I just upgraded today from a Samsung LED G9 Odyssey 49 inch, to his 45 inches of LG OLED awesomeness! The 4K resolution for gaming is a game changer for me. Day and night difference in picture quality and game screen size for games. Truly you get more screen with this 45 inch than the 49 ultrawide samsung monitor. I have a i9 intel, RTX 4090 card and 32 RAM and I had no issues whatsoever with the monitor... it was truly a seamless plug and play experience. So maybe the ones having issues with the DP 2.1 cable is because their PCs are older/less capable? I truly had no hiccups at all. Definitely a must buy for me. Totally recommended. I play mostly Marvel Rivals and let me tell you, the picture quality at epic graphics and Quality DLSS setting is the best. I calibrated the picture quality to "Gamer 2", reduced the sharpness to 50, set the Peak Brightness to High and the Gamma to "Mode 4" and to me that is best awesome quality I've been dreaming for! truly worth the upgrade and the money I paid (the full $2K).

So happy with this monitor after some adjustments

I’m coming from a alienware OLED monitor and I’m very happy with this one! First the size/resolution is hands down the best feature of this monitor. The curve is aggressive, but works well for the size. This curve would be too much for me on a smaller monitor. Out of the box the picture is not great, but after adjusting the setting the picture is incredible. I will miss the glossy screen from my last monitor because matte does loss that “pop”, but it’s not an extreme difference. If you have the money then I would highly recommend this. The main issue right now is even though an Nvidia 5090 can run games pretty well, newer games will probably still struggle at high settings. So the combined investment for everything is very high.

    A Beast!

This monitor is an absolute beast. The 5K2K resolution on a 45" curved OLED screen is stunning—text is crisp, colors pop, and the blacks are deep as night. I use it for both work and gaming, and it's honestly changed the way I multitask. The curve pulls you right in, and the dual-mode toggle (5K at 165Hz or 2K at 330Hz) is genius—feels like having two monitors in one. Gaming feels buttery smooth, especially in 2K mode. And for creative work or editing, the clarity and space are unbeatable. Only downside is it's not super bright, so not ideal in really sunny rooms. Still, if you've got the space and budget, this thing is next-level.

Purchased this mainly for a driving simulator. Powered by a Radeon 7900XTX. Beautiful monitor. Deep blacks, colors pop out, muted sightly due to not being a glossy panel. Occasional VRR flickering gets a bit annoying but to be expected. Used with HDMI 2.1. There is some mention about the display port not being the latest standard of DP 2.1 UBHR 20 given the $2000 price, but this is academic in my opinion, looking at the quality of the image that isnt a deal breaker. Was initially hesitant about the extreme curve but it works perfectly for driving simulators. I like this so much that I am getting a second one for Microsoft Flight Simulator setup. One review on LG.com had green lines on the monitor, only hope I dont get this.

Upgrading from the 38" Alienware AW3821DW and I can say that OLED is a game changer! The upped 5k2k resolution is amazing once you are dialed in with the colors and the curve becomes one with your pupils!

Loving this monitor so far. Upgraded from LG 34” 21:9 1440p. 5k2k Resolution is fantastic. The size is impressive. Certainly meant for larger desks and/or wall mounting. If you decide to use this monitor for gaming, be certain your GPU can run the resolution. DLSS or FSR can help with this. The curve is great for immersion and productivity. Could be excessive IF you sat too far away. I keep peak brightness on low so that I can sit closer without straining my eyes. At the current sale price, I would encourage anyone looking at this monitor to pull the trigger. At MSRP, I would suggest making sure it is in your budget, as it is a premium product with premium price tag.

I do mostly programming, but also the occasional gaming. this monitor is connected to a mac pro as well as my gaming pc, and works well with both. the viewing angle took a couple of days to get used to but i simply cant go back now.

