I like everything except that the storage is just too small to fit my phone with a case inside. If it fit...5 star review.

Pros:
Waterproof/water resistant and floats
Loud sound
Simple to use
Works as a speakerphone
Good battery life
Cons:
Drybox compartment too small to really be useful
Not much bass level sound
No features like voice battery level, caller ID
Overall, I'd recommend this speaker for it's waterproof / floating ability but outside of that there are a few things that I think should be considered based on what your needs are. First, the waterproof compartment on this model does not fit phones and isn't very deep for much of anything in reality. Because its kind of small and the charge port for charging a device is in that compartment - I don't know how you'd use that (i.e. to charge a phone) and have it be protected in the compartment which then defeats the point of the speaker being waterproof. So, outside of that I don't know what I'd use the compartment for outside of a small MP3 Player like an iPod Nano and maybe credit cards/cash and a key or two. There are a lack of features like voice announcement for battery level or caller ID. The sound quality is good and didn't distort in the testing I did with various types of music but it also does not have much bass sound in comparison to like similarly sized Bluetooth speakers I have so, I was a bit disappointed in the overall sound quality. Between those two things that's my reasoning for 3 stars.
In all, I'd recommend it to someone if they need a Bluetooth speaker to use at the pool or around water like on a boat but outside of that I'd say this speaker good but average with average features.

The Aquaphonics AQ10 came in minimal packaging the box was sleek.
Waterproof dirt proof snow proof and drop proof to a measured extent. Don’t go leaving it in a snow mound all winter.
The speaker itself is a light grey with the speaker grip a sliver color and the sides where the power button and ports is a lime green. I like the design of the speaker and it’s easy to spot due to the coloring.
It was a little difficult to turn on due to the lock switch being super sung. I would suggest using something in order to slide it back and forth. Once turned on it was super simple to pair, the iPhone found the device quickly. The Bluetooth paring button is on top of the device next to the play volume and next track.
The sound was a bit of a disappointment. It’s not bad and not great I would say its ok. The sound is not full; it is a bit on the high side just a little shallow in sound. I expected a little bit of a better sound, the volume goes up high enough but not super loud. I do believe it will serve its purpose, but definitely not for an audiophile.
The box says its durable. By the looks you can tell it was built to be tough. The speaker feels like a hard thick plastic. I haven’t beaten it up enough but do see where some scratches and nicks or digs. I would have liked to have seen some thick rubber type material on the curved edges / sides of it. The edges plastic is kind of easy to bend with your hands. Time will tell.
There is a dry container on the bottom of the box I would not suggest putting a phone in there, keys, or cards should be ok.
I would recommend this for going out on a boat, swimming or outdoors. But wouldn’t recommend throwing it around and beating it up if you care about scratches and dings. If not you should be good. It’s a great design.

The LifeProof AQ10 is very compact, portable, and waterproof! It even floats if you have it on the water with you and it happens to fall in! The dry storage on the bottom is the only real negative part about it, far too small to put any current smartphones in it to charge and play but perfect size for a credit/debit card and an ID. The sound quality is good, especially for the size of it, could be a touch louder but more than sufficient for medium size group to hear perfectly okay. The controls are large and easy to use, complete with a lock switch to prevent something being bumped. The unit also has two USB ports and auxiliary to charge and listen to your device off the unit itself. The battery last for over a week of sporadic use and a solid day of heavy use. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a Bluetooth speaker that is small enough to pack in a small bag but loud enough to for everyone to hear!

