    Unreliable & Nothing Spectacular

I liked my Sony player with generally the same features and price a little bit better, but the Sony has some kind of flaw where it locks up and never works again (Sony s3700). Sony replaced it three times before I gave up. The Sony has easier and quicker Netflix and YouTube access than this LG. More apps in Sony player than the LG. Was also able to program Sony remote to control my tv, LG remote has a very small list of TVs that it can control. LG remote also only works at very close range, pointed directly at player with NO obstructions. The LG remote app for your phone is worthless and doesn’t work most of the time. lG freezes frequently and can only be unfroze by unplugging. Although LG player works more often than not (in my opinion it should always work and freezes too frequently) I am generally not impressed with this unit. There simply does not seem to be any players in this price range that are actually reliable.

Outdated technology that doesn't work well

I bought this Blu ray player on sale recently and was looking forward to the apps to connect to online content. I have been greatly disappointed. I was excited to watch baseball through the MLB app but that doesn't work on this unit because it can't handle their signal. While watching Netflix or Amazon Prime, the player hangs up and playback becomes choppy and the machine eventually freezes and becomes unresponsive. I can't even turn it off and have to unplug it. I also often have to re-enter my wifi password because the player loses the connection to my router. I worked with LG tech support several times to try to fix the problem and they finally offered my money back to apply to a new player. That was a couple of weeks ago and so the jury is still out about whether or not LG will make good on that promise.

Works fine as a Blu-Ray Player

This player works fine as a Blu-Ray Player. The Menu is really odd, in that it is geared toward being a multi-media device as a Smart Blu-Ray player, however, it seems like it would automatically just go to the Blu-Ray when you put it in instead of needing to navigate to it. As for the Apps, navigating the menu remains difficult and slow. The Apps all load very slowly and the WiFi it questionable. My router is a mere 12ft away from the unit and it has difficulties with the connection. It wouldn't be such a big deal if this unit had wired network connectivity, but it doesn't! This unit is WIFI ONLY! Had I realized that I would not have purchased it. Overall, LG needs to make the menus easier to navigate and improve the speed and connectivity issues so that the Apps are actually a useful feature as opposed to a frustrating one that makes you want to go out and buy a Roku box instead.

When we first hooked it up it wouldn't even connect to Netflix or YouTube. When it trys to hook to Netflix it ends up freezing and then we have to unplug it to unfreeze it. It would play Hulu for a bit then freeze so again we had to unplug it to unfreeze ir. So my wife did the upgrades it needed. It will hook up to YouTube long enough to sign in then boots you right back to home screen. It will hook to Netflix but buffers most of the time or freezes. It hooks to Hulu for awhile then freezes. My wife is a huge faithful LG customer and she's blown away. Hopefully we will figure it out soon.

The Eject Button and Power Button Confusing

The Eject Button and Power Button are Confusing, both are round, although one is bigger, one is smaller, but it is still need some effort to press. The Eject sign and Power sign on each button are not easy to recognize. The Buttons could be as larger as possible, easy to be seen clearly (especially in a shadow or dim light situation) and easy to be pressed. There is no ethernet port for this product if I want to use wired network rather than wi-fi. It is lack of this option compared with other brand product at the similar price. I don't like the outer design of the device - many small cubes - like always covered with a layer of something or like it has been used for a long time, worn out, not brand new, although it is actually brand new.(This is just personal point of view)

Great disc player but terrible streaming player

    Posted
    cohiker

This player provides direct streaming access to only a few content providers (Netflix, Hulu, MLB, a couple others). Any other content provider (such as Crackle, Tubi, etc) can be accessed only by using a smartphone app. I was expecting an "app store" similar to what is provided by Sony or Samsung where you can download apps to view content from a variety of providers. This model plays discs well enough, but really falls short as a streaming player. If all you want to do is play discs, this model is fine. If you want to stream content, you must be able/willing to do it through your smartphone.

    Mediocre for streaming

The LG is an entry level Blu-Ray device that is to play movies and stream from the web. The issues I have had is with “start-up” for streaming. Once the player is turned on it goes to its first screen, gives the icon that it is connecting to internet, then goes to a blank white screen. It never reconnects, won’t allow you turn it off. You must manually disconnect from power source, reconnect to power and start process over. Typically, by second or third time it will connect and I can select my streaming subscription. It has no problems for loading a Blu-Ray movie.

Not happy with Wi Fi capability

After many years of loyal service with another LG wi fi DVD, this model was purchased to augment viewing options in the Master Bedroom upstairs. Wi Fi capability is very weak and NetFlix repeatedly froze, despite attempting downloads for new patches, etc. Purchased a Lynksys router signal extender and located it five feet from the DVD player per Lynksys installation instructions and signal strength. No improvement with LG DVD but upstairs users report faster Wi Fi reception. Will attempt to swap new DVD with old DVD in hopes of older model having stronger Wi Fi capability. If not, then back to Best Buy for a refund. It does play traditional DVDs fine, but that's not what it was purchased for.

