Rock solid red light and near IR therapy device

After over a decade of using red light therapy—starting back when I had to repurpose red light emitters designed for entirely different industries—it’s incredible to see how far the technology has come. The LifePro BioHeal Red Light Panel is a perfect example of that evolution. This is a rock-solid, purpose-built machine designed specifically for bio-health applications, and it shows in every aspect of its design and performance.
What makes this unit particularly effective is its dual wavelength output, emitting both 660 nm red light and 850 nm near-infrared light. This combination supports a broad spectrum of therapeutic benefits, from joint pain relief and skin rejuvenation to muscle recovery, inflammation reduction, and even metabolic support for weight loss. I’ve used it regularly and found noticeable improvements in overall recovery and skin tone.
Operation is refreshingly simple—one button switches the light modes, and another lets you set the timer. It’s plug-and-play, no complicated setup. The unit also comes with hanging straps, making it easy to mount on a wall or door for hands-free sessions, which is great for daily use without disrupting your routine.
If you’re serious about optimizing your health and want a device built with intention and quality, the LifePro BioHeal is a huge step forward from the DIY days of red light therapy. It’s efficient, reliable, and a worthy investment for long-term wellness. It also has a lifetime warranty and included customer support documentation indicates this company is willing to stand behind its product.

Reduces My Knee Joints Pain
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
BACKGROUND: I am an over 70-year-old with minor knee joint discomfort throughout the day, with occasional actual knee pain depending on various cardio activities. For the past 4-years I have taken over-the-counter Glucosamine with Chondroitin Supplements with some success for reducing knee discomfort. About 6-months ago, I replaced the G&C with Magnesium and have felt improvement, but still far from 100%. Researching “Red Light” and “NIR” therapies, I thought I would give the Lifepro a workout.
QUALITY: Overall, I am very impressed with the construction of the Lifepro Red Light Therapy Panel. All metal casing (verified with a magnet), physically not too small and not too large, ergo a “Goldilocks” footprint size. Long heavy-duty power cord, dual varying speed cooling fans, rear mounted lighted power switch, with an attached tilt bracket. Included is a well thought out mounting pully system to hang over a door allowing for various height adjustments. All good; no negatives encountered.
CONTROL PANEL OPTIONS: On the left-hand side, there is the control panel incorporating soft-touch tactile switches for the various settings. A power button that also toggles the impulse light feature. The mode button that will cycle through for Red + NIR (Near InFraRed) mode, Red only mode, or NIR only mode. A timer button that can extend the default 10-minutes. Two lights will designate R, NIR, or both to verity what mode you have selected. Finally, a nice sized timer display.
MANUAL: This is a device that I would not recommend using without first reading, and more importantly, understanding the capabilities and limitations of Red-Light therapy. There are also warnings when using this device, primarily eye protection required. To facilitate said eye-protection, Lifepro included two pair of safety eyeglasses.
ACTUAL USE!
1) ARM RASH: Just so happens, when clearing out weeds in our landscaping a little more than a week ago, I came in contact with some Poison Ivy that I had mistaken for Virginia Creeper. Got it on my arm, and it developed into the typical poison ivy rash. Figured I would give the LifePro a try… After using the “Skin Health” treatment (Mode-2), the rash was short lived and dissipated much quicker than I had experienced in the past.
2) KNEE PAIN: I have been using twice daily (mornings & evenings) for the past week following the “Joint and Arthritis Pain” treatment option (Mode-3). I just sit in chair, have the unit placed on an adjacent chair, aim the LED’s at my knees, and let the NIR do its thing. And I can honestly state that I have felt significant improvement. Since I have been using the Lifepro, there is no minor knee discomfort during the day, plus I have yet to experience actual “pain” after physical activity. Although at first, I was somewhat skeptical, I am currently very impressed with my treatment results. And I will continue to use this device on a regular basis for joint and possibly other ailments.
3) NEUROPATHY: My wife who sufferers from foot neuropathy has just begun using this device. And I’ll update this review if she experiences positive treatment results.
RATING: After using the Lifepro - Red Light Therapy Panel for the past week, it earned itself a solid 5-Star Rating. A quality manufactured device that actually works for my current minor ailments.

