These are a must if you have the LG Washer/Dryer!

These pedestals are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. If you purchase them along with the washer and dryer, you will be adding an extra $500 to the purchase total. Some people may balk at this and deem it an unnecessary expenditure. I can assure you that, like the LG washer and dryer, this will be money well-spent! The pedestals serve several useful and important purposes. First and foremost, they raise both the washer and dryer to a comfortable level that does not require bending or stooping down. This feature alone was worth the price of admission for me! I have a relatively small laundry room and so space is at a premium for me. The fact that these pedestals also have spacious drawers in them is just icing on the cake for me! The drawers slide out very easily and don't feel cheap or flimsy at all. They easily glide out and slide shut. The drawer is divided into two equal sections and both are quite spacious. However, it would've been really nice if the largest liquid detergent containers would've been able to fit in these. That might have made the pedestals too tall and thereby affected the optimum height of the washer. My large container of Tide will fit in the drawer, but I have to lay it down on its side. I mitigated this problem by buying smaller bottles of Tide, Downy, and All that will fit in the drawers. I refill them from my larger containers that I store in the closet. These pedestals were, in my opinion, an essential component to the LG washer and dryer. They have augmented two fantastic machines and made them even better. The pedestals afford storage space for laundry items, which is a huge plus. They also elevate the machines to facilitate easy loading and unloading of clothes. If I had it to do all over again, I'd buy the pedestals without a second thought!

Johnny at the Pasadena Best Buy/Pacific Sales store has been invaluable in our buying process for our kitchen remodel. Our intent was only to buy a new fridge and cooktop. And after dealing with Johnny on those purchases, we ended up going back to him to pick up thes pedestals, wall oven unit, vent hood, washer and dryer. Johnny actually highly recommended these pedestals even though I believe they are overpriced. But he convinced me that it's a good long term investment ergonomically-easier on the back. And I am beginning to believe he was right on this point. Aside from his product knowledge, Johnny was on the lookout for price match and rebates as well as upcoming deals that helped us make the most use of our budget. I hardly write reviews. This would be my 3rd review ever (Best Buy reviews would be the 3rd set of reviews). But it is my pleasure to be writing this review for Johnny and his boss Herb as they have been super helpful; pre, during and post purchase - an end-to-end experience that defines customer service. I will definitely refer friends and family to Johnny and team there

Great addition to the LG washer/dryer

I wish I could have found these on sale, but overall I'm happy with them. They go great with the LG washer and dryer, it was just a little difficult getting the units up there. It's a 2 person job (2 stronger people). The drawers are definitely handy. I have a storage cabinet where I'm used to keeping all my supplies, so I don't really have much in the new drawers, but I'm sure I'll fill them with stuff before long. Most of all, I like how it lifts the washer and dryer up to about chest or belly high, which makes it easier when moving stuff from the washer to the dryer, no bending down or anything. One downside to the additional height is that the drawer on the LG washer to add detergent is high enough that if you're short (my wife is 5'2", but I'm okay at 6') it may make it harder to see in there to know how much to add. If you were less than 5' high you may want to rethink the pedestal. Same with the optional water for the steam dryer feature if you have that on your LG dryer. Otherwise, great color match, and it really makes your laundry room pop, while giving some good storage in the process.

I bought the LG front load washer and dryer but comtemplated for a long time if buying the pedestals were really necessary. Afterall they are very expensive when compared to the washer/dryer themselves. Most people would think that they would use them for storage of their detergents, but you should know that the liquid detergents don't fit! They are about 2 inches too high to fit standing upright. But we've found that the pedestals are better for storing dirty clothes, blankets, or other items that you might need in a hurry and within reach. So don't think that you need them for storaging only washing products! Afterall the capacity is huge and you could use it for many things, you just have to be creative. As for as the looks, it is worth every dollar paid because it makes the whole set of washer/dryer looks so good, and it makes putting and pulling the clothes in and out of them easy. This model matches the machines better than the pedestals with the handles that usually are displayed at the stores. I have no regrets spending money on them.

I bought this pedestal for for my washer and dryer and it worked for a while. Now the drawer on the pedestal will not close fully because of a cheap plastic stop on the drawer guide rail that broke. I tried calling LG to buy the plastic drawer stop and they said that I have to buy the entire guide rail which is $56. They said to call Lg parts suppliers which I did and I was told the same thing. I could not buy just the plastic stop , but I would have to buy the entire rail. Why would they not sell just the plastic stop without without the rail. I would not buy this pedestal again since the guide rail parts are made so cheaply. If you buy this product you will have the same problem.

