Just buy it lol! The end, ok just joking but seriously buy it if you care about the best of the best as far as picture quality, response time and dual mode goes. Lg makes some of if not the best oled panels in the world(they make most of the oleds out). This monitor is no exception with a beautiful and vivid 45 inch 5k by 2k curved screen. Bright and crispy screen but not overly bright and is easy in the eyes imo. All oleds have a near instant response time which is vital if you play esports games or call of duty warzone even. It feels super fast I love it even while playing campaign or story mode games, once you get used to it you can’t go back to Ips or VA panels. 165hz refresh rate is great but I would have loved 240 but to be honest I can see why LG decided on 165. You will need a high end gpu to push all of these pixels and you most likely won’t hit 165hz in demanding titles anyhow. So not a huge deal. Also this is a dual mode monitor that offers up to 330hz albeit at a much lower resolution. Personally I think it’s a great feature to have if you need every extra frame while playing any FPS game but I am running an nvidia 5080 founders edition so 5k at 165hz if fine for me. Plus I’d rather have the high resolution over the higher frame rate. I will use the dual mode sometimes but not as much as LG probably assumed most gamers would. The monitor comes with the newest spec HDMI ports and newest spec display port as well(not full bandwidth) but still much appreciated it. Type C port and usb ports as well with a nice cover to hide the wires is a nicest bonus. Speakers are actually very good, I was surprised to hear how loud they can get but with very well balanced sound, clear vocal and nice bass with not overly done treble. It’s nice not having to use my Klipsch computer speakers all the time because they are too loud and too boomy. Plus so many manufacturers don’t even include speakers anymore so thank you to LG for thinking of the consumer. Plenty of adjustability as well and they have included every cable you will need. This monitor does have RGB lighting in the back but it’s not bright enough for my taste but they are good enough for most people and can be adjusted or turned off completely in the menu. Menu has pretty much everything you need, one neat feature I want to point out is the ability to change the “resolution” or screen size in both dual modes. Which is great if you want to get better frames or run a PS5 pro or XBOX series X. Nice added features that I think most gamers will appreciate. Another great feature is LGs switch app which is available through lgs website(just google it) and the app allows you to update the monitor directly from your PC with the included type C cable. It’s easy to use and great to have so download that as soon as you get the monitor set up. So if you have read this far, I thank you and I’ll say again, go buy this one as it is the top of the top so long as you have a power enough GPU. This will not disappoint.i love it so much i have been using my PC more than my ps5 pro. Even at the price which is a premium I won’t need to upgrade for several years and that’s a fact.

    Best OLED monitor, hands down!!!