My biggest use case for this red light therapy lamp was for inflammation/joint pain in my knees, fingers and wrist. I've given it a fair shake now and I'm still not fully sold that it's doing anything. It does feel well made and maybe it just needs more time (and I'll give it more time), but for now I'm just not convinced.
Setup is simple enough. There's a booklet with a bunch of recommendations as far as distance from the light and which kind of light to use for whatever you're aiming to do. Put on the included glasses, plug the device in, flip the huge red switch on the back and then dial in your settings before pressing the go button. By default the lamp runs for 10 minutes and that is usually the recommendation given per session per area.
Options for getting the red light where it needs to go are pretty varied without a lot of extra tools. For some simple things where you can just set the lamp on a table or on the floor, there's a heavy duty kickstand (which doubles as a handle when you carry this around). But there's also wires and a whole hanging pully system included that lets you hang the lamp on a door and then adjust it's height with the pully. Or you can just hang it wherever you need it to be. A lot of options here.
The hardest thing to judge is if this thing is working. Because you really only "feel" anything if you get a little too close to the lamp and you feel the heat coming off of it. When doing my hands, the booklet recommended a 4" distance (for inflammation, that's what it recommends) so I was able to feel a tiny amount of heat, but after repeated use, I am not completely sold that my hands or knees really feel any different. They're not worse. But I can't tell if they're getting better yet. Maybe with some more time, things will start to show (and I can leave a comment on this review to update) but for now, I'm just not sure.
We're going to be working on some weight loss goals soon so we'll be able to test things out in the near future on that front. My wife will also be able to try it out for some of it's skincare benefits. I'm not overall disappointed I have it, it's just such a hard device to know is doing anything since there's no overnight success or anything.
If you're looking to jump into red light therapy and you don't have the budget for this specific one, you could look into some less expensive options to see if things work out for you. If you're already convinced and are looking for a nice at-home therapy lamp, this one might work out well for you.

Well built and effective so far

I cannot attest that the Lifepro BioHeal Red Light Therapy Panel works for all the things it claims to because I haven’t had it long enough at the time of this review. But I can say it has been providing some noticeable relief from the joint pain and inflammation in my knees in the short time I’ve been using it. This gives me hope that it will be effective in other areas, like my back pain, shoulder stiffness, and skin conditioning, once I get the chance to focus on those as well. Using it feels like getting a personal massage, but without anyone physically touching me.
The unit is very solidly built and not in cheap plastic casing as I was expecting for its price point. The panel can stand up using the attached adjustable kickstand or hang it with one of the included hanging accessories – pulley or door hook. One design flaw is where the power plug inlet is located on the back. It protrudes out past the feet so the unit can’t sit flush on the floor or against the wall or door when you hang it. The infrared light is bright so I highly recommend using the included goggles. It comes with 2 pair by the way. And big kudos to Lifepro for the well-written and thoughtfully thorough instruction booklet.

I recently began using the LifePro BioHeal panel, and while it's too soon to report long-term effects, the experience so far has been encouraging. The setup was quick, and the device feels well-built and thoughtfully engineered for home use.
One of the standout features is its versatility. The panel includes a sturdy kickstand for tabletop use and an adjustable hanging cable that makes mounting it on a door simple and secure—ideal for hands-free sessions wherever I need them. Its construction is solid and stable, with a robust build quality that inspires confidence it will hold up well over time.
I also appreciate the built-in timer, which allows me to customize sessions from 1 to 30 minutes. The red and near-infrared light settings create a relaxing environment, and the panel operates quietly—making it easy to incorporate into a daily routine without distraction.
There’s a bit of experimentation involved in finding the best setup and coverage, but the flexibility of placement helps with that. Although I haven’t used it long enough to see results, I’m optimistic about its potential to ease joint discomfort, aid in muscle recovery, and improve skin tone with consistent use.
And with a lifetime guarantee backing it, the panel feels like a long-term investment in wellness. So far, it’s proven to be a reliable and promising addition to my self-care toolkit.