The Lifeproof AQ10 is a quality speaker. I have purchased a few different speakers that have Bluetooth capabilities, and they were Harman Kardon and Bose. When you buy something from those companies, you are going to spend some money, but you are also going to expect a good looking product rich with features and superior sound. The AQ10 is on par with those companies and their products.
Out of the box, the AQ10 feels rugged and has a little bit of a texture to it. Sort of like a spray on bed liner on a pickup, but not as abrasive and definitely more attractive. It has some weight to it, but it is very solid as well. I have accidentally dropped it on a carpeted surface, and once on linoleum, but nothing happened to it at all. I am very careful with things, but it is nice to know it will take a licking if an accident occurs.
As far as the water resistance, I have not tested that to its full ability yet. When something costs $199, you tend to air on the side of caution a little bit. I did try splashing it, but half-heartedly to be honest. But, this past Mother’s Day weekend, I did have it outside playing for hours in the humidity and it never had an issue. I also have used it in the bathroom numerous times without an issue while I showered or while giving the kid a bath. The humidity did not affect anything then either. It is supposed to float, but I have not tried that. Also, I have not tried submerging it under water, but it says it is supposed to work under water as well. The water-proof pocket is a cool idea, but it does not hold a lot. The larger model if this speaker will hold a cellphone they say, but this one hold a lot less. I could see putting an iPod Nano in there to make it a self-contained boom box, that or some case or some credit cards.
The Bluetooth connectivity is flawless. The speaker responds to the button presses instantly and it feels very precise and durable. It is very responsive. The other cool thing is that you can use this thing as a speaker phone for your cellphone! Most on the market will do that now, if you buy something high end. The speaker picks up my voice very clearly, and the person on the other side hears me well. That is one of my favorite features.
The battery life claims to be 13 hours, and I can say I have not come close to that mark yet. I currently have it at about 10 hours of use, and I have not recharged it yet. I am sure it will reach close to the 13 hour mark, and being at 10 is more than enough for me for sure. The battery will last longer than you will, that is for sure.
Finally, the most important part of any speaker is the quality of the sound. This hits the mark, and I would place it right now to any high end speaker on the market. The highs are super crisp, and the bass is something you can actually feel. The mids are very clear as well, so this speaker truly does work flawlessly at all levels. I am not exaggerating; it really does what they say it will and more. If I was going to buy this just for a speaker, it would be worth the price paid for it regardless of it having any of the other features. If you turn the speaker all the way up, you don’t get distortion which is impressive in itself. I really am happy with the sound, and it beats the pants off my Harman Kardon speaker that was a little more expensive. I think this is a great outside or pool side option for someone that has a need or want for that. I would recommend it to anyone that wants a strong, quality and versatile speaker.

Quality Portable Outdoor Audio Problem Solved!
|

The LifeProof Aquaphonics AQ-10 Bluetooth speaker is a game changer for your outdoor portable outdoor audio needs. As someone who can’t wait for spring/summer to arrive because of all the great things you can do outside, I was thrilled to know that there is finally a speaker than can go virtually anywhere without great risk of being destroyed by dirt, sand, water, or an occasional drop. LifeProof, owned by the company that brought you the OtterBox for your phone, has designed a great solution to those of us who love to take our sound with us wherever we go.
First, let’s address the sound since this is a speaker. While this speaker falls short of the clarity and defining sound of a similarly priced Bose or Beats portable Bluetooth speaker, it doesn’t fall that far short. If you’re looking extremely deep bass, look elsewhere. However, the speaker does put out enough sound that it will fill an entire room(s)/and a respectable outdoor space like a patio area, pool, beach setup, or on your boat.
The AQ-10’s build is very high quality and I love the material that covers the outside. It feels durable and isn’t too slippery when wet. The speaker will float when in water, continue to provide clear sound when in the rain (or shower), and if it gets dirty/sandy while you’re at the beach, just spray it off or dunk it in water to clean it off. I love the beach, I’ve always had to take great care when I brought my Bose Mini II because it is not outdoor friendly. For this reason, it gets wrapped in a ziplock bag which inevitably reduces the sound quality. The AQ-10 has no need for that AND even provides protection for smaller items (keys, cash, credit card, smaller cell phone ((iphone 5 for example)), etc) in the dry box built into the speaker. It’s not big enough for most of our super sized phones these days, but it’s nice to have a central spot to keep your miscellaneous items. The buttons on the AQ-10 are large, simple, and lighted for those days that last into the night. I appreciate this as some speakers are not as easy to operate. Speaking of lasting into the night, the AQ-10’s battery is rated to last 13 hours. Surprisingly, the AQ-10 achieved this! This means you can go to the beach at noon and still have music after midnight! I must say, this is a very big plus since no one wants their party to go silent in the middle of the fun.
As if these features weren’t enough, the LifeProof Aquaphonics AQ-10 provides a USB charger for your other electronic devices, an outside lighted charge indicator for the speaker, can be used as a handsfree speaker when connected to your phone, and a switch that locks all of the buttons for those times when your speaker may playing from a backpack or being handled a lot!
In summary, the AQ-10 packs a LOT of a features into a stylish, durable, and quality package at a pretty impressive price. If you’re looking primarily for high end sound that won’t leave the protection of your house/office, go with another speaker. However, if you want an all-around versatile option that can go from the office, to the shower, to the beach, go with the AQ-10. You won’t be disappointed.
Pros:
-Features, Features, Features
-Durability (waterproof, dust/dirt/sand proof, drop resistant)
-Battery Life
-Build Quality
-Price for all of the features you get
-Ease of operation
Cons:
-Sound quality is GOOD, but not great.

