Customers recognize the TrueSteam 24" Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher's quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance as major strengths. Many appreciate its spacious interior and ease of use, along with the attractive appearance of the black stainless steel finish. However, some users have noted challenges with the bottom rack's stability and the length of the wash cycles.

We paid way too much for something nice. I does not get dishes clean. Leaves water spots. Bottom rack falls off the tracks everytime.

Not Exactly A Fan

We've had this DW for a solid year now. Love the look of the black stainless steel. Love the quietness of the cycles. Not exactly a fan of the long cycle times (almost 4 hours if you're running heavy cycle). The issues I've had is that the bottom rack is ALWAYS a problem pushing it back in. Always. The bottom rack dish holder prongs are also a big issue as it causes the dishes to lean on each other, almost so badly that either the dishes don't get fully cleaned or it almost chips plates because they hit each other. I read both of these things in previous reviews but blew it off. THE REVIEWS ARE RIGHT! And I'm probably one of the easiest people to please, but I would not buy this dishwasher if I could do it all over again. Total pain in the rear. (No issues with the matching fridge of microwave though!)

I've had this dishwasher for about a month. We bought the 4 piece suite. The refrigerator is AMAZING, I love the stove & microwave. The dishwasher has fallen way below my expectations. It IS VERY VERY quiet & I love that feature. However, loading the dishes is a nightmare. The plates fall into each other and I fear my dishes will end up broken. The bottom rack constantly comes off the track and it's very difficult to get back on. The 2nd rack is hard to load without having items catch on the 3rd (top) rack. The dishes come out clean enough I guess but I clean them pretty well before I even load them. As I mentioned, I love the other LG appliances but this dishwasher IS A BUST!! A THOUSAND DOLLARS.....REALLY?? If it wasn't such a hassle, I would send it back. I wish I hadn't sent my old dishwasher away. :-( Any chance that LG will fix the design of the bottom rack & ship me a new one??

Poor Quality for the Money

First I will start with the good. It is a beautiful looking dishwasher and it is the quietest one I have ever owned. The adjustable tines are great and allow you to make almost anything fit the way you want. The adjustable height of the top rack is very useful for different loads. The inside is quite tall and I have no problem loading dishes in the lower rack with the top rack in the lower position but note that the open door is quite low to the ground compared to the older dishwashers I have owned. However, I completely agree with the other reviews about the bottom rack. It almost never slides back in and I am certain it will break in the first year and probably often after that. It has no heating element and dishes will not dry without rinse aid. Its normal cycle is very long (2.5 hours) and my detergent door is almost impossible to get to stay closed so I run it with it open. I would probably never buy another LG appliance based on my experience with this dishwasher. Nothing against Best Buy though. I have bought a number of appliances with them and have always been very happy with both my in store and installation experiences.

The 3rd top rack was a great upgrade. The cycles are whisper quiet compared to our old unit. Looks great in the kitchen also.

I had a Bosch that was extremely quiet and I "thought" efficient. After getting this unit it got the glasses sparkling clean. The Bosch may have been just a tad quieter-but this LG is hands down a winner on washing!

I bought this dishwasher only because it matched the rest of the LG suite of kitchen appliances I was purchasing. The reviews I had read on several websites praised the appearance of the dishwasher (agreed, it looks great) but also said the actualy functionality wasn't that great. Also agreed, it does an "okay" job but there are better choices out there.
For the good aspects, it is very quiet and very easy to operate. It even plays a little song when you turn on the machine, and another little song when it is done. This is apparently an LG trademark. It doesn't bother me, it's actually kind of cute.
For the bad, it does not do a great job cleaning dishes. Little bits of food residue are often remaining or are deposited on one dish or glass from another. Glasses are my biggest complaint, the machine simply does not do a very good job cleaning items on the second rack.
Drying ability is only fair. There is no heating element in this machine, it instead relies on the heat generated by the hot water in conjunction with a rinse aid. Plastic items will not get dry at all and you will need to have a dish towel ready to dry for everything else.
A lot of people who have written reviews complain about the racks and how it's difficult to place/stack dishes and glasses without them falling over. I won't fault the machine for this, I think it's just a matter of getting used to how to place the items. Through trial and error, I'm getting used to it.
Lastly, you have to clean the filter. It does not have a disposal/grinder like many other machines so every so often you need to manually remove the filter and rinse it out. For a machine in this price range, that's pretty lousy.
So I'll end this review where I started it. I bought it beause it matched the rest of the LG suite, and I'm largely pleased with the fridge, oven, and microwave. Were it not for that, I'd have gone with Kitchenaid or Bosch.

I feel like as nice as it looks, the inside lacks for lots of reasons. The top rack I barely fit my travel mug. I like that I don't have to rearrange stuff all the time when the water blades spin if something is too tall. The bottom rack, the separaters keep falling over. There's a funky smell going on too in between cycles. And the soap doesn't always dispense during the cycle. The bottom rack falls off the track everytime I pull it out to load it. Just completely disappointed especially for the price. And considering this is the top of the line for LG, just would have expected a top quality product.

Quite frankly the worst built dishwasher we have ever owned. The rack constantly comes off the track, the wheels pop off, the knife tray broke within a week, and the little plate holders do not stay up. If those things do not matter, it is a quiet dishwasher and has not stopped working in the 3 months we have owned it. Based on my experience with it thus far, it won't last very long. So sadly disappointed.

Worst Dishwasher EVER Purchased!!!!

I bought this dishwasher in January 2015 and it has been a nightmare since I have had it. While under warranty LG had 5 different people out to fix it. I have not been able to use this dishwasher more than able to use it. I paid approximately $800.00 for this dishwasher and the one I had when I lived at an apartment was 100x better than this. Didn't clean well...ALWAYS problems with it. LG would not replace, kept fixing issues with it. I had to have the motor replaced, door replaced, dish soap dispenser replaced 2x, steam vent replaced, hoses replaced, seals replaced and it has been a lemon since day one. Again, last night after having yet another repairman out and only "repaired" about a couple of weeks ago, it breaks again and won't even come on. Seriously, what a piece of junk. Will never purchase another LG product again. Went out this morning and purchased another dishwasher, the LG is now out of warranty. Oh, and also one of the repairman told me that LG should just replace it and guess what, never heard from that repairman again, they said his work was not up to par....really LG, I think you're not up to par!!!!!
