Hi, there. thank you for sharing your experience with LG Monitor (27GS75Q-B) model. We understand your concern about encountering issues when trying to play at 180Hz on your unit display. We strive to provide high-quality products that exceed our customer's needs and expectations. It sounds like the screen behavior you're experiencing might be related to either the cable, the refresh rate settings, or even the connection compatibility.
One troubleshooting step we recommend is to ensure that you're using a high-quality cable that supports 180Hz at the resolution you're trying to play at, as not all cables can handle higher refresh rates. Additionally, verify that your graphics card supports 180Hz output, as well as adjusting your display settings to match the optimal configuration for your setup.
If you're still encountering issues, please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and we’ll be happy to help you further with additional troubleshooting or provide any assistance you need.

The LG UltraGear 27" 27GS75Q gaming monitor is an exceptional choice for gamers seeking an immersive and competitive edge. Its ridiculously fast refresh rate, response time and brilliant colors will give you the upper hand in the world of gaming.
The IPS panel delivers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and wide viewing angles, bringing your favorite games and movies to life with stunning detail. The monitor offers HDR10 support delivering brilliant colors. The QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) just adds more detail offering sharp and detailed images, and the Nano IPS technology enhances the color accuracy, simply put a stunning visual experience.
The monitor offers 180Hz refresh O/C 200Hz rate and 1ms response time delivering smooth gameplay with no lag or motion blur, The NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync compatibility eliminate screen tearing and stuttering, providing a seamless visual experience. I tested out this monitor on multiple devices like my PS5 and my PC with an RTX 4060 and I was able to get up to 180 Hz connected via DPI on my PC and 120Hz on my PS5 but overall, an amazing gaming experience.
The monitor’s sleek design and ergonomic adjustments cater to your comfort, allowing you to play for extended periods without strain. The monitor can be setup vertically or horizontally, has a virtually borderless design on 3 sides, and offers tilt and height adjustments so pretty much set it up as you like. The monitor also offers 2HDMI inputs, 1 Display port, and audio jack input options.
Overall, the LG UltraGear 27" 27GS75Q gaming monitor is a great investment for gamers of every level. It combines top-notch performance, stunning visuals, and a stylish design, making it a must-have for an immersive gaming experience.

Quality Performance Gaming Monitor

The LG UltraGear 27GS75Q is made with quality durable plastics. It comes with a stable, sturdy adjustable stand that allows the usual tilt, height, and pivot adjustments. Overall impression is the monitor is well-constructed and will last. The monitor looks modern with an almost borderless display on the top and sides. Rather than the typical buttons on the bottom edge to set the monitor functions, which are often awkward to use, this monitor has a joystick in the center you use to move through menus that you push up on to select.
The power is not a standard power cable but AC Adapter with the power conversion done in a box at the plug. The AC Adapter was wide enough to block the neighboring AC sockets on my power strip. I moved plugs around to put it at the end of the strip, so it overlapped just one socket. Depending on the spacing of your power strip, this may or may not be an issue for you. There are 4” extension cables that solve the issue if you run into this.
The LG UltraGear 27GS75Q is built for gaming. With a refresh rate of 180Hz that can go up to 200Hz (overclocked), gameplay is ultra-smooth, even with fast-paced games. Screen tearing and stuttering are virtually eliminated. I noticed none using an Nvidia RTX 4090 video card. However, the two HDMI connectors are limited to 144mhz. You must connect using the one Display Port 1.4 connection to utilize the 180mhz 200Hz (overclocked) refresh rate. A Display Port 1.4 cable in included with the monitor. The 1ms (GtG) response time makes motion blur and ghosting nonexistent. Even during rapid movements, the image is crisp and clear. You can plug in a second PC or a streaming box for watching TV or movies into the HDMI ports.
This monitor supports both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync, which synchronizes the monitor’s refresh rate with the graphics card’s frame rate. This results in a smoother fluid gaming experience with even demanding games.
The LG UltraGear 27GS75Q covers 99% of the sRGB color spectrum, ensuring accurate and vibrant colors. The HDR10 improves color and contrast, bright scenes are brighter and dark scenes darker. HDR10 adds depth and realism for more realistic and immersive visuals.
These features also make the LG UltraGear 27GS75Q great for watching movies. Even fast changing scenes while watching a Fast and Furious movie displayed smoothly, without any noticeable blur or lag. The high refresh rate and quick response time makes this a greet choice for watching action-packed movies and sports.
The IPS panel offers wide viewing angles, so you can enjoy consistent colors and clarity from almost any angle. Useful when watching movies with others sitting off to the side.
I found the LG UltraGear 27GS75Q to be a well-made, attractive, and versatile high-performance monitor that excels in both gaming and multimedia use. Its impressive features provide smooth gameplay and movie viewing. Whether you’re looking for intense gaming or simply want to enjoy high-quality visuals, the LG UltraGear 27GS75Q is a monitor that delivers on multiple fronts.

