I think this is the lightest laptop I've owned. I was looking for laptop than I can use for work and games as-well, and so happy I found an open-box with high quality. The screen is huge and bright. The build quality is exceptional. It comes with 16GB DDR5 and "not soldered", so it can be upgraded to 64GB. The 512gb nvme that's comes with it is Gen4 and super fast. It also has a second slot for additional nvme Gen3.

Love this laptop. This laptop is fast. Has a backlit keyboard. (FN key and F8 once for low twice for high). The keyboard feel nice to use. Not too hard or too squishy. Love that it has the keypad as well. The screen is beautiful and clear. for a 17 inch laptop it really is too heavy. This laptop has plenty of ports including an ethernet port. It only has a 512 hard drive but has a micro SD slot so I am good with that. Even has a headphone jack so you don't have to rely or buy bluetooth headphones. This is my first LG, I am hoping it will prove to be good investment since so many other manufacturers have went downhill. It is really quiet of course the fan will come on when doing some heavy processing. Love that it has Nvidia GEFORCE TRX dedicated graphics. I have Adobe Photo shop and Premiere elements and they seem to work great. Battery life is good, Not sure as long as they say but pretty darn close. It comes with Windows 11 which was fine I was already using before. The power cord is long which you don't find much anymore. Over all this is a great laptop and with the sale Best Buy had even better.

This is my first LG PC, but needed for business and couldn't wait for black Friday sales. I got the 17" and like the larger keyboard with 10 key digital. I wish it was backlit and touch screen, but has the necessary storage and able to handle creating images, videos, etc., for business.

    Very Good Upper-Midrange LG Laptop

I've been using this thing for quite a bit now (around 3 or so weeks) and I can say I'm pretty impressed. It's not the fastest laptop on the market, yet it is no slouch. Bootup and wake up times are almost instantaneous. It is also nice that the RAM and storage are upgradable, which is good for down the road. The LG Glance software which can blur the screen is sort of a big gimmick, most times it'll blur the screen even when I'm looking right at it. There is a bit more chassis flex than I would like, but its not bad. The only design flaws I don't really like is the really small touchpad, so if you use your touchpad regularly and you have large hands this isn't the laptop for you unless you use a mouse. The webcam isn't amazing also but I rarely use it and it's good enough for the usual video chat. It also sort of sucks that the bezel is made from a cheap-ish plastic, it should be something else for the price but you get used to it very quick. The display on this thing is amazing! The color accuracy is amazing and even my friends who use MacBooks were quite impressed. I got it on Best Buy for $1000, which is an awesome price point for these 17-inch notebooks. A similar Dell would cost you around $2000. The wireless connectivity is really nice, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 is really nice for newer devices. The only thing I am confused about is if the USB-C port is really thunderbolt or not. There is a thunderbolt logo on the device but there is no documentation on the LG website but there is in the manual that you find pre-installed. Battery life is very good, I haven't been able to hit the advertised 9 hours but I can get 7.5-8 hours no problem. All in all however, this is a great laptop for the price point. My first LG laptop is very good!

Nice sweet spot for a laptop. The recent sale price made this a great value, less so at the full retail price. Replaced a 7 year old HP i7 laptop that is still going strong for 99% of what most people do, but I wanted better graphics and screen resolution and this machine delivers that with 12th Generation i7 and a 3050 Nvidia. Amazed at how they cram so much technology into a light and compact frame, especially for a 17 inch display, which for my old eyes, needs all the screen real estate they can get. Build quality is excellent and I added a Samsung 970 NVMe M.2 2TB SSD into the open slot. Removal of the bottom cover was quick and easy, unlike some other machines you might want to upgrade, This laptop is, as expected from the specs, very fast. Although it utilizes DDR5 memory, it is soldered to the board and cannot be increased. While 16GB is currently plenty enough for most folks and most functions, if you are heavy into video or other RAM intensive tasks, you will be limited and should reconsider. LG was not stingy with the ports for such a thin machine, and it has a Ethernet port for those who like and need a hard-wired connection. Additionally, the surface seems durable and shuns fingerprints and marring well. I have had the machine for about a week only, so the verdict is still out on durability and other issues such as battery life, but my first impression is entirely positive. Packaging is nice, and shipping from Best Buy was fast and secure.

Outstanding Laptop - Very Happy with Purchase

This laptop is great -- I think it is as good as, or even better than, the Macbook Pro I use for work, but at 2/3 the cost (and I got it on sale). It looks like a Macbook, too - same kind of color and design. I never considered LG as a laptop manufacturer (I usually got HP), and I had some reservations when making the purchase. They were unfounded. LG did a great job with this laptop and should market it more. What I wanted in a laptop: - Something good for work/productivity. This computer has a good keyboard for typing and good trackpad; I can easily select things without a hassle and type quickly - CHECK - Great screen clarity and 17 in + size! One of the things I do a lot of is streaming videos or other content. This computer has slightly better than QHD resolution which is higher than full HD and less than 4K... The images are super clear and detailed. I can really tell the difference. I haven't tested it with standard def media yet, so hopefully that will look okay. But I am really happy with the screen detail so far - not a surprise, since LG is known for making TVs and phones. Great screen - CHECK - Fast processor, good ram and good graphics card that I could use for video editing and graphics. I haven't tested it, but the Intel I7, 16 GB ram and Nvidia Geforce 3050 should cover all of that. CHECK The only thing missing that would have made this computer PERFECT is 1 TB of storage. That was a missed opportunity and the only thing I regret, so far. But I rationalized that I can get by with an external hard drive and would probably need one anyway for videos. Other comments - Battery life seems as promised... about 10 hours with average intensity use (streaming). Not incredible, but good enough, for me at least. I had returned three computers for various issues, mostly involving the trackpad or the screen. However, I plan to keep this one. So glad I took a chance and bought it.

