Stellar monitor for use with my new MacBook Air. Compact base and size fits the scale of my desk. The display is truly amazing in terms of clarity, detail and color! Able to accommodate all items that need to be connected. Ordered online and delivered to my vehicle.

Bought the Mac Studio monitor and for the price, the LG is as good; for a less price.

My most recent purchase was to complete my dual LG 5K displays and to my horror, the display is 'yellow' despite both set same native white point. I am really disappointed. My first screen is truly awesome and looks crisp and white! See the yellow screen on the right in the attached image.

Just received this monitor to compliment my MacBook Pro 16. I find the color, detail and sharpness breathtaking. My photos look better than ever- like looking through a window. The closer I get to the screen the more fine detail I can see. Incredible. The monitor is solidly built and looks very good. I see no issues at all with fit and finish. It is clear this monitor was designed for use with Apple products. It has the Thunderbolt 3 connection and several additional "pass through" USB C connections- nothing more, not even an on/off button. The monitor comes with two cables. One cable is a high speed USB C and the other is a Thunderbolt 3 denoted with a lightning bolt stenciled on each end. I found that my latest (2019) iPad Pro mirrors the screen using the USB C cable plugged into the Thunderbolt 3 port on the monitor. I haven't tried it yet but I'm sure my Windows work laptop will operate as well in this manner. The monitor nearly instantly had a picture when I plugged the Thunderbolt 3 cable into my MacBook Pro 16. Since the lid was open on my MBP16 it automatically mirrored the screen on the LG monitor. First thing I noticed was that the color was different between the LG monitor and my MBP16. With some research I learned that when the TrueTone setting is turned on for the MPB16 it also affects the LG monitor. Close the lid on the MBP16 and the TrueTone turns off which makes the color change on the LG monitor. I turned off the TrueTone setting and now the LG monitor stays the same color and matches the MBP16 color when the MBP16 lid is either open or closed. The Apple OS shows two different Screen setting windows, one for the MBP16 screen and one on the LG screen regardless of being in mirror mode or extended monitor mode. Color calibration and brightness are the only options available. The Apple OS runs everything. The monitor automatically sets 5k mode with the MBP16. I find the monitor has plenty of light output. I have the brightness set at about 70%. Overall I am very pleased with this monitor. It is not cheap but it is an excellent monitor. I am using it primarily for processing my photos.

ISSUES GETTING STARTED BUT ALL FIXED...

At first it would not work. A new power cord fixed that. Then the mouse cursor would not change to the hand--instead it simply disappeared, but only on this monitor. Of course then on some websites I could not tell if I was on a link or not. I called IG support re: power cord. She said she was shipping a new power cord and it would take about 3-5 weeks to appear on my doorstep. I'm glad I had a power cord that works because it has now been 6 weeks and no power cord. The mouse problem turned out to be a NVRM issue. I called Apple Support when the IG support tech simply had no idea what the problem was. Apple support recommended I reset NVRM. I had done that once, but did it again with his support, talking me through it. That has worked--sort of. I subsequently found that the cursor had the same issue. The real fix has turned out to be that my cursor had been enlarged, using MAC's Accessibility tools. I discovered that cursor worked with smaller sizes but not with the bigger sizes. I was able to repeat the issue and solution. I've told Apple (ha ha) about the issue and the fix. Since I made. the mouse cursor smaller, the monitor has been delightful to use. No reflections due to where the monitor is placed. I don't use the native screen size except if I'm using Lightroom to edit photos. The print is too small. MAC allows me to switch between resolutions easily and the switch is complete, unlike WindowssX. So ultimately I give the monitor 4 stars because it works as stated and gives me more space.

Bought but returned for an ultra wide. Retina quality is nice, as is having a built in webcam, but still not worth the price in my opinion. Purchased a 49” ultrawide instead for about the same price, and it’s awesome. Gives you the real estate of 3-4 screens for the price of this one (and still powers the laptop with a single usb c cable).