Multiple benefits from Red Light, who knew?

I wasn't sure about red light therapy other than seeing it advertised at spas and wellness centers, so I was skeptical, but I did some digging and came across some legitimate research papers that summarized potential benefits in multiple ways and concluding more research should be done.
Not knowing what to expect, I gave the Lifepro Bioheal red light panel a try and so far, I'm enjoying this way more than I think I should!
So what does it feel like? Its not hot or heat, but right away, you will feel the lights radiating within your skin to a warming or soothing sensation. It is hard to describe, its not direct heat its almost like when you sit near a tinted glass on a really sunny day but the glass isn't hot, yet you feel the sunlight reaching you.
Staring directly at the light isn't advised and they provide tinted green glasses for facial treatments, but you can look at the light indirectly without any problems.
The build quality and design of the Bioheal is well-made, albeit a bit bulky, but its not loud, there's a small fan that spins when you power it on and the body of the unit is metal similar to a computer case or maybe a heater. This makes it substantial in weight, but not heavy.
The kickstand on the back is fantastic, this lets you set the panel up on the ground to treat your legs/calfs/feet and on a table to treat your face, which is primarily what I am using this for. It also has feet on the back and hanging hardware in case you want to hang it vertically from a door, or lay it flat on the ground.
Almost forgot to mention, red light therapy works best on bare skin, which is a small negative since you have to kind of plan in advance if you want to get some body parts. They also recommend no more than 10 minutes at a time 2x a day for each body area, and to test skins sensitivity in one spot before doing too many areas in one sitting. I've been thoroughly enjoying 10 minute treatments on my legs for soreness and an old calf knot that feels much better than just using percussion and massage, and it also feels great on my face to help ease wrinkles and improve bloodflow.
A few things I wish they improved upon with this design. There's a power/start button but it is on the side of the panel and the 3rd of 3 buttons, so it is kind of hard to see and toggle without looking at the unit. I would've liked to see this button be a little more conspicuous on its own at the top of the unit or something to make it more hands-free friendly.
While the kickstand is great as I mentioned, I would've loved to see a handle on the top of the unit to move around a bit easier. As mentioned it is substantial in size and weight but this would've made it easier to port around.
Also, the cable itself is just a 120v computer plug, which again gives it a PC appliance type of feel. This makes the cable super extra thick but the nice thing is, you can just keep a few extra PC plugs around the house if you have them to avoid having to unplug from the wall, you can just plug it into the back of the unit.
Also, when setting the timer, you have to press 20x to go from 10m to 30 minutes which is the max.
Finally, this device would've benefitted tremendously from an app-connected function where you could set and start it from your phone, change the pulse function or light type (Red vs Near IR), and also time duration.
I think this is a great introduction to red light therapy and something I will use frequently to gently and uninvasively help treat injuries and reverse tissue and muscle damage.

