Customers praise the LIFX Mini Color A19 for its vivid colors, ease of use, and straightforward setup. The app is also frequently cited as a positive aspect, and many appreciate its compatibility with other smart home devices. However, some users mention connectivity challenges and note that the product is on the expensive side. While a hub is not required, this is not a universally highlighted feature.

I read some of the reviews prior to purchasing and I have no idea why it was so hard for some to get the light working. My experience was far from difficult. All I did was install the app, screw in the light, turn on the switch. Once the app found the light it did it's thing and has worked flawlessly since installing with 2 other A19 multicolor led lights thrown in the mix. The LIFX bulbs are great for the price and what they do. By far they are brighter than the competitors.

The LIFX is by far the best smart bulb I have used. Easy to install, easy intergration to HomeKit, don’t have to deal with any external hubs and significantly brighter colors then the Phillips Hue

I bought these as a comparison to the Philips Hue brands. Overall these are brighter and have comparable color renditions. The app is easy to use. I like the size and especially the shape of these relative to the Hue bulbs. My only real gripe is that they are buggy - sometimes they don't change color when used with Alexa, sometimes they are slow to all change immediately. I never have that problem with the Hue bulbs. I had one bulb of the pack die on me, thought LIFX replaced it immediately.

Ok, so an honest review. This light is actually surprising, but it should be for $35.
I'll start out with my only complaint, but I'm not going to ding the score since this is also a personal pet peeve and not an actual problem. The bulb does require you to download the app, create an account and register everything. I personally hate creating new accounts online for every single product I buy. It's just another source for hackers to get your information. Fortunately, it doesn't require you to verify your account information so you can use an address like "support @ lifx.com" to negate this risk.
To the good. This bulb is packed with all the normal features you see on multicolor smart bulbs. Scenes, color selection, whites, dimmer, schedules, etc. The app seems intuitive to me. My 10 year old can manage the bulb through the app without issue. This bulb does not require a hub, but appears to work with nearly everything. Google, Alexa, Apple, Samsung SmartThings, etc. Third party apps like Chromania and LightDJ can even be used to set a nice rave party that reacts to music in the room. Definitely a neat little piece of technology for the room.

I own many Lifx products and all perform well over expectation. This bulb is exceptional with ability to change colors, turn on and off, dim, set timers and interoperability with IoT devices without the use of a hub. The Lifx app is constantly being updated fine tuning product capabilities.
Great product. Cant wait to add more.

The bulbs are just a bit smaller than an old style light bulb. I liked the bulbs, particularly the ability to change the color of the white light and to dim the lights either together or independently. The ability to choose any color is kinda cool as well. However we were running two torch style floor lamps with 100W equivalent single color LED white bulbs and as these were only 60W equivalent they did not give us the same brightness in our living room when both on full power. Apparently 60W is the highest these type of bulbs go at this time. Since I liked the concept and wanted to use the gift I purchased a triple lamp to replace on of our old ones and purchased more bulbs so I could get more light using more bulbs.
I had a basic understanding of how the original bulbs were set up for me so when the new ones arrived I was ready to try to set them up using my Samsung Galaxy phone. Initially it went well with the LIFX software seeing the new lights and updating the firmware. I did run into a problem after that with both bulbs after that. The software would just go into a search loop when trying to locate the new bulbs on the network. It took some time but I found a solution on the LIFX forums. Apparently the software has a few kinks and one of them has to do with Android based devices. I found users with the same problem and eventually found a post I could understand about a possible fix. The fix was to go the the phone settings and turn off the mobile data function. Apparently this interferes with the device discovery of the bulbs. I can't explain it much better than that, but it worked like a charm. I clicked the mobile data off on my phone, reset the new bulbs by cycling them on and off 5 times. You then have to set them up again by finding them on the LIFX software. This time it found them on the network right away and they were added to my software control. Once you have setup all your lights go back in your phone settings and turn the mobile data back on. It does not affect your ability to operate the light once it is setup and other functions on your phone need this on to work I believe.
I ended up liking these a lot more on the triple lamp as setting the bulbs to 3 different colors really creates a cool looking effect. I have included a few pics with the bulbs set on different colors. Overall this is a cool, although expensive light bulb, The price is largely due to the fact that they direct transmit to your wireless network without additional adapters or routers. I took one star away due to the networking issues with my Android phone as that added about 2 hours to my setup trying to figure it out. I'm lucky I found the post and answer that I did and hopefully this review helps someone else who runs into the same issue.