I like this monitor. It’s sharp and bright. I like that there is a webcam and microphone incorporated into the monitor itself! And I like that it’s connected via USB-c. I’ve had this monitor for a few years and I just got this one for my father.

It is relatively expensive compared to other 27" monitors out there, but I bought this monitor to pair with my new MacBook Pro 16" and they work great together. Set up is ... well, there is no set up -- plug it in to the outlet and then your Mac and you're done. It looks incredible and comes with a built-in camera, mic and speakers, plus 4 USB-C ports one of which is a thunderbolt port to power your MacBook. That's the only connection you need for your MacBook while using the monitor, which makes it very simple. My only wish is that it had a simple headphone port to attach external speakers. Because that doesn't exist, I have to connect (and disconnect) my speakers to the headphone port on my MacBook Pro every time I want to use them since they sound a little better than the ones built into the monitor.

Excellent monitor. However, there are issues with the new Mac M2 when using one cable connection to the monitor. The sound drops out occasionally. The monitor predates the Max by a couple of years, so may be a compatibility issue.

Purchased this since the studio display was on a 2 month back order. Is it as good? No, is it a good monitor yes. The take away we got since we now have 2 of each the Ultrafine and Studio displays is this, if you will use the speakers and webcam get the mac display. The color accuracy between the two is nearly the same. Also get this if you want to save a few bucks. The thunderbolt hub/usbc hub works just as good as the mac display, and power delivery works just as well too.

The picture from this monitor is flawless. I use it as a dual monitor to my iMac (personal use) and to my Macbook Pro (work). My biggest complaint is it only has 1 TB3 input while the new 23.7" model has 2 of them (for daisy chaining?). Why doesn't this 27" have 2 TB3 ports?? For my current setup to work, I have to manually unplug my iMac to plug in my Macbook Pro, which I presumably wouldn't have to do if there were 2 TB3 ports... Lame.

Great monitor to pair with Mac at less cost than Apple monitor. Very easy set up just plug it in, all controls are through the Mac not buttons on the monitor. Picture quality is great, you can tell it was built in conjecture with Apple with same specs as their monitor.

Great monitor for Mac users. Super resolution. Bright and well designed. I noticed a slight flicker with certain desktop colors when I first plugged it in, and read up on some things to do, and it seemed to reduce. I then changed my desktop image, and it's no longer an issue. Text and images are stunning, and well matched to my Macbook Pro 16. Plus, it powers the Macbook.

I was a little hesitant based on the price but after I had read that Apple partnered with LG to design this monitor and all you have to do is connect one cable to your MacBook Pro for charging/data and you are ready to roll I was sold. The resolution is the same as the Apple MacBook Pro which is to say very very high. I like the ergonomics of having a larger monitor with an adjustable height rather than hunching over my desk looking at the laptop screen itself. I use a little laptop stand that holds it upright and have it tucked at the back of my desk so it is not obtrusive. I also use the wireless Apple trackpad and keyboard with this set up and it looks and works great!

The LG Ultrafine display is great for modern Mac users with Thunderbolt 3 setups. I love the OS integrated brightness control and color calibration. The display can be made to work with non-Mac hardware but it's a bit weird, especially with no power button or hardware adjustments. Built-in webcam is a nice bonus.

This product appears to have identical performance to the latest iMac 5K screen and offers more flexibility than that when used with a 2018/20 Mac mini. Not the best resolution webcam, but more than adequate. A good solution which only requires power and a Thunderbolt 3 connection to your computer. Has integrated speakers, webcam and microphone which can be controlled directly from your Mac.

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro with the M2 chip. I was looking for a 27 inch monitor that would have the same quality as the screen on my new laptops liquid display. My new 27 inch LG monitor did exactly that. It’s so sharp and clean that it’s easy to imagine that you’re looking at the subject through a window. Another feature of this monitor is when you connect your laptop to it the laptop recharges. It is not necessary to connect both the laptop and the monitor to power. It is everything I hoped for and more.

The color on this monitor matches up perfectly with the new apple display monitor. The only thing that I could say is angle from the sides makes the monitor wash out.