Lifepro - Red Light Therapy Panel

I was very curious to try the Lifepro - Red Light Therapy Panel. Until this product, I was not familiar with Infrared light therapy. After reading the included directions and doing some additional research on the therapy method, I started off by doing a 6 minute skin test on my right forearm. I gave it the instructed waiting period to ensure I had no skin reactions. I noticed directly after this test, my skin felt sticky and rubbery, but otherwise no signs of problems. Symptoms didn't change during the waiting period so I was cleared to continue.
Diving into my first session. My targeted area was upper back area, focusing on muscular pain either after a workout, sleeping, or other movements that tend to cause me problems in that area. Trapezius, Thoraco-lumbar Fascia, Rhomboid, Latissimus Doris were all area of focus. The easiest way to treat these were to hand the LifePro on a door. I mounted the included door hanger, connected the pulley system, plugged in the device and adjusted the pully to bring the LifePro up to the muscles I mentioned above. Treatment for muscular was recommended to just use the red light and for a period of 10 minutes. I set the red light and 10 minute timer. After the treatment, I felt a little tingly, though I could not tell if this was a placebo effect or if I actually felt something. I gave it a 24 hour waiting period to ensure no ill side effects. Everything felt ok. I proceeded to run this therapy for another 5 days straight, 2 of those days were after workouts and 3 of those days were not.
The end result I believe is too early to tell. While I do feel like there is some improvement to my post workout, next day pain, the results were fairly minimal up until this point. I believe the intention behind this product is over time, and with continued use, larger improvements will be seen. Time will have to tell if longe term gains will be experienced.
Overall, the LifePro is easy to setup, though I do have to say, the door hanging method resulted in a very, very messy application and one that I would never leave long term. I think it looked absolutely horrible, wires/cables all over the place. I chose to take the LifePro off the door when not in use. However, hanging was easy to take on and off, and it did provide a good location for the therapy. I think door hanging is the way to go for many use cases, and I would not suggest this changes. I just wanted to clarify it's ugly, and most people will want to either hide this in a closet door, or somewhere in a basement if being left hung all the time. The Lifepro also easily can prop on a table top, and avoids all of the pulley cables and mess. Instructions are clear and details, and this is a pretty simply product to use. The jury is still out on overall effectiveness, but I do appear to have experiences positive results in the time I've had with it thus far. I don't see any reason to believe this isn't an effective treatment option, but mileage may vary greatly between users given the chance for skin irritation or more chronic/serious problems beyond what this type of therapy can do. I'd recommend others, if interested, to try this out for themselves and draw their own conclusions.

Red light therapy for wellness and recovery

Easily one of the most trending products in today’s health and wellness industry is the ever-expanding options for at-home red light therapy. I jumped on this bandwagon a few years ago starting with what limited options we had at the time which was a simple flashlight. Over the past year or two I have expanded my inventory with a face mask and the latest addition, the new LifePro Bioheal red light panel in an attempt to treat my entire body for pain relief, skin rejuvenation, and muscle recovery.
Considering the box that the Bioheal panel is packaged in does not give many product specifics and did not come with a user manual even though the box said it did, I had to do a little digging myself to find out more details and how to use it correctly. The panel itself is relatively light and easy to place and store almost anywhere. The package includes hanging screws, hanging cables, two protective eyeglasses, a hanging pulley, a door hook and a 9-foot power cable. We decided to set it up for use in our formal entry room since it is so nonchalant and wouldn’t stand out. Set up was very simple using the power cord and use is pretty much self-explanatory with no reliance on instructions using simple to understand buttons for power, red and near-infrared light and a timer.
This light panel contains 60 lights which can combine wavelengths of 660nm (red) and 850nm (near-infrared) LEDs, targeting both surface and deeper tissues. The red wavelength is used for its effects on skin health, collagen production, and inflammation, while the near-infrared can penetrate to treat muscle and joint tissue for relief from soreness and stiffness. During or after use, you can expect to feel a sense of warmness which can be strange initially considering the panel and lights remain cool thanks to effective heat dissipation and the fans located on the back of the panel. Over days of use, I have personally noticed reduced muscle soreness and less recovery times between workouts. I have recently started using it on my back since I have suffered from back pain and stiffness for over a decade and hope that eventually I will start to notice a difference there as well. Since I was already using red light therapy on my face using a different device, I noticed brighter and more even skin tone and hope that with enough use the Bioheal panel will also do the same for the rest of my aging body.
The LifePro Bioheal Red Light Panel is a convenient red light therapy option for at-home or office use thanks to its compact size, versatility, and ease of use. Obviously, like all things therapy and wellness related, results WILL vary depending on regular, consistent use and recommend doing your homework to find out what might work best with your specific needs as this is not a cure-all device but another tool for better health and wellness.

Lifepro BIOHEAL: Bask in The Glow!

