I purchased this, but have yet to use it. I purchased it to be able to read the disc that were for my old laptop which crashed. I was happy that my daughter told me about this so I didn’t loose all those files and pictures.

This drive gets a fair amount of use in my system and it has preformed very well for a whole year. I've had sketchy drives in the past but this is not one of them.

Works great. Does what the box says. Haven't done a whole lot other than burn a couple data dvds using imgburn. No coasters were produced.

Not a lot of flash and glam, but it does what it is supposed to do without fuss. There are cheaper ones on the market, but I have had excellent luck with all of my LG optical drives.

since laptops do not have a drive anymore this is a must have if you need to install anything and the price was low

Did a new computer build and needed a new drive to load windows. easy install. No issues

It worked for what I needed it to. I needed to install windows on my computer and this drive gave me that option.

This is one of those items which are hard to go into great detail about. You plug it in, it sets up, you use it. I purchased this particular unit based on it's comfortable price, desktop footprint, and manufacturer (LG) - I seem to buy a lot of LG. It was needed for blue moon use with my laptop (no optical drive). It's mostly designated to the back of the desk next to the backup drive. This doesn't have Blue-ray capability, but I didn't need that feature, which also kept the cost more where I wanted it. Priced at four stars - nothing is ever inexpensive enough for me. Compatibility at four stars - worked for me, I have no idea regarding other match ups.

Bought this drive for my Mac Pro that I bought 2nd hand with no optical drive. Install was a snap; just pull off the faceplate for the drive, pull out the drive carrier, 4 screws in, connect the SATA cable, and done! No drivers were required for OS X and this thing is FAST. The only issue I have had since then is with the drive randomly turning on. The gears moves, it wirrs, the LED comes on, and it's annoying. It only lasts for a few moments, then stops but keeps happening.

Updated the mother board and processor in my old desk top. My old drive was not being recognized by the new BIOS. Easiest thing to do was buy a new Drive. Put this in and as soon as I started my PC everything was back to working as it should.

I wished I would've known more about the price match at the time of purchase but this DVD drive has been good for what I've needed it for.

Products by LG are excellent. This burner does all I need and then some. I believe that all LG products are made to perform outstandingly well and made to last for a very long time.

Had it working in 15 Minutes. Works without any problem and does not require a lot of tech knowledge,

Fits well into my tower but the eject buttons did not match up. Installed almost instantly and ran right away.

Needed to replace a drive into an existing case. It fit perfectly and installed without any issues

What a great buy and now I have 2 disk drives that can copy/write to another disk. I could not believe how inexpensive the drive was.

Drive installed with no problems on new computer I built -Windows 10. Reads many formats so I do not think I will run into any problems .

I needed a drive that could handle multiple burns in one session and couldn't be happier with this drive. It's a fast drive and hasn't given me a bad burn yet.

For a light user like me, with the occasional need to install an OS and whatnot from a CD/DVD this drive has done what it's made to do. It wasn't pricey either.
