Detached screen to face plate

I also assumed "lifeproof" and therefore I didn't need to read more in detail. For the front part of the cover, the screen cover is not attached to it. Meaning, you have to install the front cover (clear screen) on first, then you can put on the front and back cases. SPECK has a case that isn't listed as "lifeproof" but at lease the screen protector itself was connected already to the front facing plate. How is it lifeproof if those two aren't connected? Couldn't water still seep in through that crack between the screen and the front plate? At least the front and back plates snaps in place...Or, this could just be my preference for a "lifeproof" case.