Great gaming monitor with great picture quality

The LG UltraGear 27GS75Q is a 27” monitor with a 180 Hz refresh rate. The design of the monitor and stand are excellent. The adjustable stand allows you to adjust the height and angle of the monitor to your liking. This includes allowing the monitor to be vertical rather than horizontal. The borderless design is very eye-catching. The one problem I do have with the design of the monitor is that the power supply fits in the slot odd. The angled cable hits the side of the area where the ports are located. The way you put the cable in makes the other ports a little harder to access. This specifically affects access to the headphone port on the back. It also has a nice cable organizer that prevents the cables from being visible
On the bottom of the monitor is a unique joystick button. Pressing it can turn the monitor off and on as well as turning on the settings menu Moving it left and right adjusts the volume up and down or if the menu is displayed enters the Input Menu or enters Game Mode. Game mode offers you control over a bunch of options that many others don’t. You can also use it to enter the Accessibility Menu. This control is something that I have not seen before.
The monitor runs great, it has a QHD display with a resolution up to 2560x1440 and has a 1ms response time as well as runs on 180 HZ. While you can connect via HDMI or DPI, When connecting via HDMI, you are limited to 144mhz. In order to operate at 180mhz, you must connect via DPI. The monitor utilizes IPS technology which improves the colors for a great view from any angle. It also utilizes HDR for brighter whites and darker blacks. The colors and the picture run at excellent levels for gaming. The monitor has G–Sync which helps with picture tearing. This function is only available with an Nvidia graphics card. The picture is super clear and runs very smoothly for a variety of games. The frame rates stayed relatively stable. When the games were played on higher quality settings over performance the picture was very clear and looked beautiful. The amount of detail you could see with this monitor was amazing.
Overall the UltraGear 27GS75Q is a great monitor for gaming and is everything you would look for when trying to get a competitive advantage.

Good All Around Monitor - Smooth Picture

This review is for the LG UltraGear 27” LED gaming monitor. At 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, what makes this a gaming monitor beyond the slightly better than 1080p HD resolution is the 180Hz refresh rate, low 1ms latency, NVIDIA G-Sync/AMD Freesync compatibility, and brightness of the LED screen. One loses contrast ratio range compared to OLED, but that’s more key for cinematic/video experience.
Setup is pretty straightforward. Connection wise you’ve got 1 display port, a surprising 2 HDMI, 3.5mm audio and the power barrel jack connector. No built-in speakers here and honestly, I’m not sure why monitors continue to use 3.5mm audio versus USB to allow you to get higher quality output. The monitor also comes with a stand where you can adjust the tilt angle. The on-screen menu is accessible via a joystick button on the underside of the front face. You’ve got the typical settings, brightness, contrast, color, inputs, etc but there’s a couple key ones that I’d like to highlight. First, the monitor beeps at you on power up. You can thankfully disable that through the monitor settings. Second, in the game adjust menu, you can actually turn on an FPS counter. This comes in handy if you’re attempting to benchmark a few games or compare monitors.
For general use, I was pretty happy. The screen is sharp and looks better than my existing wide screen landscape monitor. I did need to tweak settings to get the color temperature to match my second monitor (4K portrait) but got them to line up pretty well despite being from different manufacturers (and decades!). I ended up not using the stand but the mounting bracketing is VESA compatible so it went onto my existing monitor arm without issue. My wide screen is 2560 x 1080 and it doesn’t seem like much but I appreciated having the additional vertical resolution. It felt a lot more natural with a 27” diagonal. My existing widescreen is truly wide - with a 29” diagonal so the squeezed vertical effect is even more pronounced. I also appreciated being able to drive the monitor at just 1920 x 1080. Sometimes, I remote desktop using a program where it can’t adjust the remote screen to the local screen, but you’re limited to resolutions the physical attached monitor can achieve.
The monitor was awesome playing Counter Strike 2 and Hades 2. FPS on the monitor matched what the game was claiming and certainly kept up with my graphics card. While I can't say I was really blown away by comparison to others, one thing that stuck with me was the LG felt really smooth. With Hades 2, there was perhaps one cut scene where the screen seemed a bit bright but the black stabilizer setting seemed to help so playing through again, I didn’t notice at all. It didn’t do as good a job rewatching a Jason Bourne movie but the picture was still great (and honestly, I’ve watched this about 10 times over the past twenty years and no screen has quite gotten it as perfect as when I first watched in the theater).
In all, I’m pretty pleased and would highly recommend this screen for gaming or just general purpose office work. Maybe programming as well if like me, you have a primary monitor for your IDE and a secondary one for email, web searches, etc.

