We bought this disc drive and are amazed with how quiet it is. Definitely worth every penny

There is no lag or sticking on this drive. Everything is very smooth.

Easy product to plug it and use. Nice when you have to install info from a CD to you computer or other devices.

The unit I purchased is recent as of 1-4-18. It will not play standard DVDs (movies). When I right-click on the drive from Windows Explorer there is no option to choose a program to play the DVD. All I see is the option to view the files contained within the DVD. When I went into Devices and Printers to troubleshoot the error Windows gave me a message that said "USB mass storage device is an older USB device and might not work with USB 3.0." I *did* have it plugged into a USB 2.0 port though. Also, when I clicked on the Autoplay option (which was only available from Device Manager) I was only given the choice to purchase another app from the Windows store even though I had several apps on my PC. I should note here that I attempted to operate the device from two different Windows 10 PCs (one a Dell and the other a HP, both less than a year old), so the problem I wasn't with either of those devices. I was able to install the software that came with the unit with the option to "Install or run program from your media." I then tested the device on a Windows 7 PC and the first DVD movie I inserted instantly loaded without any prompting. I should also mention that the device I received does not match the item in the photo. On the item in the photo, the logo on the far left (or right) of the device has "M" (swirly "O" thing) "Disc". Mine simply has "M-Disc" printed on it. I haven't seen this design anywhere. I really am disappointed as I was looking forward to a owning a durable unit (it's very 90s in construction). So sick of those slim (disposable) designs getting jammed all the time. Anyway, I will be returning this unit to the store, and cannot recommend it to anyone operating a system newer than Windows 7.

I purchased this for my daughter, who does not have a TV, so that she could play DVD movies through her laptop computer. The computer did not come with a DVD player. It works beautifully, and now she can watch her favorite musicals again. Installation, however, was a bit tricky. She needed help to get it to work.

Best performance for the dollars invested in a piece of electronic equipment.

It is a very nice item portable, does its functions as told in the box. I am happy about it.

Installation is simple. I'm running Windows 8.1 and it automatically found the device quickly which is great because I was in a rush to install some software. I have not had a chance to burn a disk yet, so I thought I could not rate it the highest score.

My daughter said it worked very well and was very fast. She was very happy with it.