    Drawer Unremovable, Poorly Packed

This LG pedestal for front loading washers and dryers matches the LG stainless steel finished appliances and provides storage space for laundry supplies or dirty clothes. The shipping container is pretty minimal - thin cardboard with four small Styrofoam supports at the corners. During normal handling hauling the boxes into my garage, one of them split open on the side and spilled the unit out onto the concrete floor. The whole works weighs 60 pounds, which is in excess of the 50 pounds maximum to check as passenger baggage on the airlines (as I have to do to get it to our vacation house.) Therefore I needed to remove the inside drawer to pack separately to get the weight down. Guess what - the drawer can't be removed without unscrewing and disassembling the insides of the pedestal (details on YouTube), so now I'm stuck working on Plan B to airlift two of these to their destination. This is turning into way more of a project than I intended. Good luck!

I really didnt want to buy these pedestals, but if you dont, your washer and dryer will sit too low to the floor in my opinion. The difference it makes in that alone and looks is a big reason to purchase these. You do also get the added bonus of some space to put things, but the bummer is you cant fit a regular size Tide or Snuggle. You have to put them in sort of sideways to work and make really sure the lids are tight so no leaking. The drawers glide open and shut very nice. What I hated about the set is the price. One nice thing about Best Buy is that they will price match though...so if you find this set at a lesser price somewhere else, if you can prove it, you will save money. At the time of my purchase they were not less anywhere else so I had to pay full price. I was not happy about this at all, but honestly, I would have been even more unhappy without having them. I love the washer and dryer so much though that these pedestals are a must so I went ahead and bought them anyway.

Well Made But You Cannot Store Standard Wash Items

The primary purpose of the stand is to raise the front loading washing machine off the floor so that you do not need to stoop to load/unload clothes from it. It does this well. However, the other reason you purchase it is for storage. The irony is that the maximum storage height inside the slide out drawer is 10.5 inches. All standard bottle wash detergents (e.g. Tide bottles) are 11.5 inches. Thus, you cannot store any of these items standing up (the only way you would want to) in the drawer. This really limits its usefulness. All LG needed to do was raise the overall height of the stand by 1 inch and it would have been totally functional and really usable. So, basically you pay around $150 for a stand so you do not have to bend over as much when loading your clothes. Not a very good design.

Started having problems with our old Washer/Dryer which we had since 2002. We we not even in the market for a Front Load Washer until the wife started looking at them and realized with the pedestal under the Washer/Dryer it was a lot easier getting the clothes in and out. AND you could store the Bottles of Detergent etc. in the pedestal. Everything worked out great until we tried to put the big Detergent in pedestal. It would not fit standing up. So the Detergent still ends up on top of Washer. LG should have seen this coming and I should have too. That is the only GOTCHA we have rand into. The LG Washer/Dryer working fine and saving water over previous washer.

I was shocked the pedestal was going to cost nearly half what the appliances did. So, I waited to try the new W/D without. After a couple of months, I finally decided the machines are lower to the floor than my previous brand of front loaders, and the drums sat further back or were longer, too. Buying the pedestals put the W/D at almost the perfect height to save my back. The storage drawers also helped declutter the laundry area. Might be overpriced, but they do the job. I had to raise the pedestal leveling feet high enough to get the drawer to clear the carpet and trim in front of the laundry closet. If I had to raise them much more, I think a piece of plywood under them would have been needed to ensure they stayed level without rattling too much. Just FYI, in case you have a lower floor under the pedestal and a higher floor where the drawer needs to open.

Don't purchase. This product doesn't hold laundry detergents at all. I am currently using this product to store lightbulbs. The way they get you is that it's installed before you realize its function is useless and how many of you will lift the dryer or washer off of the pedestal to return it. Wish I did a research on these before it was offered to me in the store for its ability to store laundry detergents. IT DOES NOT HOLD ANY DETERGENTS!!! I wish I saw all of the websites devoted to people who hate this product.

It's pretty, it hold things, and it keeps my washer off the ground. My poor review isn't because of the product itself, but the fact that I can't seem to get it to stop sounding like a jet engine about to launch itself into space. When the washer goes into spin, it's terrifying. I keep picturing the washer vibrating off of the pedestal and crashing to the ground. I've already had BestBuy send a guy out who pretty much told me that it's not all that bad, pretended to make an adjustment, and left. BestBuy then sent me a satisfaction survey in which I told them of the problem, and haven't heard a peep so I can only assume they don't care. Or, maybe this IS the best it can be. I've bought a lot of appliances and electronics from BestBuy and have always been totally satisfied, so this is VERY disappointing.

