Controller breaks down after a couple of months, recommend getting geek squad insurance

Bought the first one only to find the pins receding into the casing for one of the modules out of a brand new box. LIFX said to return to bestbuy and so I did and got a new one ordered. Second one arrives and that one fails to properly connect to my router. Every time I try to connect it, it fails. I have gone through all the troubling shoot steps and reset the light many times according to the website. I reach out to LIFX support and describing all of what I have done and they copy and paste the instructions to all the steps I have already tried and have not responded since. Now I’m stuck with a $150 piece of plastic on my wall with no functionality. Don’t buy LIFX and if you do, get local warranty.

I really wanted to like these but not impressed with the app very glitchy and the setup to find a good place for them was difficult as they are only truly connected once you remove adhesive

I love smart lights (utilize philips hue in the house primarily) in general however this particular product really disappointed me. First the set up process was cumbersome and rather annoying. It kiterally toom me two hours to set thenlights up because if the lights are not aligned properly not all the lights will connect... also connecting to the wifi network was such a pain. It kept telling me that my wifi could not be detected and i constantly had to reset the lights to attempt to re connect. Once i was able to connect, the quality of the lights itself appeared cheap. Theblight was not bright at all and had this blurry hue to it because of the casing around each light bar. Inconparison to wuality, the philips hue lights are much more bright and crisp. I returned the product.

pretty cool for my moments on a a triple stack blue dolphin while hanging out in my new pool.....might have to run a sheet of sunshine to see how this feels...

Wish that they had extra adhesive velcro tape inside

I put this light under my desk and it has been great! Setup was super simple and even though a 5g network didn’t work, I just used the 2.4ghz network and it worked perfectly!!

power wouldnt pass one stick, and is overprices as well

This beam kit is so cool. You can customize into color themes or just a single color. Has different settings.

Love these lights and with the open source GlimmrTV, they can respond to your television

When i purchased and installed the lights i was blown away with the colors and brightness.

Will not stay connected to wi-fi. Only comes on full brightness. Support is spotty and has not solved the problem. Disappointing. I have spent over an hour fooling around with it.

Great product. Highly recommended and one if the best on the market.

They where nice unit they started to get discolored and turn on randomly at night.

DO NOT BUY THIS. Save your $100+, and your sanity. The LIFX Beam kit I bought has been nothing but a continuous headache after the 3rd month of ownership. Don't get me wrong this is a good if not great product...when it works. Unfortunately mine has been plagued with connection issues 3 months in with the issues worsening over time. When it started having issues it would lose connection for a couple hours, then a month later it would lose connection once a week, and now it would lose connection within 3 or so hours if I were to plug it in until I connect it back up to the wifi.

Horrible product, plastic makes cracking noises as the lights warm up, the ac plug has a high pitched whine and the app integration with HomeKit is frustrating.

Beam no good, one beam, I set to 4500, beam have pink, blue color in all beam, and always disconnect, return

The beam kit looks good, when its working properly. 2 of my beam lights included in the kit went out on me. They were less than 60 days old. I fully understand that sometimes things like this may happen. My issue though isnt with that as much as it is their customer service. I emailed LiFX explaining my situation and even sent a couple pictures so that they could see exactly where the issues were. They reached out to me, 4 days after my initial email only to say, and i quote.. “we believe any response is better than no response. We're busy working away on tickets, but we haven't gotten to yours quite yet, thank you for your patience”. thats it? and I havent heard from them since. Listen, you can feel however it is you want but after you spend a couple hundred dollars buying products from a company, a prompt response with a solution is what youre looking for, not “we’ll get to you when we get to you”.