I'm so happy to finally have this monitor up and running, this is the best OLED monitor I've had (and I've had a couple before). To start with, it comes in a large rectangular box and they include everything to get you up and running. A super sturdy and heave metal base, and arm that locks easily in place, a HDMI 2.1 cable, a Display port 2.1 cable, a type C USB cable and a large and heave external power brick. It was packed good, with plenty of Styrofoam protection and the screen itself was inside a soft type of plastic cloth (there was no plastic to peel from the screen). It arrived in great condition. I did end up installing it on a sturdy monitor desk arm and it fit great. Plugged in the power cable, the USB cable to a type C port on my PC (THIS IS IMPORTANT, I WILL TELL YOU MORE WHY LATER) and the Display port cable. Seated down and started it and my PC, BAM! I was completely blown away by the extreme curve and I must be honest, it was jarring at first. And I have had curved monitors before, this one is extreme! However, give it a chance, after a while you get used to it and if you seat at the proper distance, whoa! Its so immersive when gaming, its like seeing panoramically all around you! THIS PART IS IMPORTANT and not many people now about it. I was reading some reddit posts and reviews about it before I got it and it appears it had some bugs in the color reproduction and luminance, specially in HDR mode and indeed it could see that. However LG released a firmware update that mostly fixed this. Now, they don't have any firmware update files in their support website, however the way this monitor updates its firmware is via their LG SWITCH app (windows and mac). You must download this app from their website and connect the monitor's type C cable to your PC. Once you launch the app, it will tell you if you need a firmware update and let it do it. It did for me and fixed most of those issues. The HDR is incredible, however you must set up windows correctly. First, only use HDR mode when you are going to play a game or video in HDR. For normal desktop use or SDR games leave it off. One nifty trick is the key combo: win button+alt+b, that will switch you between HDR and SDR mode. Now, there is one last bug in HDR mode that LG MUST ADDRESS THIS SOON IN A FUTURE FIRMWARE UPDATE. If you use the Windows HDR calibration tool, you will see it clips the luminance at around 600 nits, this is wrong as the monitor fully supports up to 1300 nits. Its because there is something wrong in the EDID info and windows is reading it from it. There is a trick discovered by an amazing pal at Reddit to make it work (this is only temporary and works great, but you must do it every time you update your graphics card drivers), this is purely a software windows fix and won't affect your hardware or warranty since its not doing anything to the display itself, here it is: Delete any existing color profiles in Control Panel -> Color Management -> Devices. Download CRU 1.5.3 from the official source: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU Run CRU.exe Go to Extension blocks Edit CTA-861 Edit HDR Static Metadata Input the following values (don’t touch anything else): Max luminance: 151 Max frame-average luminance: 151 (FYI: 151 = 1317 nits, 150 = 1288 nits) Restart your PC or run restart64.exe from the CRU folder. Check HDR behavior: Go to Settings -> Display -> Advanced Display Peak brightness should now show 1317 nits Use this test video at 0:56 to verify HDR highlight detail: https://youtu.be/gcsxAddFaoA?si=Fpi9lRccTVKwHQG2&t=56 Toggle HDR off/on to compare how much detail is preserved. (browser restart required and browser must support HDR) Don't use the windows HDR calibration tool after this. After this the display will correctly display HDR content up to its native 1300 nits and without any clipping and displaying details correctly. AMAZING!!!! I have had other oled displays before (both QD oleds, glossy, matte etc). Let me tell you once you calibrate this guy correctly, it will blow you away. To be honest the matte coating is soft and doesn't bother me and don't even notice it, and its great at handling light reflections. LG also updated the subpixel structure so text looks sharp and clear without any color fringe. Now, the best thing about it.... finally an increase in resolution and PPI density! I was tired of most ultrawide displays mainly stuck at 3440x1440 or 5120x1440 resolutions. Finally LG updated it to a 5120x2160p resolution with a great PPI! However, this is more than 4k, so you really need a strong video card to drive this guy. I would say a 4080 and up in the nVidia camp and a 7800xt and up on the AMD camp. Now the second killer feature, the dual resolution and refresh rate! My 7900XTX can handle the 5k resolution fine and I mainly use it more for single player games and campaign and it handles well, plus 165hz refresh rate is not that much and the display has variable refresh rate (Freesync premium and Gsync) to handle those dips in FPS. However, for fast paced online shooters, I use the dual mode and switch to the 2569x1080 resolution at 330hz!!! I can handle the drop in resolution in favor of fast paced online gaming, no problem. You can fast switch to it with the button at the bottom. You can also change several aspect rations in the monitor's menu, I would say explore there what you want, I mainly use the two main one full wide ones. Also, I love the 45inch factor, 49 is to much for me and with this one you gain in the vertical space too and while still staying at a 21:9 aspect ratio (32:9 is too much for me and some games struggle with compatibility with that). In all, this is the best OLED Monitor right now hands down (if you want ultrawide at a high resolution and refresh rates). Get one, you won't regret it!!

Hi, AlexI. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG Monitor (45GX950A‑B) model. We understand the importance of having a monitor that performs reliably, especially when it’s a premium model and stops working after only a few weeks of standard use.