I was eager to give the LG UltraGear 27 IPS a shot. I had a previous LG UltraGear monitor that was fantastic. However, on this model, I was left underwhelmed to say the least. I've tinkered with all the settings and even gone in search of best settings online and have come up short. But before I speak to exactly what bothered me, I wanted to address their stated feature list.
Ultra-fast at up to 180Hz & 1ms MBR - This monitor does in fact support G-Sync and Freesync. And most importantly, it does in fact hit its stated min of 180hz refresh.
Bold Color On A 27" Screen - They claim 99% sRGB color gamut, but unless my old eyes deceive me, it doesn't live up to this claim. A "world of brilliant color" was promised and what I received was muted colors, bad contrast, muddy blacks and whites, and almost no brightness. In fact, I noted that the corners and edges looked particularly dim from the center. Whatever you do, do NOT activate HDR. Blues become grey. It's really awful.
Get In The Game - As mentioned already, it supports G-Sync and Freesync. Enough said.
Customized For a Game Changing Experience - Yes, it does have different pre-programmed modes for different game/movie types. However, none but Gamer 1 setting is recommended. Even vivid which usually over saturates colors and cranks the brightness to insane levels was muted and not worth using.
Advanced Gaming Features - It claims to have a bevy of advanced gaming features, and they are in fact built-in, but you're not likely to turn them on. Why would you want to have your monitor reporting FPS, or tinker with overclocking the refresh? And for the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone would want a permanent crosshair turned on.
Designed For The Win - The bezel is nice and thin on the top and sides. The weight of the monitor is light and easily moveable. It sports a thin bezel and overall looks like its reasonably well constructed and classy sitting on your desktop. As well, it comes with HDMI, and DisplayPort connectivity if you were looking to connect multiple devices to it.
Well there it is. I highlighted the proposed feature list and spoke a little about some of my gripes. Let's expand a bit on those.
It vastly underwhelmed me with it's brightness and ability to represent colors correctly. Contrast was a muddy mess that resulted in blurry images. How did I determine this? I used a sundown beach scene where you could see the ocean waves, clouds, and flare of the sun as it set. There should have been tons of colors represented and it should look quite stunning. On my laptops native display, it did exactly this. On this LG display, it was as previously described. The brightness is terrible. Therefore, don't even bother with HDR unless you want your colors to shift completely off and be stuck with this bland, terrible image.
Pros? Yeah, it has a nice build to it and the bezel is nice and thin. But we buy monitors to see the display shine, not so much the housing. And yes, it does in fact support G-Sync and Freesync, and it supports a 180hz refresh.
For the price, I would expect better. I wouldn't recommend this one to a friend unless they lowered the cost and needed it for a productivity PC. I wouldn't even trust the colors on this display to be a graphic design PC. Overall, I will give it 3 stars because it delivers on most of its promises, but it loses the 4th and 5th star for underperforming colors and brightness.

The LG UltraGear 27" is a beast of a gaming monitor that delivers top-tier performance for gamers who crave speed and visual fidelity. With its 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, the monitor provides buttery smooth gameplay (especially in Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Wildlands), eliminating motion blur and screen tearing. The inclusion of NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync support ensures that you get the best of both worlds, with synchronized frame rates that reduce stuttering for a seamless gaming experience.
Setting up the monitor was straightforward, thanks to its intuitive on-screen controls and adjustable stand, which allows for easy height, pivot and tilt adjustments (download the software from LG to get a bot more control of the monitor). The IPS panel ensures vibrant colors and wide viewing angles, making every game look stunning. The HDR support is a nice touch, offering enhanced contrast and more realistic color reproduction, though it’s not the most advanced HDR implementation out there. Thank you LG for including a display port cable😁
In conclusion, the LG UltraGear 27" combines excellent performance with a sleek design, making it a fantastic choice for serious gamers who want a competitive edge. Whether you’re looking for fast refresh rates, responsive gameplay, or vibrant visuals, this monitor delivers on all fronts.

