This is the first top loader washing machine my wife and I have purchased in 15 years. Our old unit had finally started making those noises. So off shopping we went and came across the LG Turbo Wash 5.0 Cu. Ft. 12 Cycle Mega Capacity High Efficiency Top Loading Washer in White #WT5480CW. I thought, how can no agitator work on cleaning the clothes. Let me tell you, with the clear glass, sitting watching the machine do it's thing, is pretty amazing. Clothes get washed thoroughly and the spin cycle really gets the extra water out. The washer has all the needed functions my wife was looking for and works from heavy dirty yard clothes to dress clothes and everything in-between. My wife says she "highly recommends this washer"!

I have had this washing machine for about a month and it has been the quietest washing machine I have ever had. It is very easy to program and operate. The turbo wash is awesome! I like the 10 year warranty on the motor. I think we made the right choice going with this washer.

That is what my wife and I said after the first load with this washer. We moved and our old washer died during the move and we got a new one that wouldn't actually clean the clothes. Then I wised up and got this LG. It is amazing. It cleans like it should. It has a bunch of useful settings. It is so easy to use we haven't even opened the user manual. It has a huge capacity. It is super quiet. It is right outside our kid's bedroom and we can do laundry at night with no fear of waking him up. Plus our kid likes that he can watch through the glass door.

This LG Unit is a replacement unit for a Whirlpool front loader. I needed extra space in my wash room because both front loaders (washer & dryer) faced each other and opened up to each other. No room to move around in such a small space. This LG top loader was the answer to my search for a unit that could handle many different kinds of washing challenges, unit is simi quiet , very strong, many options and different settings, can handle big bed comforters with ease. I can now soak clothes, Extra rinse cycles and has a Turbo wash for quick washes when you're in a hurry. Please read instruction manual first for proper loading and usage instructions. The barrel is deep so shorter people may have trouble reaching the bottom of the barrel to pull out stuff. Over all it is a great unit for the money and very well constructed. Now I have room to move around and get in and out of the wash room to do laundry . . . Happy Camper!! I miss my Whirlpool front loader but I am getting very use to this LG and it is really a great Unit for a top loader. You will be very satisfied with this top loader. LG makes great products!! and they are a great company. Best Buy delivery folks were early and cleaned up their mess. Very respectful and helpful. Great Experience.

I bought this washer after my old Maytag died after 18 years and 2 kids. The Maytag was a workhorse, but would have cost serious money to fix versus using that money toward buying a new washer. I went with the new washer, although I was nervous because an appliance person told me that they don't make super durable washers anymore. After looking at reviews, I chose this model because of the large capacity and reasonable price. Although my old Maytag was large capacity, the LG holds a much larger load in roughly the same size washer due to the absence of an agitator. Moreover, despite no agitator, the LG washes the clothes cleaner with far less water and energy. The modern sensors default to the most efficient water level (although you can override this and add more water). The controls are easy to use and new features (like delay wash) make life easier. I think the top-loading design is perfect for heavy users, although you have to be able to reach deep into the tub to retrieve washed clothes. I have been very happy and think this LG is the perfect successor to my old reliable Maytag.

Purchased this washer a month ago with a new LG dryer as well. The delivery guys had it set up and going within 10 minutes. I've really enjoyed being able to do all our clothes in 2-3 washes each week. Everything comes out clean and smelling great! I usually leave the lid open overnight to dry the barrel out as this was recommended by the sales associate. No issues there. Super easy to use but as a short person I do struggle to reach the bottom. I'll take using a small stool vs doing extras loads of laundry any day. :)

My LG washer is much quieter and without the agitater, clothes won't get caught or tangled, not to mention the increased clothing capacity. The final spin extracts more water, which cuts down on drying time. The clear lid lets you see inside. So far the only negative is the tub is so deep that it's hard to reach the items on the bottom.

Have only had for a few months, but so far we are pleased. It cleans nicely, though when you watch it through the glass lid it's mysterious as to how or why it works! It's very quite and washes bulky items like bedding nicely without them getting all balled up.