Worked great for about two hours after we had it. Set up was easy, everything looked great and updated with ease. We watched a show on netflix and then watched a movie. After the movie we switched it back to netflix just to see if it was still working since streaming is a big compliant for this model and sure enough it stopped working. Called netflix, gave us the usual turn off and unplug everything routine, still nothing and she suggested a factory reset. We didn't do the factory reset because if this is what we have to do every time it decides not to work, it's not worth it. Also, There is no wired Ethernet port in the back of this device, so We couldn't even see if that would make a difference to get it steaming better. Taking it back and trying for a Sony or samsung.

    Terrible Streaming

Please, save your time and buy something else. I have purchased other LG Blu Ray players and have not had problems, but this one (BP350) shouldn't have been passed as usable. Other reviews I have read confirms this is an overall product issue and not just that I got a faulty one. Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube all freeze, and then freeze the system - making you have to unplug and re plug the unit. And even after that, the streaming is not great. I know it isn't our internet because our Apple TV works just fine. We will definitely be returning this item, because it is useless. Its too bad because I really liked the interface. I didn't get to test the Blu Ray player or DVD because after two days of faulty use I gave up on it.

Got the LG to be compatible with the TV. Keep losing wifi network connection (but may be service provider?). Have to keep re-entering the wifi login, which is time consuming and annoying. Netflix freezes and buffers, but again, might be Netflix or internet. One negative is the flimsy remote control. It's small and cumbersome and does not connect well with the Blu-ray player. Have to point it exactly in front of the player, which is up high. It is not a good remote controller. I'll say that I would recommend, but not high rating, maybe it will work better with another wifi system. Recommend getting a better universal remote control.

I purchased this several weeks ago, and it constantly disconnected from my wifi, and would stop playing in the middle of episodes on both hulu and Netflix. I thought it was just a faulty one, because my LG tv works beautifully. I went back and exchanged it for another one, and the new one is doing the same thing. I checked my router and my connections with my wifi and there is no problem with either of them. So, it was the blu-ray player. I am taking it back tomorrow to exchange it for a sony. It worked fine for the blu-ray, but is not a good model to purchase if you will be doing a lot of streaming.

I purchased this DVD player to go with my LG TV and LG Soundbar. I set it up as directed watched a movie, no problems. Wanted to watch Netflix but that wasn't happening. Did everything that was stated on directions but no luck. I went so far as to factory reset and start all over to think I did something wrong initially, well that didn't cut it. It would pull Netflix up but wouldn't load eve after 10 minutes. I just wanted an extra DVD player for a guest room, but I guess I will got back to Samsung.

I was clueless which blue ray player to buy and a nice guy in the store helped me to pick this one up. I didn't get to use it for a week and a half because I forgot an hdmi cable and then when I did use it I relaized that it lacks a screen to tell you how long the movie has been running. That's really annoying and I wish I had known because I would be purchased a different model. Also this 1-2 week return time In ridiculous! You should get a month to try things out- even if you hit me with a small restocking fee it'd be fine as long as you give people some time to try things out.

After having returned this unit twice, I did a little more research online and discovered from several professionals that this player only works well when it is in the same room with your router, otherwise it constantly disconnects from your wifi. It was very frustrating, and probably shouldn't be listed as a wireless player, when it really needs to be connected to the router to avoid service disruption

    Freezes and loses WiFi settings

This is a new purchase and it keeps freezing up randomly in the Netflix app. I also have had to reset the WiFi settings including the tedious password entry every time I've used it. Since others seem to be having the same problem it's not just one bad unit. Two stars because it does seem to play disks OK but who knows. I plan to try to return it. Disappointing because I wanted it to match up with my other LG devices.

Bought this player over the Sony to begin with because it was slightly cheaper and I only wanted it mainly for the internet purposes. Worked okay for about a month and then it wouldn't stay connected the the Internet and had problems ever since. Should have known it would happen because the guy at the store warned me people had troubles with it and I should buy the Sony. Needless to say I returned it and bought the more expensive Sony he recommended.

    Disappointed

Easy hook-up and the streaming works great. What stinks was I put a DVD in and it started to freeze or no sound here and there. I tried another DVD, same thing, I tried another, same thing, I tried another same thing. I know what your thinking, maybe the DVD's were bad. NO WAY, we checked the DVD's.....all 10 of them and same problem. I got a LEMON and going to return it. There went our movie watching evening.

I may be a little bias and spoiled since I am more team sony when it comes to electronics, but this is a very basic Blu-ray player. It’s not user friendly either. With today’s evolving times I would assume the remote would contain shortcut buttons for Netflix and such but sadly it doesn’t. The remote itself is extremely tiny as well. Once again this LG was not for me.
