This is a durable n great product highly recommend. It is my third one in over 10 years. The first two just didn't survive my very destructable husband. Made loads of CDs for my students for their English class. I would say made a couple of thousand CDs on each machine thus the reason purchased it a third one.

I am pleased with the product. I use the DVD player almost every day. It works great with my computer. Great product. I would most likely recommend this product.

While it does a great job, the read and write speed doesn't quite meet the expectations. The included power and connection cords are also very short, so you are forced to be very close to the wall outlet or have to have an extension cord.

I really like these larger AC powered drives as they only take one USB port on my device and don’t get lost on a cluttered desk. I’d have given 5-star if it had not used a converted brick and had used a PC style power cord.

For reasons known only to the geniuses at Apple, macs with internal super drives are now a rarity. This unit fits the bill in that regard, and does so through one (not two as some competitors require) USB connection to the computer.

It's definitely powerful and gets the job done; however, it's not quiet like they advertise on the box. I haven't tried watching a movie on it yet, but I have used it for installing software and transferring older data.

Although it doesn’t state on the box it is known for speed I did find it slower than I desired. Copying and ripping seems to work just fine but the speed leaves a lot to be desired. It is an external drive so I suppose it is what it is.

The new, expensive desktop I purchased did not come with an optical drive. Since I purchased the computer based on its other features but am using it for video editing, I obviously needed an external DVD burner in order to burn my video projects to discs. It does a fine job.

Built a new computer but my case did not have a place for a dvd drive. This is a good solid unit. Ive never had good luck with the small light weight drives. Too flimsy too easy to break. Weight and size not a problem on a desktop. Very pleased with purchase

My Lenovo Yoga ultrabook doesn't have a disc drive, so I bought this. So far, it's worked perfectly. Admittedly, I have not yet tried to burn discs using this, but I'm assuming it will be fine. I have only used it to download software to my computer and that has been flawless. I've avoided downloading the software that came with it (it appeared to be bundled with junk software like McAfee) and so far that hasn't been an issue.

Super fast reading and burning. The only thing bad is the size (a little large)

Great cd/dvd reader/writer. I haven't had a chance to test the DL feature but it writes cd's in only a few minuets. This player can also play scratched cd's with far less problems than my gamesystem which I used to use. All in all this was a good buy.

This new disk drive is fantastic. Gives me all the different uses I need to fulfill several of my hobbies and my obligations. Don't worry about using capacity you may need for other devices. This little gem is ready to go whenever you need.

Needed a DVD drive for my laptop that would play movies all the way through without flaw. Had two others that both failed but this one did the trick. It has its own external power supply so is not relying on the computer for power that then lags.

This is the only external burner i've used since my iMac internal drive went bad just after 3 years owning. I find it excellent, and perfect for the Mac. Thankfully the same model has been available for years. Why mess with perfection.

This is my first external drive (all my laptops had built in drives previously) so I do not have anything to compare this one to but it seems to be slower than I expected. Otherwise it does what I need.

Purchased this drive to add to my Mac mini. Setup was easy and DVD drive works great! Size is a little bulky but not too bad. Price was perfect for a great product.