One helpful step you can try is power‑cycling the monitor by unplugging it for about 60 seconds and reconnecting it directly to a wall outlet, which can help reset the internal components. Kept this monitor even though the price is steep because it checks every box for me. After using wide screens that topped out at basic quad HD, the five K two K panel is the jump I wanted. Games make full use of my 5090 and look razor clear, and for work I can split the screen into two full layouts that feel like having a pair of twenty seven inch displays without the bezel gap. Text is crisp, colors pop, and motion looks clean with the one hundred sixty five hertz mode. There is a dual mode menu that lets you drop to the faster three hundred thirty hertz preset if you care about pure speed, which is a nice option even if I do not need it every day. Power delivery over USB C is a quiet win since it can top a laptop and keep the desk simple, and the OLED panel is beautiful with deep blacks and rich contrast. Build quality feels strong, and the subtle gray tone instead of bright white should age better and hide marks. The extra resolution fixes the grainy text I saw on older ultra wide quad HD panels, and the wide canvas makes split tasks easier from spreadsheets and code to timelines and chat. PD charging, thoughtful inputs, and support for both G Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro round out a very complete package. The cost is high, no question, but I have zero regrets because it improves both gaming and work every single day. If you have been waiting for a wide screen that finally gets resolution and speed right, this is it. For the performance, features, and build, the price for the quality is good.

Tried to get a Samsung 49" ultrawide and had a massive flickering issue. So I returned and snagged this. I didn't know how I would feel about the 21:9 vs 32:9. From a standard use case I like it quite a bit more having the extra height. Also the OLED is extremely good. And using it for gaming it keeps up great in refresh rate. I use it for some media editing and the high resolution is fantastic as well. As is the color reproduction. It's a great do everything. I would highly recommend.

I don’t say this lightly: the LG UltraGear 45" OLED Dual Mode has completely redefined how I work and how I enjoy my setup. This isn’t just a gaming monitor — it’s a command center. The OLED panel is jaw-dropping. Blacks are truly black. Colors have depth and richness that make everything else I’ve used look flat by comparison. Text is crisp, UI elements feel dimensional, and content just… breathes. Whether I’m working across multiple apps, editing, reading, or simply sitting in front of it for hours, the visual comfort is on another level. The dual-mode refresh rates are genius. Being able to switch between ultra-wide, high-resolution productivity mode and insanely fast gaming mode makes this monitor feel like two premium displays in one. It adapts to how I work, not the other way around. And the size — wow. At 45 inches, this thing replaces multiple monitors without bezels, seams, or distractions. I can keep everything in view, stay focused longer, and move faster. It’s the single biggest upgrade I’ve ever made to my daily workflow. Build quality is excellent, the curve is immersive without being aggressive, and LG’s OLED care features give peace of mind for long sessions. Bottom line: This monitor didn’t just improve my setup — it elevated it. It’s the most beautiful, productive piece of equipment I’ve ever owned, and once you experience OLED at this scale, there’s no going back.

This was my first wide-screen monitor. I was not disappointed. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. This is a big monitor in a big box, so just take note of that. The monitor came packaged very well. Your typical monitor setup, but with more weight. The monitor stand is magnetic, which I very much appreciated. After getting everything installed correctly, I was presented with a crazy new experience. I had been using 2 monitors, so switching back to a one-monitor setup, I was a little unsure. Well, after testing the LG UltraGear 45'' OLED, I'm very happy with my choice. MY experience with the monitor was a great one. The button to navigate controls is in an easy position right under the screen. I've had some monitors with the button is in a weird position, making it uncomfortable to navigate the controls. You get different modes for gaming and viewing content. Your typical stuff like Brightness, Sharpness, Color Temp etc. What sets this monitor apart is the Dual feature mode. I didn't quite grasp this at first but now I do. With such a big and wide monitor like this one, it does put more strain on your GPU. So trying to push high frame rates depending on your hardware may be a problem. Well, that's where the dual nature is beneficial. With the click of a button you can switch to a smaller view while still pushing high FPS for gaming. So if you are playing a FPS you can push the button and go 1080p with a high refresh rate and still see everything on the screen. You can program it to scale down to a 27" viewing which is great for FPS gaming. This is a win because you can still game on the widescreen and switch for FPS as well. For content creation this monitor also shines well. With the curve if the monitor it pulls you in. So whatever you are doing the monitor draws you in. Along with its great blacks and darker colors. OLED is already great to view, but with the curve, it draws you into the task. The only negative would be make sure you have a strong GPU to push out a strong FPS with this monitor. Oh, the monitor does wobble a bit while on the desk. This is a fantastic monitor and one of the best on the market. The monitor also doesn't get as warm as some of my other monitors. So it does dissipate heat much better. This is an expensive monitor I get it. But there are not many on the market providing this experience. This is Truly an exceptional monitor. I can split the screen up and still cover all my web browsers! This is a niche product for the hardcore gamer or content creator. If this fits you and you have the cash for it. Look no further than the LG UltraGear 45" OLED Dual Monitor.

