just bought a new lenova yoga, but it didn't have a dvd drive built-in. this unit works fine, but it is a little frustrating having to pull it out of the drawer and plug it in each time i want to use it

Works great at ripping movies, almost twice the speed as my Mac would. I have not used it to write. Runs a little noisy, and I can not get the disc tray to open when it is plugged into my computer.

An excellent replacement for a worn out DVD drive. Yep, we sometimes still have a need for these drives. Downloadable is not always the route to go. Prices are at an all time low.

I bought this item for my laptop and tablet, that doesn't have an internal cd drive. Wanted to load some other OS's directly- Linux mint on a previously Windows box and then load windows back when I was done. Worked like a champ, no problems

I wouldn't suggest this to everyone, unless they wanted it specifically. To me this is bulky and although it says it works with a Mac. It didn't appear to be plug and play, which is something else I prefer. There was no light on the front to say it was working, or on. The only way I could tell that it was on and working was if I opened the tray. There was no installation needed, but I did have to figure it out when it was on and working. I would suggest just buying a bluRay instead.

My new awesome computer doesn't have a disk drive, and this is a great replacement. Easy and quick set up, easy to use, very user-friendly. In short, exactly what I expected, and exactly what I needed.

Removed from the box plugged it into the PC, and it was up and running with no other work needed. Fast response, good read/Play and write functionality.

The drive seems to do what it should without incident. It's hard to find a reliable burner now that demand for them has dropped. This one has performed like a champ so far.

I purchased this and it seems rather large compared to the others on the market but it works. However even though the box indicates it also plays DVD's (movies) it WONT without software that is not included in the software disc that comes with the unit. You have to PURCHASE the software if it is not already on your computer. My new computer has media player but this version only plays music unlike media player on my previous computer. You may have to spend more for software depending on your situation if you wanr to play a DVD movie on this.

I found this to be a great DVDR for the price. Its very fast and easy to use. Works perfect for ripping and burning CDs. I really seems superior to most others I researched for similar prices. I'm very happy with it.

I dual-boot on my Mac Pro laptop from my Mac OS to Windows 7 and the LG GE24NU30 double-layer DVD±RW/CD-RW 24x drive works great on both operating systems. I am very happy with it.

Works great and have expanded capabilities I haven't used yet. Does not copy CD's as fast as a 56X (48X), but gets the job done! No problems with it.

I had been looking for a small external CD drive. When I compared the different models this had the most features for the price. This is a little bigger than what I had wanted but not to enough to make it a deal breaker.

If U don't mind it not being USB powered only, needing its own power source and not has slim has other models this is great purchase. I have no regrets great job LG people

Just what I needed. MY internal DVD/CD drive ceased working therefore I needed another one to replace it. The LG model did the trick! Easy to connect and quick to operate. No more than I needed. No less.

The LG USB DVD Drive works exceptionally well with Mac. When operationally, it is a little loud. Other then that, great stationary unit. Definitely not portable unit you would carry around.

I used this product to install my Windows 10 operating system to my PC. I also installed a hand full of GPU and motherboard drivers seamlessly. It worked and worked well without having to install any of LG drivers.

It was plug and play. I did not have any problems at all. I took it out of the box, plugged it in and immediately started using it.

This DVD drive works great. Easy to install. You do have to plug it to an outlet.

Needed an external drive to play music and watch information CD`s and this one works great for me and fits the budget. Recommend to anyone who needs one. Have an iMac and they don`t come with any CD drive.