The base unit seems to be a profit margin buffer prior to the sale being concluded. I'm not saying it isn't helpful but that's because I am taller than a hobbit and not quite as hairy. But they do have cool rings. Hobbits, not washer stands. That said, the stand has a storage drawer that could be handy. Unless you forget things. Like a tuna sandwich. I highly recommend NOT leaving a tuna sandwich in the bottom stand drawer. That said, we haven't had the stand long enough to know if it is haunted. I don't think the nice people at Lucky Goldstar would send possessed stands to sell through Best Buy. Although based on what we see on t.v. lately regarding the control of our borders, one could be excused for exercising proper due diligence. After all, we all remember what happened in that movie 'Poltergeist'.

The pedestal for my 13-year-old Samsung was just a big empty cavern where things got lost, but the LG pedestal has a divider that you can adjust for your particular needs. It helps keep bottles upright, and I can easily get to all of the items in the back without shuffling anything around. I have a SideKick under the washer, so I was afraid that all of the stuff I had stored in two pedestals under the older washer and dryer weren't going to fit in one, but I was pleasantly surprised about how much actual storage this pedestal has. I really think the divider helps me optimize the space so it all fits.

I asked for refund on my LG purchase and purchased a Samsung set. When the Samsung set arrived with the Lead installer, the LG set was removed he informed me that the LG set was installed incorrectly so it affected the performance. It was the only LGs he ever returned. I felt cheated when he told me they were very superior but it was such a mess the first individual purchases, refunds, returns, then the Samsung purchase. I really wanted a new BEST LG WASHER, MINI WASHER/DRYER SET. So I'm disappointed in Best Buy! Also, in all aisles employees are talking but not providing true customer service so purchasing takes longer.

Got a pair of these for washer and dryer. I like the quality of these drawers compared to others that I have had for Kenmore appliances. The drawers come out smoothly, have a nice finish to them, allow plenty of storage and put your washer and dryer at a nice height. I have a small area for washer and dryer and this was still a perfect height for fitting into the area. I priced these at several stores and Best Buy was much cheaper than Sears and Lowes(I think it was Lowes, it could have been Home Depot). I am a little upset at how much pedestals always run because there is no where else you can buy another brand so it's always overpriced for what is essentially a small container but the build and quality isn't bad.

This pedestal fails at its primary purpose; to store laundry supplies. In the US a standard detergent bottle is about 11.5 inches, this unit only has internal storage space of ~10,5 inches, due to a cross piece of the front frame. Clearly their engineers are not in tune with the US marketplace. This is the 4th brand of washer and dryer that I have owned with a pedestal and this is the first that cannot properly hold detergent bottles - absurd!!

We've had the new washer, dryer and sidekick for about 2 weeks now and we love them. They are much quieter than our old ones and the clothes are washed and dried much faster and look and feel better. Being on the pedestals reduces the bending over when loading and unloading. Installed them myself. They are very heavy! I ended up putting small sliders under each foot so I could move them - works great! Impossible to move them without the sliders. Highly recommend you do the same because you will eventually have to move them. When you arrange for delivery make sure they will take them out of the box and put both the washer and dryer on their pedestals. Like I said earlier, they are very heavy.

    Pedestal for LG Washer/Dryer

I bought a LG Washer/Dryer combo and it was pretty apparent that you almost need to buy these pedestals. While I wasn't necessarily looking forward to adding 2 expensive items to my already heavy purchase I think these look good and add decent storage in my already cramped laundry room. I am around 6' tall and my wife is slightly shorter. If we didn't buy these the washer and dryer are pretty low to the ground. The pedestal acutally raises the controls at just below eye level for me so it is nice to not have to hunch over to operate. The biggest draw back is that large degerent bottles don't fit in the drawer. We got around that by getting a smaller bottle to store detergent in but would be nice if it was 4" deeper.

Lg should lower the price on what amounts to storage boxes to lift your dryer and washer to ideal height. Very expensive for what it does but still a necessary item when considering front loaders. Absurd that detergent bottles do not fit standing up. They have to be tilted. Not a deal breaker but nevertheless annoying. Decided to switch to pods. What is another 1” tall? Come on lg listen to the thousands of complaints about the height! We all can’t be wrong. Or detergent manufacturers need to adapt their scale to the pedestal model.