A Game-Changer for Work and Play This monitor is hands-down one of the most impressive displays I’ve ever used. From the moment you power it on, it’s clear that LG has pushed the envelope in both design and performance. The OLED panel is absolutely stunning. The contrast is jaw-dropping, with true blacks and vibrant, lifelike colors that make everything from videos to spreadsheets pop. The 240Hz refresh rate combined with ultra-low response time makes this monitor a dream for gamers and creatives alike. Motion is buttery smooth, and the clarity during fast-paced action is second to none. What really sets it apart is the immersive 800R curvature. It wraps around your field of view perfectly, drawing you into your work or gameplay without feeling overwhelming. Whether I’m multitasking across multiple windows or deep into a game, the screen real estate and layout feel incredibly natural. The build quality is premium, with an elegant, minimalist stand and a solid feel throughout. Connectivity options are generous, with USB-C, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort, and a built-in KVM switch—perfect for power users managing multiple systems. If you’re someone who demands both top-tier performance and an immersive experience for both productivity and entertainment, the LG 45” OLED monitor delivers in every way. It’s not just a display—it’s a whole new visual experience.

This is hands-down the best monitor I’ve ever owned. I’ve been waiting years for a 5K ultrawide OLED, and LG absolutely delivered. I was initially concerned about the aggressive curve, especially coming from a 34-inch ultrawide with a more modest 1800R curve. But with a screen this large, the deeper curve makes perfect sense, it’s not just justified, it’s essential. For gaming, it’s phenomenal. The 330Hz refresh rate is a game-changer for competitive shooters, offering unmatched smoothness and responsiveness. For cinematic, story-driven games, 165Hz at 5K resolution is stunning, the visuals are vibrant, sharp, and incredibly immersive. At 125 PPI, text is crisp, and the overall clarity is outstanding. The expanded screen real estate has transformed how I work and play. It’s one of the best upgrades I’ve ever made. I absolutely love this monitor.

I’ve been using the LG 45GX950A-B with a MacBook Pro M4 Max, PS5 Pro, and a 2025 Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 (5090), and I can confidently say this monitor is a powerhouse across all fronts. Color accuracy is outstanding—whether I’m editing photos, gaming, or watching content, colors look vivid yet true to life right out of the box. Text clarity is exceptional, especially when connected to my MacBook. Even long work sessions are easy on the eyes thanks to the crisp rendering of fonts and UI elements. When it comes to entertainment, the experience is top-tier. Watching 4K HDR content via Apple TV feels immersive and cinematic. The blacks are deep, highlights pop without being overblown, and the detail in both bright and dark scenes is impressive. Whether I’m gaming on the PS5 Pro or pushing the limits with the Strix Scar 18, the monitor handles it effortlessly. High refresh rates, low input lag, and fluid performance make it a great choice for serious gaming as well. Overall, the LG 45GX950A-B nails both productivity and entertainment. It’s a premium display that lives up to its specs—an excellent choice for anyone looking for clarity, color precision, and immersive visuals in one package.

I absolutely love this monitor. I originally bought the 45 inch that was 3840 x 1440 and it was very nice. 2 weeks later the 5K/2K came out and it was within the 30 day return window so I upgraded and am happy I did. The extra amount of real estate you get is great especially with multiple windows open. This is so much better than the 2 - 32" monitors I had. This works great as a gaming monitor but I wanted it for multitasking and 3 or 4 windows open at a time. It is display port 2.1 compatible and came with all the right cables. It has built in speakers that work very well also. I highly recommend this monitor and LG as a brand as well. .

End. Game. Monitor. I’ve been really impressed with the LG 5K2K (5120x2160) ultrawide. The extra vertical resolution over typical 3440x1440 makes a big difference for productivity—coding, spreadsheets, and two full-size windows side-by-side feel effortless. Text is extremely crisp, and scaling looks clean on both macOS and Windows. Color reproduction is excellent for photo/video work, and brightness is strong enough for a well-lit room with minimal glare. Connectivity has been reliable, and the monitor wakes quickly without constant input switching. The stand is solid with smooth height/tilt adjustments. It’s pricey, but if you want high-DPI ultrawide workspace, it delivers.