I love to work out and take care of myself. I’m in the gym 3 -5 times a week, which is great, but as the age creeps in…so do the aches and pains of joints. I've also noticed the stubborn belly fat and all the other things that go with growing into a mature person, and that’s fine (I guess)…
BUT I am not losing my gains to age without a fight! That’s why I really love the Red Light Therapy Panel.
I got into red light therapy with compression boots that had that incorporated into it. I had compression boots before without red light, but the added red light really made a noticeable difference in my legs and feet and knees. So when I saw the panel….I had to add it to my arsenal to combat all the wear and tear on my body!
Got the panel and out of the box you can immediately tell the quality in craftsmanship and components. It comes with all the mounting gear, manual and two pairs of green glasses to protect the eyes. The glasses are the only thing that feels kind of cheap. I probably wont use them very often as I will just keep my eyes closed and soak in the healing and energetic red light.
Got it set up in my home gym and turned the lights out, and turned it on. Boom…my room was filled with the red light (see pics). I like doing it in the morning, just after I wake up to start the day out right. There is a lot of information out there on the benefits of red light therapy, and I am guessing if you are looking at this product, you already know this….But what I can absolutely tell you is MY BODY RESPONDS TO THIS, and I can absolutely feel the benefits. It’s amazing… but I also have to temper it with it is not a golden bullet that fixes the years of wear and tear permanently. The benefits are noticeable to me but they are somewhat temporary as the day goes on. The red light therapy is something I have to do regularly and pair it with regular recovery days ect. It is a boost and multiplier that is noticeable and well worth the investment.
The benefits I have noticed are less joint pain in my knees, elbows and hands. I also have early arthritis in my knuckles and the Bioheal red light really relieves the knuckle joint pain. I have also noticed improved mood. The glowing red light and slight warmth of the infrared light really feed my mood. I feel energetic and a positive boost to my mood. I really feel like I am at the spa when I am doing the treatment. I like the 15-minute setting. I have a hard time with meditation in general, but with the red light, I can actually meditate because I feel like I am basking in the sun and it keeps my mind focused on the slight warmth and glow of the red light. It’s centering.
Lifepro recommends using the light for 15 to 20 minutes and they have free videos on their webpage that are helpful. I also like that it has a lifetime warranty if you register within 7 days.
Overall, I am a believer in the red light therapy because I have personally experienced the benefits. Maybe it’s part placebo effect and part science…maybe all science…in any event who really cares if it works….and for me it definitely works. We only get one life (that we know of), and so train hard, recover smart, and try to use all the biological cheat codes you can find along the way! Lifepro Bioheal is an awesome way to do just that!!! I would highly recommend!

I am a little familiar with infrared light therapy since a little over two years ago I injured my right shoulder and lower back, in the recovery process I was given this type of therapy, little by little I was recovering and also taking physical therapy. The issue is that the sessions were a couple of times a week and then the process became long. Therefore I consider that having an infrared therapy device at home is a great help whether you need to treat some kind of muscle pain or if you want to improve your skincare.
In the box comes the infrared light device, a pair of protective eyeglasses, a pulley to place the device on some door along with a bracket and a hook to hang the light from the pulley. The installation is simple, it can be placed on a flat surface with the kickstand that has the same device or with the pulley placed on a door, this depends on the area of the body to be treated.
In terms of performance the product fulfills its function, it is easy to use and easy to configure, it has buttons that are easy to identify. To determine if the results of use are positive it requires several daily sessions in the same areas as it is a matter of time, in my case in a couple of weeks I have felt a relief similar to what I felt in the therapies I received when I was injured, although my shoulder was not one hundred percent, therapy helps me a lot. In terms of skin care I have used other products of smaller size and in the long term the result is notorious, with this product I have gradually felt an improvement although I repeat it is a matter of time.
In summary, I consider this a versatile product and of great help for the recovery of muscle pain as well as for skin care and circulation. It has what you need to use it at home without any problem for short periods of time and on an ongoing basis. If you need red/infrared light therapy at home, I can definitely recommend it.

