LG wants you to bring the party with its XBOOM XL7 Bluetooth speaker. With a reverberating sound, eye-catching lighting features, and easy portability, the XBOOM XL7 can be your do-it-all entertainment hub. Standing over two-feet tall and weighing in at almost 35 lbs., the XBOOM XL7 truly is extra large and catches your eye right off the bat. Big buttons and a smooth, curved surface create a simple, approachable design that doesn't need a lot of instruction to get going. I especially like the big, sturdy wheels and collapsible, locking handle which lend to its easy mobility even despite its large size. While Bluetooth is the most likely connection option for most people, the XBOOM XL7 has a covered panel on the back of the speaker which hides some Line-Ins for a microphone and a guitar, as well as a USB input for direct music play from a USB storage device. You can even highlight the music track if Karaoke is your thing using the dials on the back. Showcasing 250 watts pumping out of an 8" full range woofer, you will feel the music that basically overtakes everything nearby. Even at a low volume, the bass will vibrate into its surroundings. The bright lights really pop, and they will become a party favorite with all the different pattern options from which you can choose at the push of a button. Playing music from a laptop, tablet, or mobile device through Bluetooth is as easy as ever, with no discernable connectivity issues on my end. I'd say the XBOOM XL7 is a "set-and-forget" type of device, except it really is going to be the most eye-catching object in any room, firepit circle, campground, dance hall, or party where it sits and provides the entertainment. The speaker comes with a removable A/C cord to charge it when not in use or to keep continuous power going outside of a very respectable 20+ hour battery life. It is also packaged with a ferrite core clip to reduce low-frequency noise, absorb high-frequency noise, and produce cleaner sound. With an IPX4 water resistant rating, the XBOOM XL7 can be used outdoors and poolside so you don't have to worry. Overall, LG has your party covered with an amazing device. Right out of the box you know this speaker is going to be impressive. It weighs just enough to feel like a beast while also being light enough to maintain portability with the innovative built in wheels and surprise pull out handle. The speaker came securely packaged in a sturdy cardboard box and arrived in perfect condition. Setting the speaker up was a breeze, I just plugged it in, let it charge for about half an hour, then started it up with the power button. The speaker comes with a very simple fold-out manual that is basically a one page diagram with a QR code to scan and get the LG XBoom app on your smartphone. After installing the LG XBoom app and connecting to the speaker you can use the app to see the speaker battery level, adjust sound, dot animation and woofer light settings as well as many other useful features like the Karaoke settings, DJ sound tools and wireless party link settings and more. The LG XBoom XL7 was designed for a party and is ready to show off with its colorful lighting and booming sound. I love all the dancing lights and the customizable settings available in the app. The dot animation panel is fun to watch and even better, you can create customer text to scroll or flash for a party or special event. There are only 10 premade dot animations to choose from at the moment but hopefully LG will create more to add to the library with future updates. It would also be cool if they created an app feature to allow users to create their own dot animations, beyond just the scrolling text. Speaking of parties, the Karaoke feature on the speaker works great and can be really fun when using it with the XBoom app. I highly recommend using it at your next party for some great memories with friends and family. There is also a guitar jack for anyone who plays or has friends who play. I didn’t get a chance to try hooking it up to a guitar yet but I’m sure it sounds great. The speaker sounds great and can get really loud, much louder than I’ll ever need. You can adjust the sound with the app using the preset sound boost setting or by adjusting the levels yourself for a more customized sound. You do have the option to connect this to another LG speaker with the Party Link function to get a left/right stereo sound experience, which would be really cool and I hope to be able to try out at some point in the future if I ever get another LG speaker with the Party Link function. I love that this speaker has a battery that can last for up to 20 hours when used with the lights off. I also appreciate that it is IPX4 rated so that I can take it to an outdoor party and not have to be too concerned with spills or a light sprinkle of rain. The portability of the speaker is awesome and it’s actually pretty cool to show up rolling this thing, while playing music behind you. The Karaoke feature can really help to bring a party to life and the dancing colorful lights are mesmerizing to watch while being entertained by the person performing. You can even change the name being shown on the dot animation to show the name of each singer for a karaoke party. I really like everything about this speaker, it’s incredibly fun and I want to show it off to all of my friends, which means more parties! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a loud impressive speaker that likes to show off and is something you can take with you when going on a trip.

