Cheap optical drive, easy install.

Easy install.

Didn't have to load a driver for it it was plug and play. As soon as it was installed I was able to use it. I t functions well and is reseanobly quite. I do not know how durable it will be but LG is a good brand so I am hopeful.

However the description says it reads Blu-Ray discs, it does not. It also states it can write a DVD at 8X, I have not found media that it will do that on. It writes at 4X just fine so that's how I'll use it. There is no supported media list on their website, used to be you could always look it up to find the preferred media, not anymore.

Desktop burner DVD drive

Like when your machine crashes and you have to reinstall Windows, and/or install older programs that came on CDs or DVDs. Lots of programs are going to online/subscriptions, but we still need these pieces of hardware. This one is solid, good price and quiet when burning. Highly recommended.