A Worthwhile Experience

[PROS]
Hits Benchmark: Playing at 144-165hz allows for a great experience even at 1080p. But breaking the ceiling to hit 180fps at 1440p is awesome. I tested a number of titles with 4080, and can confirm that it is indeed achievable and maintainable. Furthermore, I didn't even have to tweak any settings or overclock it.
HDR10: The HDR space can be a confusing area among gaming monitors. Often times we see monitors that say they support HDR but it might be HDR400 or something similar which doesn't match up with consoles like the Xbox Series S or X. Fortunately, being HDR10 certified ensures compatibility with those consoles and produce very vivid colors.
Functional Modes: Along with HDR, I found a plethora of options to customize the monitor experience to suit my gaming needs. I have a visual impairment that cause me to struggle with aiming. Features like Crosshair makes playing games so much easier allowing me to improve my accuracy.
[CONS]
No USB Connections: I'm the person that probably has something plugged into most of the USB slots within my desktop. It would've been nice for the monitor to contain an USB B port that could create hub through the monitor.
Awkward Power Cable: So the tip of power adapter is a right angled plug, but the spacing around the port isn't large enough to accommodate the housing around the tip. I have to turn the plug almost upside down to prevent a shortage from occurring within the wire. Also, the base of the adapter that plugs into the outlet is sure to take up a lot of space on a surge protector.
[CONCLUSIONS]
Gaming with this UltraGear variant has been superb. It's not the ultimate monitor, but has many of the features to make is a great monitor: 180Hz, HDR10, IPS, and a dozen other adjustable settings to make it an enjoyable experience.

The LG - UltraGear 27" IPS LED 180Hz 1-ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD Freesync Gaming Monitor with HDR - Black provides the top quality and speed necessary for the most advanced gaming demands without the need for 4k price. The precision timing, low latency, and crisp video keeps up with all your gaming and videos without the loss of quality and visual often found on lesser specs and brands. The simple design ensures the ability to adjust the screen to your viewing height and rotate left and right as needed to find the perfect viewing angle. Simple connectivity panel in the back minimizes cord clutter while ensuring you have the needed ports for your gaming setup.
I found this monitor to be very good for the price-range and met all the needs I would have for a first and/or second monitor. Speed, refresh rate, and pixel depth were excellent without needing to step up in price for a 4k monitor - it will meet most players needs. My only complaint is that it doesn't play very nice with an iMac as I was hoping to use this as a nice second monitor for my music recording, but the ports are not set up with a Mac in mind. This is on Apple, more than it is LG and this monitor however.
PROS
- LG brand, quality, and innovations
- Visually excellent for most users
- Simple, plug-and-play use
- Great refresh rate keeps the action moving without visual degradation.
CONS
- Works as a single monitor for Macs, but not as a second due to the port configurations and lack of DPI on Apple products.

I am super pleased with this gaming monitor. This monitor is what I would describe as “up to date” for what gamers should be looking for in this price range in terms of performance and connectivity options. First, the HDMI ports on this monitor are HDMI 2.1. This means that PS5 and Xbox Series X users can get the maximum 120FPS frame rate out of their consoles when hooked up to this monitor, if they game and graphic settings support that high of frames, of course. For PC gamers running newer GPUs, you can take advantage of the single display port on this monitor (wish there were two) or the HDMI 2.1 ports to connect up to your GPU and get buttery smooth frames as high as 180FPS thanks to the 180hz screen on this monitor. I ran this monitor off of a display port connection on my 4070 Super GPU and enjoyed high-refresh gaming at my favorite resolution of 1440p. I feel like 1440p gaming is still the sweet spot resolution-wise for gamers. It is not as demanding as 4K, nor as expensive a panel as a 4K monitor would have, but it still offers crisp images at this 27” inch size. Many professional gamers, esports players, and streamers prefer 24” to 27” monitors to this day for highest performance capability.
LG is always a go-to display device brand for me, from its TVs to its monitors. Many other companies use LG panels in their monitors, and there are good reasons for this.