The LG - XBOOM XL7 Portable Tower Speaker with Pixel LED is a solid party in a box. It is solid and well built. Although it has some heft to it, it is easily portable with wheels and and extendable/retractable handle. It is very well built. The factory sound setting is flat out of the box. You can download the app for it and adjust the EQ settings. I was initially disappointed with the bass response until adjusting the EQ in the app. The sound is fine for a party setting, I'm just saying it isn't high fidelity sound, but perfectly suited for a party environment. The light modes can be adjusted via the app or from the LG - XBOOM XL7 Portable Tower Speaker with Pixel LED box itself. The app has other has DJ mode with sound mixer effects and even custom sounds. It can be used as a PA system or Karoake with a connected microphone. Various lighting effects can be adjusted from the box or the the app, definitely ups the party atmosphere. You can bluetooth to it and stream from your phone or streaming services. The LG - XBOOM XL7 Portable Tower Speaker with Pixel LED can be turned off/on manually using power button on it, but can also be done through the app. It provides enough sound quality for a party. I wish it would be able to provide more bass that you can feel, but like I said, it's not high fidelity. BUT it is definitely a portable party in a box. Look forward to using it for parties indoors and outdoors. I also forgot to mention that it can be used plugged or unplugged because it has a rechargeable battery!

The LG - XBOOM XL7 Portable Tower Speaker is amazing and well worth the monies. Speaker itself is easy to move around due to the wheels built into the device. I can also extend the handle on top to move it like luggage. I roll it out to the pool and it is awesome. Setup and connection - very simple and easy to use. I was able to get it connected to my phone within seconds without issues. It plays and sounds great and easy to change the LED screen above the speaker with a few different choices and designs. Sound Quality is equally surprising and enjoyable. Bass is rich and the music is very clear. I was able to play music quickly from my phone. I downloaded the LG XBOOM software and withing a couple of minutes music was playing as needed for my Pool Party. The kids love the colors and the lights that flash as the music is playing. We played the speaker for several hours over the weekend and never plugged it in. Definitely played over 10 hours over the weekend without fail. Great speaker which is water resistant, I wouldn't hesitate to take this on a boat on the lake or to a pool party. You can't go wrong with this choice, I honestly cannot say enough about how amazing this speaker is for keeping all of us entertained for hours.

Didn’t like the sound it is not very loud I thought it will louder

With tons of Bluetooth speakers out there, it's hard to stand out from the rest. This LG XBOOM definitely is the life of the party! It's tall, lights up with different animations, is extremely portable with the suitcase style handle and wheels, and is extremely loud with solid bass. If that's not enough, you can announce your presence by connecting a microphone or instrument such as guitar. The battery life is rated for 20 hours and I've been using it on and off for about a week and I just needed to plug it in to charge from full battery. There is slight customization with the companion app and it's easy to program certain texts, colors, and animations to show on the front face of the speaker. The sound is BOOMING! I had a weekend brunch with my family, brought out this speaker, and wowed them all. The bass is incredibly deep while there is little distortion at high volumes in the mid and upper ranges. There are capacitive buttons on the unit itself for volume, power, and to toggle certain animations but I usually use the app for everything except power. Overall, this speaker definitely brings life to the party!

I was very excited to use the LG XBOOM XL7 portable tower speaker because it essentially a speaker on wheels. LG did a great job designing the speaker taking into account that put a handle on it and wheels allow anyone to move it around easily. Once you have the LG XBOOM app downloaded to your device you are able to unlock all the features of the speaker. The custom color ring lighting can be endlessly customized on the app in order to add to your party. The speaker also features a pixel LED feature that lets you display custom messages or animations on the speaker right above the woofer. Unfortunately this feature was not functioning on my speaker out of the box so I was unable to experience it. I have full faith in LG customer support so I'm sure they will be able to take care of the problem. Sound quality is excellent on the 250 watt speaker. The 8 inch woofer and 2.5 inch tweeters do a great job pumping out high quality sound that did not crack at all even when turned up high. As suggested in the app please make sure to turn off the equalizer function on your device and use the speaker's equalizer which can be accessed via the app. In addition to be able to play music via bluetooth you can also connect a device via USB. The rear of speaker also allows you to connect a mic and or a guitar. The speaker also has a karaoke functionality so that you can have a fun karaoke night at home. To top it all off, the speaker has a large battery that allows you to use it for about 20 hrs without having to plug it in. Overall LG did a great putting together a great speaker. I was a little disappointed that the pixel LED lighting feature did not work however sound quality is great

