You have to calibrate the hdr to remove blurry images when you first turn it on but after you do the image is outstanding

Very worthwhile upgrade coming from a AOC Q27G3XMN. The only thing the AOC/MiniLED does better is better full brightness wallpapers or websites like news sites that have an all white background, but this is due to all oled technology not being able to blast full white screens so as to not use excess power or damage the monitor. The MiniLED is also better for reading/text clarity.
But for movies/games/darker wallpapers/media consumption this monitor is better in every way. Amazing hdr, better color vibrance, One thing I never really realized with my AOC was the black crush, or how much detail was lost in images and video where scenes got darker because I wanted a darker screen as having a dim backlight on at all times looks nasty. Amazing clarity/smoothness in motion which I didn't think would be as big a difference going from 180hz MiniLED to 280hz oled but the smoothness of looking left in right in games or during high action scenes in battlefield 6 is easily a 1.5x-2x better experience on the oled. For gaming alone it's easily worth at a sale price. Bought this cus I didn't want to wait for the Gigabyte MO27Q28G or Asus ROG Strix XG27AQWMG. Well worth the purchase though AT SALE PRICE. Otherwise compare prices to the two previously listed monitors and compare feature sets.

Tandem OLED, 280hz, Low-input lag, and with HDR? Sounds too good to be true but alas this monitor exists. LG really pulled knocked it out of the park and then some with this display. Colors are vibrant and not overly saturated. Text is also very legible compared to other OLED monitors and is a common complaint of existing non-tandem OLED monitors. Text still isn't sharp like a great IPS display. However, this monitor is great for Gaming, Youtube watching, viewing movies/tv shows and even video editing. Regarding gaming, the latest Battlefield, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 and the Oblivion Remake look fantastic. As do other non-HDR supported titles like Max Payne 2, Fallout New Vegas, and Clair Obscure. For gaming and multimedia content, I don't think I can ever go back to a non-OLE display. I do not think this monitor is great for work unless you do video content. I will report on the burn-in a year from now.

This is my first OLED display, and this is an amazing gaming monitor. I upgraded from a fairly high-end led LG monitor (same resolution) and I was surprised at how much of a difference OLED made. The dark colors look so much better on this one. I have a dual monitor setup so the old monitor is now next to this one and on the old one the black colors look more like grey when compared to the OLED. It hits the bright colors really well too. I haven't had it for too long, but so far I love this monitor.

When HDR is turned off the colors pop and the monitor looks amazing when HDR is turned on it looks dull and washed out like a first gen LED monitor from 1998 . I can't even fathom how is this even possible? Did they not test the monitors before they release them? I find it so unacceptable for an issue like this in 2025.
Hi there, Charles. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that the LG UltraGear 27" OLED QHD 280Hz Gaming Monitor didn't meet your expectations regarding the HDR color performance. Your feedback is important, and we understand your inquiry. To improve the HDR vibrancy, please ensure you have the Windows HDR Calibration app installed from the Microsoft Store to create a custom color profile, and verify that Smart Energy Saving is turned Off in the monitor's General settings to prevent automatic dimming. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-ultragear-27-oled-qhd-280hz-0-03ms-g-sync-and-freesync-premium-pro-gaming-monitor-with-hdr500-hdmi-x2-dp-usb-a-black/JJ8VPZKGR4 For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please contact us on [email protected], and our team will be more than happy to assist you. —Renzo

High quality display. The picture is bright. The image is sharp and I sit about 15 inches away from the monitor. Has built in features to prevent OLED burn in. Just as advertised. I want another one. Happy with this purchase.

My first OLED. A huge improvement over the old technology. Highly recommend getting the new generation tandem OLED. Very bright, text looks very sharp. HDR looks amazing as well. Much more durable than previous generations. A huge step in the right direction.

Upgrading from my HP Omen IPS monitor to the LG Ultragear 27" OLED was a complete game‑changer. I’ve owned several LG OLED TVs over the years, but this is my first OLED monitor — and it genuinely exceeded my expectations.
The color accuracy is stunning, the contrast is truly infinite in a way only OLED can deliver, and the overall image quality feels on a completely different level. The 280Hz refresh rate is a nice bonus, even though 240Hz was already more than enough for my needs.
This display is simply incredible and easily one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my setup.

Sharpest monitor i’ve owned. Zero problem with understanding the monitor os as well as that perfect
pixel response time cannot recommend enough for this price point.

1000nit brightness on this made it a no brainer compared to the ASUS option i saw on sale at the same time. It had a 300nit brightness i beleive and it's insane how much of a difference that makes.
Absolutely loving this monitor and would highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their setup!

Best picture quality on the market today for the sale price of $549.99. Perfect black and good HDR. Screen is semi matte so it doesn't look dull and keeps the reflections in check in bright rooms.

Will never go back after buying this, all my future monitor purchases will be oled. The difference between this and my 2nd one is literally night and day.

Would be better if the hdr wasnt so terrible looking. Entire thing looks washed out in hdr. Sdr picture was pretty great. The matte screen is also not as bad as i thought it'd be coming from glossy qd oled screen. But the hdr is terrible and there is no firmware update for this monitor yet. I def wouldnt pay the full 850 they were asking for originally thatd be insane. Had to use nvidia hdr calibration to get hdr to be usable on the monitor and not look just terrible. Once i made adjustments through nvidia hdr looked better than my 2k qd oled minus the matte screen difference. Point is not everyone can fix it that way so lg should release some firmware to fix their mess. Anyway get it on sale or wait for gigabyte or asus model to drop in a couple more weeks. I will be buying asus when it comes out for sure.
Hi there, DanielB. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG UltraGear 27" OLED QHD 280Hz Gaming Monitor. We understand your inquiry regarding the HDR performance and the request for firmware updates. We are glad to hear you are enjoying the SDR quality and the matte screen finish! To ensure you are getting the most out of your display, we recommend ensuring that the "Smart Energy Saving" feature is turned off in the monitor settings, as this can sometimes impact peak brightness in HDR mode. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-ultragear-27-oled-qhd-280hz-0-03ms-g-sync-and-freesync-premium-pro-gaming-monitor-with-hdr500-hdmi-x2-dp-usb-a-black/JJ8VPZKGR4 For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please contact us on [email protected], and our team will be more than happy to assist you. —Renzo
