Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Z Wi-Fi Lightstrip's brightness, ease of use, and the extensive features offered through its app. Many found setup straightforward and the length suitable for various applications, though some experienced connectivity problems and noted the price point as a potential drawback. The adhesive's effectiveness was also a point of contention among users.

Lots of light from a tiny strip

These look great under the cabinet and give so much more light than expected. The added benefit of color options and be able to control it remotely with my phone or my amazon echo make it just about perfect. My only complaint is the tape on the back is pretty weak. You may need to spend a few dollars and order some led strip clips to keep them in place. But once they’re up, they look great.

I picked mine up from Best Buy, better deal to get 9.9ft for an extra $10. The lights in my strip have 3 sections that connect and can be controlled in 24 lighting areas. I have 4 lifx color 1000 bulbs and have them integrated into my smart home tech using IFTT and couldn't be happier. For now the colors are a bit off from the color 1000 to the Z strip but I have spoken with support and they assured me an update is dropping soon that will fix this. I have reviewed these in video form on my Youtube channel search Amanda Woolsey Lifx Z to see in action.I also have a video showing how the color 1000 blinks to yellow when my Ring Doorbell sense motion outside or blinks red when my Nest Cam sense motion in my room and hopefully will scare aware any unwanted guests. I currently have the Osram Lightify Strips on my gaming desk setup and Lifx Z on my video editing workspace and the Lifx is so much brighter and with all the customization options makes these by far the best Smart LED Strip

I have purchased most of LIFX’s product line up and this product outshines the others. The colors are vivid and the configuration options are endless. These also play well with Google Home, Alexa, and Siri. Rarely does the strip disconnect but when it does, it can be rather frustrating to reconnect. The strips themselves are also rather expensive. Aside from those two cons, these are some of the best smart light strips that money can buy for anyone looking to turn their home into a smart home.

    HomeKit Users Rejoice

I bought this LIFX Z kit with the expectation that it would not be HomeKit compatible, due to the website not mentioning anything about HomeKit. Thankfully, it does contain the HomeKit compatible cable. Now to the actual review. This kit blows the Hue strip out of the water. You can create multiple color configurations on a single strip (I tend to put it in a rainbow pattern with the "Move" effect on). The strip is about 95% color accurate, the only colors that have a bit of difficulty are at the low, warmest Kelvin white light temperatures. They tend to come out more yellow than warm light. The one other objection is that multi-color configurations set to a scene tend to not save properly, so it does require manually configuring every time. Thankfully something like that can be solved with a simple software update. Bottom line, if you're new to smart bulb systems and looking at smart LED strips as well, the LIFX Z Experience kit is definitely a worthy reason in and of itself to invest in the LIFX ecosystem.

Works great - build quality... meh

First and foremost, this thing works GREAT! It looks amazing, it is bright, colorful, and the app and available settings/features as well as HomeKit integration are all very well done. Now. The build quality... The adhesive barely works. The rubber body is constantly cracking or peeling, and the pins that connect the separate sections are very delicate looking - I haven't broken any, but I'm afraid I will if I ever have to remove this from my TV. If LIFX would improve their adhesive, and the quality of the rubber they used, this thing would be perfect.

My wife purchased 2 of these kits for me for Christmas. We put one up above the kitchen cabinets as an accent light. The IFTTT integration is great. I can schedule it to turn on and off with the sunrise / sunset, change brightness, etc. automatically. The other one attached to the back of my computer desk. We already plan to buy 2 more: one for my wife's desk, and one as an accent light behind the TV in the living room.

    Fun Light Strip

Pros: Love that you can change sections of the strip to different colors instead of the whole strip being one solid color. The effects are pretty cool as well with the music visualizer and spooky effects being my favorite so far. Cons: I don't care that there is only a wifi connectivity option. It causes some lag issues when trying to adjust the colors, brightness, etc. Future versions needs some zwave or zigbee protocols. The extension cables only come in 3 different lengths; 1m, 7cm, and 10cm. You can't connect more than one together to create longer extensions, and if you buy any of the aftermarket extension cables that are longer than 1m, the strips won't work. Big design flaw IMO.