    LG UltraGear 45” OLED : A 5K2K Workhorse

The best “do-everything” display I’ve ever used (work + competitive gaming in one) The LG UltraGear 45” OLED Dual Mode is hands-down one of the most impressive monitors I’ve ever owned. It’s the rare display that genuinely feels built for two different worlds: cinematic, ultra-sharp productivity and content work… and then instant-switch, high-speed competitive gaming. The Dual Mode is the killer feature. In one moment you’re in 5K2K WUHD at 165Hz, which looks absolutely insane at 45 inches — crisp text, huge workspace, and a wide, immersive canvas that makes everything feel premium. Then when you want raw performance, flipping to WFHD 330Hz turns it into a competitive gaming monster. That flexibility alone makes it worth it because it replaces what would normally be two separate monitors. And because it’s OLED, the picture quality is on another level: • Perfect blacks and insane contrast • Colors look rich and clean without that “washed” IPS glow • Motion looks ridiculously smooth, especially paired with the 0.03ms response time It also nails the essentials for serious gaming. G-Sync/FreeSync Premium Pro makes gameplay feel stable and fluid with no distracting tearing, and the overall responsiveness is instantly noticeable — aiming feels tighter, tracking feels cleaner, and fast movement stays readable. Build quality is exactly what you expect from LG’s UltraGear line: solid, premium, and designed like it means business. It’s also one of the few monitors that feels equally at home as a high-end workstation display and a top-tier gaming panel. If you want a monitor that can do editing, productivity, console gaming, PC gaming, and esports-level performance without compromise, this is it. It’s not just a monitor — it’s a whole setup upgrade. Highly recommended.

Great monitor, but constant shutdown issues

I bought this as an open-box deal and honestly felt like I was getting a steal at first. For the price, the performance was amazing. The screen quality is fantastic, the features are excellent, and the size is perfect for both gaming and streaming. I used it heavily with my NVIDIA Shield and my PC, and the curved ultrawide design always looked natural — nothing ever felt distorted or out of place. However, the biggest problem (and the reason for my low rating) is the monitor randomly shutting off. I tried everything to fix it. First I thought it was the cable connection, so I replaced every cord. It worked for a bit, then the shutoffs came back. Next, I assumed it was the power supply. I bought another one, and again it worked… until the same issue returned. So while the monitor looks great and performs well when it’s working, the reliability isn’t there. The constant power shutoffs make it frustrating to use. It’s a great monitor held back by persistent technical problems, and that keeps me from fully recommending it.

The most beautiful & productive piece of equipment

I don’t say this lightly: the LG UltraGear 45" OLED Dual Mode has completely redefined how I work and how I enjoy my setup. This isn’t just a gaming monitor — it’s a command center. The OLED panel is jaw-dropping. Blacks are truly black. Colors have depth and richness that make everything else I’ve used look flat by comparison. Text is crisp, UI elements feel dimensional, and content just… breathes. Whether I’m working across multiple apps, editing, reading, or simply sitting in front of it for hours, the visual comfort is on another level. The dual-mode refresh rates are genius. Being able to switch between ultra-wide, high-resolution productivity mode and insanely fast gaming mode makes this monitor feel like two premium displays in one. It adapts to how I work, not the other way around. And the size — wow. At 45 inches, this thing replaces multiple monitors without bezels, seams, or distractions. I can keep everything in view, stay focused longer, and move faster. It’s the single biggest upgrade I’ve ever made to my daily workflow. Build quality is excellent, the curve is immersive without being aggressive, and LG’s OLED care features give peace of mind for long sessions. Bottom line: This monitor didn’t just improve my setup — it elevated it. It’s the most beautiful, productive piece of equipment I’ve ever owned, and once you experience OLED at this scale, there’s no going back.

I was concerned about the “aggressive” curvature (R800) distorting the picture for CAD work, and it does, but far less than I was afraid of. (My prior monitor was a R1000.) In the end, the OLED provides excellent quality for photography applications and the 5k2k resolution plenty of room for all my applications (including technical drawings and CAD). The USB connectivity not only extends USB to a hub, but it also allows controlling the monitor (albeit only from one computer even when using all four video inputs) and update firmware. The $2000 full price is gefty, and the $1500 special offer still pricey, but it is an amazing monitor … provided you have a powerful enough graphics card and high speed cable.

This LG UltraGear 45” OLED is simply the best of the best — nothing else comes close. The OLED panel is breathtaking with perfect blacks, vibrant colors, and HDR that makes games and movies feel alive. The dual mode is a genius feature: 5K2K at 165Hz for the most immersive ultrawide experience, or WFHD at a blazing 330Hz when I need every competitive edge. The curve wraps around my vision for total immersion, and the response time is instant. I’ve owned plenty of high-end monitors, but this one sets a new standard. If you want the ultimate display for gaming, productivity, and sheer wow factor, this is it. Worth every penny — an absolute masterpiece from LG.

Have used this exclusively for productivity. I had tried the previous 1440p version of this and felt the text was too blurry to use for work and development. This new monitor is a night and day difference for text clarity. It’s very sharp. Color and brightness are also great. I enjoy only needing one cable to connect my MacBook with to both display and power. My only issue there though is a lack of option to keep producing power to maintain charge on the Mac if the display goes unused into standby mode. Speakers are a little flat, but they are more than serviceable for basic audio needs. All in all, it’s exactly what I was hoping for. I will eventually attempt to use for gaming, but that is secondary for me.
