I bought this model because it was faster. It's a little bulky but I don't mind. It works great

Right out of the box, I used the LG DVD-RW (M-Disc capable) external drive heavily for over 180 DVD video burnings and viewings, and it worked without a problem. It met a critical need to convert many old VHS tapes to DVD's ---- making multiple DVD copies for each of our children to enjoy family memories much more conveniently and efficiently in the future.

Works perfectly for copying movies over to your PC. Runs quickly and quietly no regrets.

Works well for what it is. It's a lot bigger than your typical slim drive. Also, it needs power.

As I have used it I have had no problems. Easy to store in my case. A must need for HP Envy.

The LG External USB CD?DVD Rom drive works great. The feature that allows you to plug this into your tv via usb and watch movies is an awesome feature also. Has worked flawlessly up till this point.

Faster speed DVD/CD-RW Drive. Easy to use for a portable.

I bought this portable DVD R/W+ as I have several small blade servers that do not have a built in DVD, but do have plenty of USB slots. This unit plugged right in and was compatible with Linux, FreeBSD and Windows OS's. It easily moves from system to system, it is fast, quiet and has had no issues so far.

I don’t have the need, as with probably most others for burning cds and dvds, but every once in a while it’s necessary. This LG unit was moderately priced, yet is great quality, solid, and well built. While it comes with optional software for disc creating and burning, at least for my purposes, it was literally plug and play. Nothing to do, and works immediately. Would totally recommend this product.

all i have to said its works great in my iMac and macbook pro for simple data read and writing there no mac os x software but most functions can be utilized with them the mac os x capabilities so its get the job done nicely for my needs like ripping music ads in iTunes and writing data DVD's for my my photos and personal files so yes I highly recommended one of the best optical drives i ever used and owned for a mac computer

A very good player handling a variety of needs you would expect. Also works quickly and silently. However the included software does not include files to handle dvds, cds or cdroms. This is not good and needs to be fixed. period.

I got this to copy all my cds to hard drives. So far I am happy with this unit. It is much better than the very flimsy usb powered external drives. It is big and bulky by comparison and requires an external power supply but, the speed is worth it. Besides, I am mainly using at home.

It took me longer to get it out of the box than to install it. It worked perfectly. The recording went smoothly whether I copied the entire disk or compressed a larger file to a smaller file. The quality of the copy was dependent upon the original source. I really cannot judge the speed but it was just fine for me. Highly recommended!