This washer is well worth the money. It's very quite, easy to use, has a huge capacity and all the options / selections one could need. I looked at several front load washers but almost all reviews mentioned the "moldy" odor from standing water in the rubber seal. No worries with this one. Clothes comes out clean and almost dry from a great spin cycle!

I read all the reviews that did not like this product, always do that first. While new and reluctant to join the HE trend, I couldn't be happier. It did have a small learning curve, which wasn't that tough if I read the manual and was willing to work through minimal trial and error. I have 10 dogs, that in and of itself should tell you what a workhorse I need. I can do 2 to 3 times the amount of puppy pads, towels, beds and blankets than my old agitator model, which was a king capacity. Things come out fresh and clean when using the bright white cycle with 'those' highly soiled items. Great for all of our clothes too. Would recommend with confidence.

This machine replaces a 14 year old Maytag. My appliance repairman recommended an LG machine, the Best Buy salesman spoke highly of them and my sister-in-law loves her LG, so I decided to give them a try. I've had no problems in the first month of using it. I love the large capacity and the window in the lid to watch it work. And I love being able to throw a missed item in after it has started. It is very quiet. I've washed large loads and small with great results. I even love the tune it plays when it's finished. Very happy with this purchase so far!

I REALLY like this washing machine. It's SO much bigger than my previous front loader; I can really wash (ie it gets wet and rinses) a king comforter in this. Also, it does not take 2 hours to wash a load -- a normal load takes about 30 minutes. And ... my clothes are clean.

We bought the washer with the matching steam dryer when moving into our new house. After a lot of research this combo had all of the features we were looking for without paying hundreds more than with others. After a month of use I think it works good but I'm still not sold on washing clothes without completely submerging them in water. I did have a pair of jeans that didn't come out completely clean but that was because I had oil smudges on them from changing the car's oil. We will rewash to see what happens. I do like all of the options; Including adding extra water but this is a automatic setting (not that I found). It is fairly quiet and having the ability to put large comforters in the washer is great! The glass lid is pretty cool to watch and see what's happening inside but the novelty wears off quickly. The chime is much better than the traditional buzzer.

No Complaints - Got What We Paid For

This won't be a very in depth review, but suffice it to say my wife and I spent dozens of hours reading reviews, shopping prices, checking out floor models...we did it all. Our choice was between this, a Samsung and a Kenmore. This one got our pick for a couple reasons: 1) This unit's companion dryer was the only one with a dedicated water reservoir for the steam function, and 2) the price, capacity and quality of materials were equal or superior to the other models. We have washed about a dozen loads since it was delivered with its companion, and we have been fully satisfied with the results. It takes a bit longer than a non-HE washer to finish one load, but the clothes come out much drier, and that saves time on the drying cycle (down about 20 minutes from our old Whirlpool unit), so it ends up being about the same overall time. LG adds features that give this washer personality, such as the LED lights and the chime-song that plays at the end of every cycle (this can be turned off if you find it annoying). In summary, we have had no issues and are very happy with our LG washer/dryer set. Now, save yourself the headache, benefit from our labor and go find a good deal on this set while they are still sold (the electric dryer was being phased out at certain stores, but not the washer, so if you want both, hurry before they're all gone!). You won't be disappointed.

We went from a regular center agitator to this awesome washer. I washed an entire piled high laundry sorter that would have taken me at least 8 regular loads in only 3 loads with this! I was so amazed. I can't even fit the new load sizes in one laundry basket! My kids love the clear top too. I'm in love with my new washer.

I choosed this LG TurboWash 5.0 Cu. Ft. 12Cycle MegaCapacity HighEfficiency TopLoading Washer White WT5480CW following the suggestion of Joe, Best Buy Asheville South, Nc. I'm very happy, it's awsome! First of all with the promotion, the price is very convenient. Secondary, the big performances of this washer. I had a very economic model with the agitator. The change is unbelievable! There are so many program combination and it's very easy to use. I love it.