So I purchased this light kit for my mothers kitchen due to poor lighting from the current light she has under the cabinets. The previous lighting was so poor you could hardly see what you were doing so this had to be done. Set up was a little funky. You have to add it to the LIFX app first then Homekit (I don't know why this happened but thats how I did it). Make sure to have all the strips plugged in..in order for the control to recognize all the zones/strips. I already had 3 of the LifX bulbs in the kitchen chandelier so this made controlling the whole kitchen simple. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking into this product The biggest con though would be the sticky backing and none of the u snapped little brackets that hold the strip up like you get with the Phillips strip.

These things are great. I have a lot of LIFX bulbs in my house and setup and use is consistently solid and easy. Love that they don’t need a hub, work seamlessly with Alexa.

Bought these back in February and I was stoked to get em. The adhesive is very strong and reliable, the app is designed extremely well, and the lights get very bright and have tons of awesome presets, along with a wide range of colors. Ran into a problem with them where they started changing repeatedly between 16 colors and wouldn't work, but this is a defect that is covered both by Geek Squad (if you purchased it) and the manufacturer's warranty and my exchange went very smoothly. Would recommend for nearly anyone.

Can’t Go Wrong - Better than Hue!

You can’t go wrong with LIFX, especially when these are on sale. The colors are great - saturated and rich. The apps latest update is a hit or miss - it’ll take awhile to get the hang of it but once you do it’s fine. As a whole, these are still among the best and the only brand that I know of that allows for multiple sections of (blended) color. I docked one star for occasional connectivity issues, but at the end of the day that’s the trade off you make between better lights and no hub.

We love our new LED lights, they look great on top of our stove and illuminates/ projects light to cover a large section. We love the home kit and Alexa integration - very quick and efficient. Only reason I didn’t give it all 5 stars is that the adhesive in the back of the LED strip is not strong at all, they do not stick for long either due to weight or the heat from the LED itself. We used a stronger double sided tape and it works great!

These lights are very bright and the app is quite easy to use. My only complaint is they separate from each other very easily the double-sided sticky tape on the back is not very strong and not only that they don’t connect to Apple home kit without a different adapter. And sometimes they drop off my Wi-Fi and I have to re-sync them

These are wonderful, very bright and easy to use. The only issues I have had is with the lights wanting to go out. I have replaced the strip a few times and when I connect them together I get flickering and parts of the strip stopped working. For the most part, they have worked great. I use them with Apple HomeKit and I don't have any problems with them taking commands. If you are looking for a light strip that you can do more then one color at a time these are the ones you want.

We have installed these lightstrips under the kitchen cabinets, and they light the counters perfectly. No more food prep in the shadows! I have them on a timer so they come on before I arrive in the kitchen in the morning, and they can be programmed to be on when I'm away from home as an extra security light. I love the range of colors and brightness available. I like asking Alexa to turn them on or off and can select the brightness and color via Alexa, too. I felt the product was expensive, but I'm so happy with it that I endorse it gladly.

The lights are much brighter than other similar light strips. The adhesive can be a bit tricky, and the separate sections don't always stay together, but installation was fairly painless. The app could use some work though. It was a bit tricky to get the lights connected, and the lights can be a bit slow to respond. Otherwise very happy with the setup and lights.

So far I have had these installed on the back of my 55” TV for a week. The accent is amazing, the customizability is crazy. The responsiveness is flawless, I have had no connection issues. Pros: - They look awesome - Easy to use - Very well made App and interegration with HomeKit - Sooo many options to change colors Cons: - Expencive - Very hard to install at 90 degree angles on the back of a TV

The strip lights are nice and bright however they are kind of pricey which can deal breaker to some. I like that you can control individual sections of the light. They come in 3.3ft sections which is nice so you dont have to cut them hopefully. Just need to good to see if they have and extention connection so you can use the sections in different places.