Red Light Therapy at the comfort of your own home

The lifepro BioHeal has an excellent build quality. Has a very sizeable heft to it due to it’s all metal construction. Comes with everything you need to get started. 2 pairs of protective eyewear, door bracket, door bracket pulley and built in kick stand. The power cable is generous in length.
Intuitive buttons on the side with a master power switch on the back. The timer can do 1-minute increments from 1 to 30-minute sessions. Turning it on will default to 10 minutes and will take numerous button presses to get to the time you want. A dial would have made this process easier. There are three modes, Red Light only, Near-Infrared-Light, and the combination of the two. This unit also has a bonus “pulsing mode” that many models do not have.
What makes this panel a great value is the lifetime warranty and all the essential hardware needed for targeting different parts of your body. I’ve been using the provided door hook with pulley to target my back.
The included manual comes with a few treatment options or suggestions to get your started with mode settings and time durations. This panel can help treat skin health (wrinkles, acne and wounds), Joint/Arthritis pain, Weight loss, Muscle recovery, Circadian rhythm, Brain Health, Testosterone, and Thyroid function. They claim you should see results in as little as 3 weeks with daily uses and I believe it.
In summary, I do recommend lifepro’s BioHeal red light panel to any athelete or health-conscious folks. The ability to target certain body parts is key. The size is just large enough to cover large portions of your body but compact enough to transport. A few things that would make this perfect would be an audible beep when the timer is done and to include a carrying or storage bag.

Red Light Therapy for Home Use

The Biolheal red light therapy panel is a great concept, but it lacks proper design for the most effective and easy usage. The Bioheal red light therapy panel offers several applications to help with alleviating pain, reducing inflamation, rejuvinating skin, and losing fat. It comes with a very informative user manual that is well written and provides the information you need to use the panel for many different treatments. This panel has three different modes that include: Red+ Near-Infared which combines red light and near-infrared light. This setting is used for weight loss and muscle recovery. The second mode is just red light. It is used for skin health (wrinkles, acne, wounds) and Sleep and Circadian rhythm. The third mode is Near-Infrared light and it is used for joint and arthritus pain, brain health and cognitive function, boost testosterone and thyroid function. These treatment options are explained in the user manual with treatment times, how many sessions per week, target areas, and how far the panel should be from the treatment area. I have only been testing this unit for five days - so I can't say if it is making a difference yet in the areas I trying to treat.
What I struggle with this unit is how to easily access my treatment areas. It comes with a tilt arm to place on a floor or table and then it also comes with a door hook to hang it from a door - or a pulley system that you hang from the door hook. You can use the tilt arm to place on a table to do treatment areas on your face or thyroid pretty easily. Where it gets difficult is trying to access other areas of your body like your back, stomach, knees, etc. The door hook is way too high for me to use it by itself. I can't access any treatment areas if I hang it on the door hook - it is just too high. I decided to install the pulley system - which was very easy to install. The downfall is that the panel doesn't lay flat against the door and it sometimes tilts to the left or right. Additionally, you have to have a plug close to the door where you are going to use the unit. My biggest complaint is that there isn't anything to wrap the power cable up with. So I have this unit hanging from my door with a long power cable that I try to wrap up and stick in the unit so I don't trip over it as I walk in and out of the room of the door for which I have the panel hanging.
I will continue to use this unit and I hope to see results from the red light therapy. I just wish it was a little easier to position for treatments.

I have used the LifePro BioHeal Red Light Panel on my lower leg for approximately one week to reduce inflammation associated with my athletic activities, and I have found the results to be highly satisfactory. I dedicate 30 minutes each day to this therapy, positioning the panel at the recommended distance, initiating the timer, and allowing it to function as intended. I have already noted a significant decrease in both soreness and stiffness. The incorporation of this therapy into my routine has been seamless; the setup was straightforward, the instructions were clear, and it was functional within minutes.
What really impresses me is how deeply the red and near-infrared wavelengths penetrate to boost cellular repair. I can feel my muscles recovering more quickly after intense workouts, and any joint discomfort I had has markedly diminished. Beyond recovery, the panel’s skin-health benefits have not gone unnoticed my skin looks healthier and more radiant after each session. My inflammation has reduced significantly. This device delivers powerful results that I can feel.
Portability is another game-changer. The BioHeal panel is surprisingly lightweight and compact, with multiple hanging options that allow me to position it perfectly anywhere I need it.