Nowadays the packaging and unboxing experience is a part that manufacturers need to pay attention to as well as making a great product. Attention to those details to me shows that other details are not missed on product quality. The packaging on this speaker doesn't disappoint and is well thought out, high quality and easy to open.
Now to the speaker itself, it pairs very easily with any Bluetooth device and you are ready to go.
Sound quality is what you would expect from a speaker this size, not boomy bass but just enough. And you can drop it, wet it, use it at the beach (uh it floats!) take a conference call or other phone calls with it AND there is an area in the bottom that seals from the elements to put your money, credit cards keys etc in while you at the beach or pool.
And you can use it for almost 13 hours...or use it to charge your phone and you may get less time but you have the Peace of Mind knowing you have a battery back up for your phone.
Overall it's what you need to have musical fun in the summer (and other times of the year too).

Cool yet tough functional styling with respectable portable sound quality providing clean strong highs, mids and bass. It floats (waterproof and submersible to 3.3 ft. and has a waterproof dry-box (2” x 4.75” x .25”) for keys etc. plus it is drop-proof to about 4 ft. making it a superb outdoor speaker. The AQ10 is easily portable coming in with a weight under one and three-quarter pounds. Delivering up to 13 hours of battery life, it is great for outdoor events. Having dual front facing drivers and passive radiators it is able to reach 94 decibels (dB) with no discernable distortion while playing a high-quality track. A built-in microphone is provided for mobile-phone speakerphone capability. The AQ10 can also be used to charge a phone or use a patch cord for a physical connection to another audio source. Coming with Bluetooth 4.2 it is power efficient, pairs with up to 8 devices and reliably provides a consistent stream of audio. All of the controls are easy to use. The speaker shape has handles that are handy and a square x rectangular shape that will prevent it from rolling or sliding under most circumstances. Make sure you close the port and lid hatch covers before exposure to the elements. I would like to have USB charging available although I believe the 12-volt power source allows for faster charging.

This is a really nice Bluetooth speaker. The sound is fairly loud and the battery life is very good.
The LifeProof aq10 feels sturdy. I have no doubt that this thing will be able to take a beating, it feels solid.
If you're looking for a Bluetooth speaker to take camping or to the beach or even just around the pool, this is the one for you.
The only thing I didn't like about this speaker is the storage compartment. I'm not really sure what you could put in it. It is extremely small. I couldn't even fit my old iPhone 4 in the compartment. If somehow you do have a phone smaller than that, there is a USB port for charging in the compartment which would be very nice, since it is essentially a dry well and would keep your phone safe around water and dust.
All in all, this is a great Bluetooth speaker and if you're willing to pay the cash for it, you won't be disappointed.

For what it's intended, this aquaphonics speaker works. Whether in the shower, rain, pool or other water facilities, this rugged speaker will work well. It is made to last in those environments. The sound quality is average, with some bass and descent treble output. It doesn't have amazing sound but I guess a water resistant speaker has to give somewhere. A nice feature is that it'll charge your USB devices. The small compartment under allows you to store small stuff like bills or important papers, maybe even a very small and thin phone. The speaker is light and can get loud which is perfect for outdoors. Overall, a nice speaker that will resist water and can even fall in a pool without getting damages. Don't expect too notch base and sound, but you may be pleasantly surprised.
