If you have a little more money, buy a higher quality device. I'm thinking about upgrading to a Blueray DVD Read and Writer. You get what you pay for. :)

I didn't need it right away but was ready when I did need it. I finally opened the box and there's some crazy adapter cable I need. So I'm returning it to get a USB -C to USB connector. So I suppose if you have a cable to connect this writer up - it would work. I didn't see anywhere on the outside of the box which connector is recommended.
