Just wanted to replace the DVD drive in my big PC (i7, Windows 7, 24GB of RAM, 7 TB of disk). Old one was no longer functional. Was an easy replacement. Old one out, new one in, installed the software. Played a movie just to check it out. Also burned a data disk. No complaints.

Connected Drive to USB port on my HP AIO PC running Windows11, selected and installed Software. Tested CD's (turbotax, Audiobook), and a exercise Dvd, all worked great.

I had a problem with mu computer and after conferring with the associate at Best buy I replaced a drive on my PC. Fixing instead of replacing the entire unit saved me money and put less into my local land fill.

Bought to replace worn out drive in Asus compputer purchased from Best Buy. Fit in computer, plugged right in and worked immediately I have used it to burn, rip and play CDs and DVDs and it works fine.

I recently built a desktop gaming pc and this was easily my least favorite part of my build; I didn't really want to install an optical drive, but was obliged to so I could install Windows as well as drivers for my network adapter and gpu. Installation was fairly easy, even though this was my first time building a computer, and the thing hasn't given me any problems so far. The main downside is the noise: this thing sounds like a jet taking off when it spins up; I could easily hear it with noise-cancelling headphones on and even in the next room with my door closed. This isn't much of a problem for me since I don't use optical media very often, but if you intend to use optical media to watch movies or listen to music on your pc, I'd strongly recommend not using this.

This is the second one of these I have purchased. The first one is still going strong, and I like it so much I decided to pick up a spare. If your looking for a great inexpensive DVD/CD-RW you can't beat this one for the price. It comes with software from Cyberlink which is very good.

Realize that the case I bought does not have a spot for a DVD writer/player. Had to return the product and bought a portable DVD writer with a usb C connection I am giving at five stars because of the price

Not the best, but you get what you pay for. For the cost of this one it’s got the best speeds, plus it writes DVD’s as well, so it’s pretty good for those making home movies on DVD or for those burning custom playlists to CD’s. No blue ray sadly.