The previous product that my wife tried for red-light and NIR therapy was the Shark mask. It was a well-built product it just was not what she was looking for - she wanted a panel that let HER control the light type and output that she could use all over her body (the mask products are limited to your face and have preset routines varying the types of lights). So in that sense the Lifepro is exactly what she was looking for (she was asking me to get the LUMEBOX, so this satisfied her tastes).
The build quality is excellent. It is very-well built. Has fans on the back to keep it cool. Nice PC-style standard plug - so, should you ever damage the cable you can easily replace it, no proprietary plug. The stand is a nice touch and also manufactured well. As an aside, I caught my 2 year old (25 lb) kid standing on the product on day for a few seconds. Suffice it to say nothing happen, no damage. So yeah, really well built.
The light output is really strong. Can't complain here.
The controls are exactly what you need. Just basic. No app, no internet connected. It is a disconnected "dumb" device, which is exactly how it should be.
Now, as to whether it works? I have more confidence in this product achieving observable changes than the Shark mask, but I personally am not sold on red-light therapy doing anything meaningful. My wife (the user of this product) thinks it is helping her...as to how? I can't say. All I can say is that if you are looking for "A" red-light box that you've seen on all of social media, this one will meet your expectations 100%. No need to go fancy brand with something like LUMEBOX.

So, I’ve never used a red light device before but I always wanted to try one out. This unit is really nice but is a bit bigger than I expected. Its both a pro and a con. It means it is a bit harder to maneuver and line up with your body because you can’t just place it anywhere or just hold it very easily. On the other hand if you want it to try and cover a larger area it does a way better job.
It does warn you that if you’ve never done one before that you should test it out on the inside of your arm first to see if you have a reaction. I’m guessing that’s a place that doesn’t get much light from anything so will show a reaction easier, but is also in a less sensitive spot in case there is a reaction. I didn’t have any reaction so I know I’m good to keep using it, but I also don’t really know what a bad reaction would look like.
I tried it mostly on my knees as I have a bit of knee pain to see if it would help. The manual has a set of recommendations based on what you are using it for on how long to use it and how far from your body the light should be. I’ve used it for a while now and I haven’t actually noticed any difference. I’m not sure if its a matter of red light treatments not being effective, I haven’t used it long enough or if maybe I don’t respond well to it.
I’m going to keep using it for a while to see how it works, but this is the kind of thing that typically doesn’t have an immediate reaction so it may be a while (a number of weeks) before I know for sure if it works or not.