Excellent laptop. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the Win11 user interface. But that's not necessarily LG's fault. Otherwise it has fast boot up/shutdown, web surfing is a breeze, it's got looonnngg battery life. Notably, it has an Ethernet RJ45 input, plenty of USB 3.0 but the lack of an on board disc drive means paying extra to get one as an accessory. I was sold on it when it went on sale at $500 off MSRP.

The laptop is very lite compared to the 14-year-old Dell laptop it is replacing. The memory storage is small for a gaming laptop considering that several of the games I use require 60 GB. Before I can fully test it for gaming I need to add a 2nd drive. I knocked off a star for the gift of software I don't need as I already have a subscription to the service (Webroot) and the lack of storage.

I’ve been using the LG - UltraPC 17” Laptop for a little over two weeks and the purchase and use experience has been excellent. I purchase the LG laptop to replace an older high-end Core i7 17.3” laptop. Although the LG screen in about .5” narrower, the screen height is greater, and it has worked out to be a good tradeoff. I thought my HD screen on my old laptop was really great until I started using the spectacular screen on the LG. The color rendering along with the high resolution is impressive. My requirements for a new laptop included an Intel 12th Generation Core i7, 17” screen with resolution greater than HD resolution, three or more USB ports, 16 gig memory, 512 gig SSD, backlit keyboard, SD card slot and an Ethernet port to take advantage of our gigabit internet. The USB ports, SD slot, screen resolution and Ethernet requirements narrowed the selection of systems to buy, and I was happy to find the LG system and I’m very pleased with it. The LG also has a high-quality look and feel as well.

I found this laptop for an outrageous Black Friday/clearance combo at Best Buy that was too hard to pass up on. I first reviewed this on LG's own website, but though it might garner more attention from Best Buy where most users go to purchase laptops. This model has two physical RAM slots with the ability to remove and upgrade the RAM amount. In a world where RAM can often be soldered on, it's nice to see laptops that still have the upgradeability built-in. There's also two NVME drive slots. The primary is the gen 4 slot which contains the main drive. The secondary slot is gen 3 only. I replaced the factory drive with a 2TB gen 4 drive and couldn't be happier. Fastest speed available and plenty of space! The gorgeous 2K resolution IPS screen has great contrast for a non-OLED display. I'd put it up there neck and neck with the display of my HP Omen IPS monitor, so no real complaints with the display. The keyboard is rather frustrating. I don't like the typing feel of the keys. My wife's laptop I got her for $300 a few years ago has a better keyboard on it. The speakers on this thing are garbage as well. I don't know why any manufacturer still opts for down-firing only speakers. It's not good, like at all. Far too muddy sounding. It'll get the job done on the go, but certainly have external speakers in mind if you are going to spend any real time listening to music or playing games on this. Or at least get a decent headset. Keyboard and audio is why I deduct a star from this laptop. Everything else is great! They put a fast processor in this computer, a decent amount of RAM, and a speedy NVME drive. That combined with a nice screen make for an enjoyable laptop experience. I like that this doesn't come across as too bulky. Yes, it's a 17" laptop which is inherently large, but compared to other gaming laptops it's much thinner and lighter. like the understated/simplistic look. I don't care for flashy lights, and I hate thick & heavy laptops. I don't have to be embarrassed to have this out in public. I don't feel that this computer is worth it's retail asking price of $1600-$1800 that it's going for online. Nowhere near that! If you can find it for around half that (or even far less if super lucky like I was) then I'd say go for it, but there's so many other options under $1000 with comparable specs. I think this particular laptop is priced as high as it is due to having a sleek/slim design while still cramming a gaming quality graphics card in it. You pay a premium for great power combined with pleasing aesthetics. For me this laptop is perfect because it's sort of a jack-of-all-trades with all the power one could want from a laptop. You could use this for work during the day, and then be able to relax and fire up a game in your free time. The large IPS screen allows you to easily enjoy 2K resolution gaming on the go. I'll be taking this to my friends to enjoy some LAN gaming from time to time, without the need to haul my gaming desktop anywhere. Like my title says, this laptop is a wolf in sheeps clothing. You bring this out to your family or friends and no one will expect it to be able to perform as well as it does based on looks alone.

I have had this laptop for 3 hours, but researced it for 2 days straight. That includes the 3 reviews posted here. Unfortunately there is very little information online about this model as every reiview refers back to the LG Gram... Anyway! I absolutely love this laptop!! Here,s why: 1. Large display with amazing brightness, 2. Sturdy display hinge only needing one finger to open. 3. Keyboard backlight. { one of the reviews said it didnt have it} 4. fingerprint sensor. { doesn't even mention that on the LG website} 5. Metal chassis { honestly feels like my Macbook pro M1 16" } 6. Extremely fast boot time There are so many surprises that are not mentioned on LG's website that it almost is like a surprise gift from ME! I now know why this laptop is sold out.... I purchased the last one at my local store.

…but the 16gb total memory is such a downer! ☹️ I searched online if that memory can be upgraded but I didn’t find any info (or maybe I have not searched enough) and I could risk losing my warranty if I just winged it. Returned this laptop and got myself a Dell. Other than that, I had no complaints.