Aside from a lightbulb just deciding not to work and exchanging it doesn't negatively impact my thoughts on the product. After Philips hue bridge causing interference with my modem, c by ge app just horrid, and Samsung hub required for the lights to work, lifx is amazing! All best buy workers told me use lifx and after reluctantly not due to price, I finally decided to purchase. Best buy honoring the price match made it much better which does influence my review decision. However, to put into perspective, I use multiple iOS and Android devices simultaneously (iPad, iPhone, z flip, homepod, pixel 4) and my goodness it updates automatically on all devices when lifx downloaded and signed in. No manual configuration and lack of a hub is complete smart light bliss. Brightness and colors are second for me. The seamless use of homekit and Google assistant with lifx is unrivaled!

I purchased this Lifx mini with low expectations, just expecting it to be an ordinary light bulb. As soon as I got home, Installed it, connected to my Alexa app, which was a cinch and started to play with it. The color options on this are phenomenal. You literally get any color out of this light bulb that you can think of. Either controlled with your phone or iPad, or with Amazon Echo which I use. You walk into a room, say turn light on, instantly it goes, whatever color you tell it to. I never though I'd be so excited over a light bulb but this item really impressed me. I'm definitely going to purchase more because it really makes life easier walking into any room without light and speaking into the air. Great buy, well priced

Loving these lifx bulbs. I decided to try the 800 lumens and compare it to my 1000 lumens and there was a small difference in the brightness. It’s good for a small lamp, room or a few in the ceiling fan. I will be getting a few more.

I wanted colored smart lights to cheer me up in the evenings. Before deciding for the LIFX, I checked online reviews and did a comparison with Philips Hue. After trying them out, my preference was to stick with LIFX, cause they don't require a Hub, they can be connected via wifi, which I found was an easier to use option than Bluetooth connectivity.
The LIFX app is user friendly and has a good choice of colorful Themes that one can try out. The red is very vivid and it is the one I like the most.
Also very easy to use with Alexa.

These might be pricey compared to a lot of other smart bulbs, but they are far superior to a dozen other major brands that I tested. Brighter, more saturated colors, and WAY better app. The only thing I would improve is the setup process. It can be a bit tricky. After you get it all set up, though it’s an incredibly smooth and seamless experience. Works great with Alexa. You get what you pay for.

I found this very, very easy to set up. You just need to read the instructions and be patient. I set this up using my iphone. I do not use Homekit. I turned the bulb on, waited the 15 minutes, and then was able to connect via wifi. Has worked flawlessly since. App is super cool, and easy to navigate, and the light turns on very quickly after hitting the on button. the colors looks SO vibrant. I'm shocked. I can't wait to fill out the rest of the bulbs in my room with these!

Very nice light and many options to play with. Scan the QR code on box (tube) to connect to for one single person. To connect multiple users on Apple phones you have to either use a Apple hub or activate the hub on an IPad etc. From the hub you will invite other Apple users to accept a invitation to connect to the bulb. You have to give them admin to do more than cut it off and on. Really nice light with dimming capability and about every color under the rainbow.

I owned one of the original (bigger and bulkier LIFX bulbs, pre HomeKit support) so when it came time to buy more I chose these smaller, less bright variety.
If you are already familiar with the LIFX app, then there will be no surprises here as it pretty much works the same. the part that I wasn't used to was the HomeKit integration. At first I had gotten it all setup, but then after doing a firmware update on the bulbs through the app something went wrong and the bulbs just started flashing in all sorts of patterns and colors and it wasn't very clear what had happened. After that the bulbs wouldn't connect to my wi-fi or be recognized in the app.
I managed to get the bulbs re-added to my app, but the codes for HomeKit that came in the package just keep saying that they are invalid now. Have yet to be able to add them again. So I docked a star for that reason.