Counting on the weight loss treatment

I’ve been seeing the same Chiropractor for the last twenty years because I have two bad habits for the spine: I’m always hunched over computers all day and I run for fun. I do not suffer from chronic pain, but I find my monthly full body adjustments improve all aspects of how I feel. My chiropractor introduced red light therapy into his practice several years back as a method to target parts of the body that don’t do well to what I would describe as cracking and popping; areas like kneecaps, inner bones of the shin. Last year I started using a massage gun on a daily basis that includes infrared LED therapy. I’m not convinced if this whole LED/laser/redlight thing is a gimmick or pseudo-science or wishful thinking or if there is an actual medical benefit to it. In my case the use of red light is tied to other tangible treatments; in other words I can feel how amazing the massage gun is when it’s percussing my sore muscles, or after my chiropractor adjusts my neck I feel the muscles relax and the tension is gone, so I don’t know if the red light is doing anything good or bad in the equation, it’s just there. The Bioheal is the first device I’ve tried that is exclusively using only red light. I’m curious if I’ll notice anything different.
On page 16 of the 27 pages of the instructions that come with this device include twelve groups of people who should not be using this device. I feel like that information really should be on the outside of the product packaging so you know BEFORE you buy the device if you are not supposed to be using it. Pregnant? Don’t use. Breast implants? Tattoos? It’s not exactly clear if you should simply not treat those parts of your body or if you should not use at all offering only “consult your physician before using” followed in the Disclaimer section that this is not a medical device and there’s no certified or regulatory authority or medical institute that can back up the health benefits that are described as the result of using this product.
Page 14 lists some treatment guidelines and this is where things felt a little weird to me. Most of the treatment involves placing the part of your body you want treated 4 inches from the device and staying in that position for 10-15 minutes, repeating this daily at 6-hour intervals several times a week. Oh and you need to be naked: the treatment doesn’t work if the skin is not exposed. I mean you don’t need to be fully naked to treat your hands for arthritis pain but one of the treatments is to boost testosterone so you know… naked. Personally I was most interested in weight loss. To achieve the proper placement of the device for these 10 minute sessions the Bioheal comes with a hanging pulley system and a door hook. This pulley system and hook are easy to connect but the unit kind of hangs awkwardly on the door mainly because of the weight imbalance caused by where the power cord is connected to the unit. I feel like if they power cord were relocated to the side of the unit it would allow for a more stable hanging position. You also need access to power to plug the unit in. If you have ever put your children in timeout where you make them stand in the corner of a room facing the wall than you can visualize how you use this product, except that you are naked. My advice is to over communicate with anyone living with you that you need some private time before using this device or you can be like me and have your unsuspecting wife walk into the bathroom while your pants are around your ankles. Fun times.
I have not had the device long enough to know if it’s doing anything other than consuming 10 minutes of my day but I do find a great deal of humor standing in the bathroom naked with sunglasses on for each session. I’ve decided my primary use case is to try and get rid of about 10 pounds of belly fat that just won’t go away. But if putting myself in timeout is going to get rid of this belly fat, than I’m all in.

Right out of the gates I was extremely skeptical , but being someone who is never afraid to try something new, I gave the Lifepro Red Light Therapy panel a shot. Who knows, maybe I'd benefit from it?
My wife and I both are starting to get up there in the years, both suffering from varies aches/pains, both due to life experiences and due to "self inflicted" workouts. We both have issues with different areas of legs so we tested there. Mine's the knees, hers is the upper thigh.
We both had similar experiences - it was a deep warmth. Very similar to being on the opposite side of a dark tinted window that the sun is beaming directly through. You can feel the warmth but not enough to burn or cause discomfort.
We look forward to working with this further - the feeling is hard to describe but it's so soothing and relaxing.
I must say that the customer service from this company is amazing. The first unit that was shipped to me had a very bad dent in the package and upon opening found it damaged beyond repair. I sent photos of the unopened box showing the damage as well as the damaged unit that was removed from the box - the company promptly shipping me a replacement unit.
I must say that I was impressed with the power of red light - I never would have thought it would work as well as it does. We look forward to using it much much more in the near future!

The Bioheal Red light Therapy Panel arrived well packaged and everything needed to set it up and use it was present. The manual is about 24 pages and covers how to install the hanging devices, the suggested usage frequency, and some conditions for which the device may be used. Eye wear is included and I close my lids as well.
In my case, I didn’t want to make a permanent mount so I used the door hanger and included cabling. The electrical/power cord is about 9 feet long and so I was able to find a door near an outlet easily. From there, the controls straight forward – just three buttons and the feedback is through a display and two status LEDs.
I used the unit twice a day for 5 – 10 minutes at a time for the past fourteen days and while I don’t have lab evidence that it is ‘doing it’s job’ I seem to feel better and the specific reasons I use it for seem to be improving. Setting the angle and maintaining the suggested distances required for the various therapy uses took a bit of planning, but after a few days it was already a habit. Storage is simple, especially with the door hanger and setup it a matter of a minute or two.
Time will tell, but I am satisfied with the product, ease of use and the results I feel that I have achieved in the past few weeks.
