I bought this drive since I have a very similar drive in another computer that I built a few years ago. Overall, these are very good drives. the performance and quality is excellent.

I can not write a solid review on this item. I was not paying attention when I got the unit from the shelf. I was looking for an internal device and got this one by accident, it is an external.

I was looking to repair an older PC. As a result, I cannot rate this adequately because I needed an EIDE interface, and this was SATA, so I returned it. So why am I reviewing? Hey, I could use the bonus points.

Just remember to buy an external power cord, it doesn't come with it.

My Gateway internal DVD reader/writer died but I was able to find this replacement to fit in my Gateway Mini Desktop housing. Only problem is the outer door sticks when accessing the DVD tray. I will probably just have to remove the door.

I bought this DVD player to load software that was difficult to access on-line and to play some of my existing, non-blue ray, DVD's. the player seemed to bot up fast and provided a good picture. Seemed to be a good value for the price. .

I was looking for a Blu-ray player but the price had gone up so I settled for this. It was for a PC I was selling but a disc drive doesn't really make or brake a gaming PC. so it does the job.

Thought it was an IDE drive but was able to make it work and it works very nicely. It's been a while since I've had a useable dvd ram drive and it's nice having one again.

Just what I was looking for to do my office work at home.

Unable to use this product as it is for a desktop tower not a stand-alone unit. My new HP laptop does not have a DVD/CD and my local store recently closed.

I went in to beatbuy. I walked straight to what I needed and found exactly what I wanted. I was asked if I needed help several times and definitely had friendly people there. Definitely will visit them again

I was looking for a replacement when my burner went south. I chose this one based on prior experience with LG and not wanting to spend a bundle and that it was available for pickup at my local Best Buy. I am completely satisfied with this burner.

When The Geek Squad tested my old drive, which was misbehaving badly, they recommended this one and installed it without any research by me. I liked the convenience, and I trust LG. From what I've experienced so far, it was an excellent choice.

I didn't realize there was something wrong with my drive until I put a disk in and heard a bang and the drive wouldn't open. Took computer to best buy and a new drive had to be put in. It works great. I have put disks in and have had no problem.

Purchased this unit as a replacement for a dvd drive that went bad on a HP desktop. Plug-n-play unit took less than 15 min to install. Enclosed software optional for use. Continues to work perfectly.

Great for burning all my data to storage dvds thanks

Works great. Old internal Hitachi IDE DVD burner died, and this one works great on one of the 2 available SATA ports I had open. Comes with CyberLink software. Not a Blu-Ray, but finding an internal BLu-Ray is tough.

When it comes to read/write drives there isn't much that can go wrong. You can pretty much get whatever you want and it is going to suffice. I chose this one due to a recommendation and have no problems with it so I consider it a good investment.

I purchased this drive to replace my light-scribe drive which stopped functioning after an OS upgrade. I personally wouldn't use it as a primary drive but is an excellent companion for my existing LG CD/DVD-RW DL BL primary drive.