I came from a dual IPS 24” setup and the switch to the LG Curved OLED was shockingly seamless (took maybe a day or day and a half to adjust to the curve). The picture quality is amazing (I had gotten both the Samsung G9 OLED (49”) as well, but I’m in a room where I have good lighting and it gets on the brighter side during the day (while I work), so the matte screen was my preferred screen (both devices did look great). For my work case, I really preferred the 45” (16:9) compared to 49” (32:9) screens. The screen size is perfect for looking at PDFs, Excel or CAD on one side split height (ie, two fourths screen size) and having the full height screen on the other side for whichever program I need bigger or having something else up. The connectivity options are great and the ability to plug a KM switch or usb hub and speakers into the monitor and have it auto switch when you change your input is a good option as well (just make sure your device can handle the screen resolution as well as power everything, that was an issue with my older work laptop). Overall, I love the screen / the aspect ratio / size of the LG. I definitely recommend seeing it in person to make sure the size works for you (or take advantage of Best Buy’s generous return policy to test out the 45” screen).

First Impressions After waiting for the perfect monitor for over 5 years, the LG 45GX950A has exceeded all expectations. It’s not just a monitor—it’s a full-on experience. This 45” OLED monitor is in a class of its own and is a huge upgrade that was well worth the wait. It's large and immersive enough to double as a TV. Performance & Display Quality Playing games on an OLED panel at 165Hz with this resolution is unprecedented. Text is razor-sharp and extremely legible at 125 PPI. The tiny pixels make individual RGB subpixels invisible even under a magnifying glass. The default brightness is set at 100%, which can be harsh on the eyes, but reducing it to 50% creates a comfortable and rich viewing experience. Design & Build The matte finish is an excellent choice, minimizing reflections during daytime use or nighttime movie viewing. Unlike glossy screens with aggressive curves that can reflect the room or even distort the monitor’s own image, the matte surface eliminates internal glare and reflection, which can be problematic on an 800R curve. The monitor also features a stylish, hexagonal customizable LED backlight, and the black rear cover helps minimize ambient light scatter, unlike white back panels. Features & Functionality A key improvement over my old LG monitor is the convenience factor. The 45GX950A auto-switches to the active input source—a welcome change from having to switch manually. Also, DisplayPort now carries audio to the internal speakers, which are surprisingly loud and adequate for everyday use. Gaming Experience The 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio is perfect for cinematic content and immersive gameplay. With a 0.03 ms response time and support for up to 165Hz (330Hz with overclocking), this monitor is lightning-fast. The wider field of view is especially ideal for racing sims, flight sims, and open-world titles. If you've never gamed on an OLED display, the difference in black depth and contrast will feel almost surreal. Power Efficiency Despite its size and capabilities, the monitor uses only 35 watts for non-gaming activity and 40 watts during gaming when HDR brightness is at 50%. That’s incredibly efficient and allows it to run cool even during extended use. Pros: 1. You will feel very giddy at first – in a good way. The curve feels dramatic but quickly becomes natural and immersive. 2. Blazing speed: 165Hz/330Hz refresh and 0.03 ms response time. 3. Convenience: Auto input switching and DisplayPort audio. 4. Cinematic ultrawide 21:9 ratio with a vertical 2160 resolution. 5. Immersive and ideal for games and movies with deeper blacks. 6. Low power usage and high efficiency. 7. Matte finish eliminates distracting reflections. 8. Customizable backlight with functional design choices like the black rear panel. Cons: 1. A faint white vertical bar appeared at first, but OLED Image Cleaning resolved it quickly. 2. On the pricey side, though the feature set justifies the cost. 3. Your GPU or CPU may need upgrading to handle the full 5K2K resolution. 4. For uncompressed DisplayPort 2.0/2.1 support, you’ll need an RTX 5000 or RX 7000 series card. Final Thoughts If you're looking for a monitor that blends stunning visuals, fast refresh rates, immersive curvature, and premium build quality—this is it. I didn’t get to see this in person before buying, but after using it for a day, I can confidently say I will be more than 100% satisfied with it for years to come. Highly recommended.
