I told the clerk what I needed and they gave me the wrong item. I needed the drive for a laptop and was given a drive for a tower.

Product did not work as expected. Was not easy to use, And I would not recommend.

The third attempt to use this thing and it was already acting up. Had a wobble to the drive. Took it back and got an HP for the same price.

Sales person recommended this product, ended up returning it as it was the incorrect dvd player for my mach ine

This unit might be perfect but it was not what we needed. We returned it and bought the correct unit.

I had to return this item because it was not the portable one I was looking for.

lg has no good items the burner fail many times so i never but again

Got this optical drive in store purchase and not online and install it on my comp running W7 pro and it install so easy and windows recognized it w/o any problems. It operates really quiet,you will just hear a few clicking sound as you turn on your pc and thats all.. Screws and installation disc included but i really didn't need any,,,just works right on spot and running smooth and quiet. But be aware that Sata cable not included,but for sure you got the old cable from the old drive which i just use. Overall,, its a great buy and performs well on my opinion.

I have mixed feelings about this purchase. 1st, the drive received is not a GH24LS70 but rather a GH24NS90. I sure wish BB would stop switching products out without changing their ad descriptions! The picture in the ad is not of either of these drives. It shows the Lightscribe logo and the LG and the SuperMulti logos. The actual drive has only the LG and SuperMulti logos as well as a M-Disc logo. I bought this drive because the picture indicated it was Lightscribe certified. Neither the drive advertised nor the one provided support Lightscribe. Without the Lightscribe capability it is not worth $40 as many drives without this feature sell for $10-15 cheaper. The software packaged with it is Cyberlinks Suite. Cyberlink stuff is pretty bad at interfering with other things in the PC and advertising you to death if you are not careful how you answer setup questions. I wish they would have provided the bundled versions of Roxio or Nero instead of Cyberlink. That might have made the extra cost for this drive a little more worth it. With this drive is a single M-Disc and it is M-Disk certified. There's no included information on what this is. After several internet searches, it looks like it's just a more reliable type of DVD. But to use these you have to buy M-Discs which are about $3 each! Also you can't label these disks like you would a standard DVD. Ouch! Another nearly useless included feature that few people are likely to use. The speed of the drive is good at both burning and reading DVDs. It has lots of formats of discs it supports writing/reading to. I hate the Cyberlink Software Suite and am back to using an older version of Roxio. While I'm a bit disappointed I did not get a Lightscribe drive like all my other drives have been, it is useful as a simple no-frills rewriter. I ended up putting this newer drive into an older PC because my older drive did do Lightscribe. In summation, if you are just looking to read or burn DVDs and CDs this drive will do it fine. I don't know about the quality as I haven't had it but for a few days. But the last LG rewriter I had lasted me for 3 years and is still going strong. I burned about 2 discs a week with the last one. So hopefully this one will be as reliable too. I chose to say yes to the recommend to friend box although I have my reservations due to the issues stated here. I was told by a BB in-store person after the install that if I installed the drive I had bought it. They won't take it back since it was installed and used once.

The original ASUS DVD drive died in my 3 year old machine, and needed a replacement quickly. Used SPECCY to detect and monitor components, and noticed that the DVD drive just vanished. The atapi driver existed, and the drive door would open and close, but the drive would not read anything. Concluded that the drive was dead. Decided on this LG unit. It was a five minute replacement. The LG drive is quieter, and faster than the old ASUS unit. Best money spent (it was on sale too) on an internal DVD drive.

Does the job well. Super fast. Easy install. would recommend this DVD drive. great price!

This product fits under my budget, does what it needs to do to get the job done, and reliable. I was reluctant at first because of the cheap price, but all in all a great buy. No problems with it what so ever.

Works great. Easy to install. There were other choices of hard drives that cost more, but this one was an excellent choice.

Was building systems and forgot an optical. Good performance from it so far. No hassles with install. No complaints.
