christmas gift to myself. It plays Blu Ray and regular DVDs look spectacular. My old up-scaling DVD player just sat there and spun and paused the discs and never seemed to know what it was doing. This LG just works and seamlessly at that.

AFTER 6 WEEKS: A VERY RELIABLE PLAYER.... Applications: I will preface by saying: I am using this player exclusively for Standard 1080P Full HD Bluray Disc and Standard DVD's disc movies. I have also played Standard CD music discs. I have NO interest in streaming anything. So I am not using the streaming component functions. This BP175 does NOT play 4K Bluray Discs. I have another player for 4K bluray discs. Functionality: This BP175 has functioned smoothly and efficiently. Thus far, this player has responded well to all navigational remote control commands, and is reasonably expedient in doing so. The only hiccup occured a few days ago, when I admittedly pressed several commands .....one after the other. That caused the BP175 disc transport to get a bit jumbled up, and make a little noise. The screen flashed to black, flickered a bit...then found it's way to the disc menu. I over loaded the player with too many commands, all at once. However, I have seen this happen with many much more expensive, higher end players. Being patient, and pressing one command at a time, and waiting for the player to complete each command; rewards me with smooth functionality. Discs: I have noticed that some discs ( both 1080P Blu Ray Discs and DVD Discs) cause the disc transport to make a little noise, while loading disc content and the disc menu. While other discs load nearly silently and smoothly. However, this only occurs during loading of the disc content or navigating the disc menu. When I click " Enter " or " Play " and it starts playing the movie or TV Show, the transport is very quiet. So, this does not bother me, whatsoever. Not a problem. I believe this loading and menu navigating noise, is a consequence of all the varying encoding techniques/languages, file implementations and disc mastering methods. The BP175 has played every disc I have fed it, thus far. Picture Quality: Beautiful picture on high quality source material. If you have a high quality filmed/produced disc, the picture is beautiful. This applies to both 1080P Blu Ray Discs and standard DVD 480P Discs. My standard DVD of Season One of the tv show.... Touch ( with Kiefer Sutherland),looks awesome!! So high quality standard DVD's will look as good as the source material was created. My 1080P Blu Ray movie of Tom Cruise's Oblivion, is stunningly beautiful. The clarity of details, the pleasant smoothness and colors. Incredible!! 1080P Blu Ray movies: Jennifer Lawrence's Joy, Christian Bale's Exodus God and Kings, The Purge ( the original Purge movie 2013): All three look fantastic. Some standard 480P DVD's look .....not so great. But that's because of the quality of how they filmed the movie / TV Show. Lower quality filming and production values, or lower quality Disc Transfer values will result in lower quality picture display. That's the reality. This BP175 is capable of producing gorgeous picture quality!! Conclusion: This BP175 is great little player. And a bargain, for it's price. I gave it 4 Stars, because: I would prefer LG commit themselves to a much more sturdy and solid disc transport design. The disc trey and transport are one of the lesser, bottom end transports. A bit flimsy in materials and design. I would pay more, for an LG robust and solid disc trey and transport design. Which would increase the longevity and long term performance of the transport. Otherwise, so far, so good!! We'll see on the longevity of the BP175, and I will update my review, over the next 6 months.
