I had a friend's machine that I was working on and when I tried to load the OS disk, I found that neither DVD drive was working. 1 had a broken drive belt and the other was ka-put. Down to Best Buy and sure enough, they had what I needed, and at a decent price. Simple installation, worked out of the box, what more could you ask for!

Have it for a couple of weeks now. I have had no issues with it. Easy to install too. Works great and quiet too.

It is your standard internal DVD drive that you put in a five and a quarter inch bay. It does its job, nothing special. It looks clean and simple. The tool from LG to upgrade the firmware also doesn't work for me, but the preinstalled firmware works perfectly, so not really too big of a deal. Overall a very good unit for the price, Windows 10 issues aside. SOLUTION FOR WINDOWS 10 PROBLEM: Windows 10 gave me a bit of trouble (and apparently a lot of others when googling for the solution), but just hit "Windows + R" type in "devmgmt.msc" and hit the enter key. Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" and right click every entry and select uninstall. After that, reboot Windows 10. *DO NOT REBOOT UNTIL EVERY ENTRY HAS BEEN DELETED!!!* This should fix the problem.

This dvd/cdrom reader/writer was very easy to install. When I tested it out, it worked perfectly. I now have two dvd/cd reader/writers in my comuter.

The new dvd drive came with very explicit instructions and was easy to install the drive and the driver. It works fine with no glitches so far. This particular drive was recommended to me by my computer technician.

Worked well with windows 11. Basically plug and play and install factory software.

I recently purchased a new computer and wanted to install my own internal CD/DVD hard drive. I have used this drive to make mixed media disc’s, burned sequential copies of the same desk and it has worked perfectly. It is quiet, fast, and it has been very reliable.

Excellent, but I had to purchase a SATA adapter. After attempting to replace my existing CD writer inside the computer case, I realized that the face would not fit through the front of my computer tower, so I purchased a SATA adapter and connected it to an outlet and the USB connector on the back of my tower. Works like a charm now, and is way faster than the stock version that came with my computer. Plus, it writes "M-Discs" which last hundreds of years, so I'll let you know around 2550 or so if the discs actually last that long.

Simple to install - works like expected Have not tried the accompanying display software. Requires the proper cable from the PC motherboard to the drive that did not come with the drive.

Can’t go wrong with LG products. Very easy and simple to install and works perfect. Absolutely plug and okay and done. Definitely recommend

It’s a fine product build wise but I never got the chance to test it out because it didn’t fit or connect with my pc.

I have added this drive to complement the LG Light Scribe drive I already have. I was replacing a different SATA DVD player/writer, so installation was straight forward. I use this as my main DVD drive and have found it to be flawless over the month I have used it. It will not record Blu-Ray, but I don't need that anyway. This is a relatively low-cost unit with a fast response time. I am using it in a PC running Windows 7 Ultimate and the driver software installation was automatic. I have had good luck with LG drives so far and will continue buying them if I need them.