This review is for the LG XBOOM CL7 portable tower speaker with pixel LED. This thing is legit a party on wheels. Yes it has wheels! I have two other brand speakers like this one. But this one has became my favorite just for the ease of moving it around. It has a collapsible handle much like a suitcase, luggage and wheels. Now the wheels are good not great. I wish they were a little wider apart. The unit tips over very easily from small bumps or uneven surfaces. But still a lot better than carrying around. I live in New Orleans and can’t wait to take this to parades next season. There is always a party in the streets. And you usually have to park blocks away. So being able to transport this easily is a huge plus. And it sounds great. Deep bass and high highs. I am just amazed how great a portable wireless speaker can sound. Super easy to connect to. And has a app to control the lights and LED screen. You can pick from a handful of animations of different cartoons dancing to the music or just lights. I didn’t care so much for this, but my toddlers loved it. The app is easy to use. And it has awesome battery life. More than enough for a full day of use.

My opinion of the LG Xboom is as follows. Packaged well, showed up with no damage. I hate styrofoam packaging, but I also realize it does a good job of protecting the contents. The Xboom showed up with about 70% charged battery, so I was ready to boom right from the box. The app installed with no issue, connected right to my phone with bluetooth and I was in business. The speaker itself is quite heavy, but you aren’t going to get great sound out of a tin can. With the telescoping handle and wheels it moves easily. Build quality is nice, and it looks nice. I listened to all the genres of music that I like, pop, country, rock, dubstep, chill, you name it, even with using the xboom app equalizer and my music app eq, I was never able to get the perfect sound to my ears. The best word I have to describe it is ‘muddy’. It wouldn’t come close to the quality of my 1000w column speaker (not that I expected it to). And it wouldn’t keep up to a pair of 35 year old Klipsch speakers I have. But to be fair, neither of those are portable and battery powered. I also plugged a mic and acoustic guitar into it and sang a few tunes, I dont think I’d want to try to do a coffee house gig with it, there are better options for musicians in the same price range. Speaking of plugging things in, there is no line input. Some of my use scenarios could use a line in, so now I'll need to find a DI box or some other level converter. HOWEVER… the good new is, for the right audience I think this speaker is great but maybe still a little overpriced.. Want some quick tunes out on the deck with a bit of thump, great. Got kids having a party in the basement, great, they will love the blinky light show and will be content with the sound and probably drive you nuts with the crazy sound effects and vocal changes in the app :) Anyplace you want some portable tunes with a little boom, this speaker will work. If I’m rating this as an audiophile musician, it gets 3 stars. Rated as a ‘toy’ for the kids it gets 4 stars.

The LG XBOOM XL7 is a large heavy speaker that, if used, in the way it was intended, is a good speaker. Pros: * Easy to setup * All-in-One design * Long battery life (up to 20 hours) * Wheels to make it easier to move about * Fun, customizable, lights * Mic and guitar input * Weather resistant (not waterproof) * USB port to charge your phone/devices Cons: * Heavy (34 pounds) - but a good thing if outside in windy conditions * App is a little clunky (hard to use to customize animations/lights) * No wireless capability (only bluetooth) * Just OK sound overall * No line in I use the XBOOM XL7 out by the pool, under a covered patio, and it provides plenty of sound for the yard. I have my phone and outdoor TV connected via bluetooth to the speaker and it works well in both situations. The lights are fun at night when it's dark and the speaker is solid so doesn't move when hit with strong winds. With it being weather resistant (not weatherproof), I know that it will be fine sitting on the covered porch without having to move it inside every day. If you are a hard-core audiophile, stay away as this speaker is not intended for you. It definitely isn't meant for listening to music in high quality. But if you want a fun "party" speaker that works well by the pool or outside during a party, then this is one to consider. Giving 4 stars as for the price of this speaker, I would have expected a few missing features (line in, wireless connectivity, Apple AirPlay).

Honestly i was sceptical because of the reviews but i have a okder version of lg speaker and i can say this speaker TOPS it, the loudness the bass everything 10/10
